A lot of people can't eat that many burgers because of how physically filling they are, Jugg Head can do it because he's a comic book character and a glutton.
The Waid/Staples reboot seems like a good example of a proper reboot. Modernized updated. But still in keeping with the tone and characterization of the source material. Unlike the "Riverdale" tv series.
A lot of the time when I watch you videos I think, ''Man come on, don't do that! I don't need you to hurt yourself, I just wanna hear about comics!''. Anyway, thanks and keep on the good work ;)

Great vid, Chris. Reminds me of the time my friend won $1000 in one of those scratch-and-win lottery tickets. He bought 20 Big Macs and ate 11. My other friend ate 4. I got sick after eating only 2. My friend was the living embodiment of Jughead as far as eating burgers was concerned. HahA!
I watch a few comics channels and yours is easily the most entertaining. You actually have a "show" not just listing facts and doing a review. I love all your segments, tropes and gags / hilarious cold opens.
First off, I have been enjoying your channel for sometime now. And yes the viewer in the comments suggesting sliders is great hindsight, it was brutal watching you do this.. it reminds me of a friend and I going to a cheap burger place ( burger express) in Battle Creek Michigan and buying 24 cheeseburgers and seeing how many we could eat.😥🤢. Any way really enjoy your channel keep up the great work. And maybe ( not that I am advocating alcohol use) but stick to the shots 👍
Awesome video. I would visit that Zanadu location with my roommates almost weekly while I was attending AIS. We lived just a few blocks away. Great store. I miss it.
Hiarliously, given this comic's success at repliating the tone (if not the format) of the classic Americana Archie, Riverdale actually had an episode pretty much laughing at the idea that you could successfully update Archie's wholesome charm to the modern day. Because Riverdale isn't even trying to be Archie. It's One Tree Hill, set in Twin Peaks, with characters named after Archie characters.
My first intro to the Archie publications was Sabrina the teenage witch starring Melissa Joan Hart. Waid's run has made me a fan of the main books & the company's other books. Also, no human being can eat that many burgers & not come down with heartburn or major league hurling. Not even Jughead.
Another great vid! Really liking the artwork in that issue. Might pick up an issue to study the art. Thanks for introducing us to this rebooted Archie. I never would have known about it otherwise. I'll have a cheeseburger or 2 or 3 in your honour. Cheers!
Now I want a cheese burger... But I'll be damn if I go to a McDonald's... Those things are like a fucking poison for my stomach and I'm for flipping Mexico!! I'm used to eat food of questionable quality when it comes to health and sanitary standars and yet is the food with "good standars" the one that effs me over...
As soon as I saw those burgers I knew it was an awful idea, and I was not disappointed. I remember when I could've done that without breaking a sweat, and now I just feel old
You missed one trope...did you count the trope when Archie broke one of Mr. Lodge's belongings? He breaks the mansion but you didn't eat a burger for that trope
Chris, your commitment to your work is astounding, hats off! I love burgers but eight would do me in :) Next time pick up some White Castle belly bombs! Keep the great videos coming, I really enjoy the quality, dedication and thoughtful information of the content you provide. -Rich Fekete
Went to look them up so i can stop by next time in settle... The good guys don’t always win. Unfortunately, our world is harsher than that of comic books and after 42 years of battling in the trenches of comic book retail, Zanadu Comics closed its doors at the end of January 2018. Believe us when we say that this decision was not made lightly. There are hundreds of reasons we could list, but the truth is that the money coming in did not equal the money going out. Perry has worked and hustled and played the angles for longer than he should have been able to, but time has a way of catching up with even the most diligent businessman. The industry has changed, our clientele has diminished and unfortunately, we were just too far in the red to continue to serve as your local comic book store. :(
Growing up in the 60's I only read titles by Archie, Harvey, Gold Key/Whitman, and Charlton/Modern. In the late 70's I added Warren Publishing. Even now, all these years later, I prefer the comics of Indies over DC and Marvel (although I do buy some of their titles too). Once I started going to Comic Shops in the 80's I really embraced the Indies hardcore. Now I also buy alot of Print-On-Demand comics too. I'm currently spending between $500 to $1,500 per month on Comics, Trade Paperbacks, and Digests.
So what's the deal with Jawbreakers? What's going on? Who started it? What started it? What is "it" to begin with? I've run across a few vague videos on TH-cam but that's about it.
I remember you saying that you used to run around with the real life super hero in Seattle. He was recently busted for drugs. That's quite a character Arch... Did you have anything to do with that?
I would really love to see another Hot pepper challenge, also maybe a MCU tropes series for example almost every marvel movie uses Mind Control as a major plot device

Sure. As far as the Emerald City Comic Con, I've been to it several years. I would say it's on the larger side of conventions, though nowhere near the scale of SDCC or NYCC. That means it has big crowds but also fairly big guests. The Artists Alley is a healthy size but most of what you'll find is new comics, dollar bins of 70s through 90s stuff, trade paperback deals and clothes and toys.
what did you think of Riverdale? I hated it. I don't understand why some things can't just be left alone. The world was hardly in need of a gritty realistic reboot of Archie. it's a stupid idea and the show is a waste of time
Should have gone for Krystals, or what the Northeast calls Whitecastles, or generically known as sliders. Don't know if they have them in Seattle though.
Love your show, but sorry, can't listen to people eat. I wanted to hear your take on Archie and the Gang... but I'll move on to one where you're drinking instead. This is on me, don't ever change!
I think you should´ve gone to a news stand or a drugstore to pick up the comic. considering the fact that it´s one of the only comics you can get from there.

That is not entertaining, it's stupid. The comic talk is great and that shit just ruins the real entertainment.

Yeah most comic channels are either live streamers or Wikipedia articles in video form
archie is hard to mess up. a goofy wet behind the ears teen with friends that we've all had at one point in our lives. overall it's not bad.
The CW did somehow, then again they're not the best at making anything good
