Dark souls 2 is all about how the cycle of light and dark happens over and over. The great souls you collect in dark souls 2 are the same ones you collected in dark souls 1. DS1 is about the linking of the fire, DS2 is about the curse and how it doesn't really matter if you choose to link the fire or not. and DS3 is about how linking the fire over and over will ultimately lead to stagnation.
I think Dk2 was more about the despair of the cycle, and being trapped. Judging by what was mentioned, the second game showed that there were so many civilizations or countries on the level of Lordran that all met the same fate only to be eventually be forgotten and another city be build ontop of the bones of the old. Choosing not to link the flame would end the cycle but it's not possible because then the Dark Sign would spread like it does everytime the flame dies, but linking the flame would only perpetuate the same cycle. There was no choice here, until at the end of the DLC's there's finally a 3rd option. I still find it a real shame DkS3 didn't explore that, it really went and did more it's own thing
I never really played dark souls, hate to say. but I've really got into Skyrim fighting bandits, skeletons, wolves, and spiders, and exploring abandoned temples to loot and new towns to capitalize on with my findings. this reminds me of just that! Please don't gate keep! I just wanna share my experience despite my lack of knowledge in the subject!
Ah dark souls 2 one of my favorite games of all time. Btw i actually know the guy who voiced the summoned guy who was pancaked by the green fatty in this animation. Man been awhile since i played ds2 i should play it again.
11:20 - Right down the road. This is an NPC in DS2 but in DS1 it was flying enemies. And for someone who can fly it is indeed not far but for us on foot it is a far and frustrating trip.
If you hate being invaded, bad news, In Dark souls 1 you can avoid invasions by never restoring your humanity, in DS3 you can avoid invasions by never embering up, in Elden Ring you can avoid invasions by never summoning other players. in DS2, you are always a target for invaders. ALWAYS. I once got invaded while I was at a bonfire going thorough the menu to warp back to Majula. That was one of the few times I used a Giant Tree Seed, because i was tired and annoyed, plus I realized mr invader had appeared at the other end of the now monster filled area so I just did some deep breathing while listening for the sounds of mr invader getting jumped.
Did you know you can just burn a human effigy at the bonfire and it turns off any invasions or summons for the area? Same effect shows up when you kill a boss.
0:37 MOM GET THE CAMERA IM ON TV! And also the invasion sections of the animation are completely accurate the lag and the pyromancy 1 shoting you is all too familiar
besides the fact that the flask upgrades were moved to places that required items to get, oh and all the extra enemy hoards. They probably fixed a lot too
It's super underrated compared to Happy Souls, but I would also recommend checking out Dark Souls: In Summary by PlagueOfGripes, so many moments in that animation have lived rent free in my head for 10 years. "How's it feeeel seath? To be a _bitch?"_
For boss weapons either go right down the road, or see if you think you can handle his spells. Both have good options, but NG+ expands on options and same with things sold in shop. DS2 rewards you for playing with the little details and for both that and its expansive playstyle options that are viable make it my favorite game of the 3.
13:15 So there are some differences between DS2 and Scholar of the First Sin editions in the game. For DS2 the dragon skeleton will lunge at you as soon as you enter, where as sotfs you have to light sconces to trigger the event giving you a key.
XD man you really missed out on a lot by from the sound of it, both playing in offline AND not interacting with the community XDXD i will say both are intended by the devs for you to interact with because of how the story of the soulsborne games are all about overcoming adversity as small insignificant specs who through their own effort and some good old jolly cooperation, work with those around them to overcome challenges they couldnt alone even if that simply is sharing knowledge. either way, fun reaction and definantly earned a subscribble from me ;D
Playing offline was not my intention, I had a weird bug. I definitely feel like I want to give DS2 another shot in the future. Scholar of the first sin is also rougher for someone’s first playthrough. Glad you enjoyed the video.
BULLSHIT! SCHOLAR OF THE FIRST SIN IS ACTUALLY BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL, PEOPLE JUST COMPLAIN CUZ OF SKILL ISSUES OR CUZ THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND, OR ARE EXAGGERATING FOR CONTENT
If you like it thats valid and its probably better in some ways. For me personally they just added more hoards but the bosses were easy. So it was such a pain the get to the bosses.
@@camellia_vt sorry for the caps, it was for effect but came off as aggressive. anyway, most of the hordes can be relatively easily avoided, and in some cases the ganks are easierthan in the original- for example in Iron Keep, the original version had you fight like two alonne knights in every room leading to the big bad room before smelter demon, in comparison to the sotf version where they're a little more thoughtfully spaced in a way where you can often fight them one on one and kill them quickly before the next one reaches you. shrine of amana is one that's a little harder to say about, the spellcasters are just annoying by themselves so they make any situation feel gankier by existing.

There's a pretty good series that reminds me of this video, but about the first Dark Souls instead. It's called 'Dark Sauce'

You can kill that boss by damaging him while the boss still does the loops, and if he loses all the HP, he falls off the hole
@saisame7975 that's the thing I never hit him
More maxor please. PLEASE!
Quick question . does your cute birb on the left have a name (and lore and or gender ) or is it just a another model of you. ? I know its random .
