Man I remember when I lived in West philly I'd always drive up broad street going to see my parents, and I would ALWAYS see this place passing by and wonder what it was like. But I never stopped... shame on me. Thank you JL for this video and all the others... now that I don't live in Philly any more these are always a nostalgia TRIP. Didn't realize how good I had it living in Philly till I left!

Wow that shrimp looks really delicious - this is one of those foods where it tastes how it looks... you can tell that there isn't a thick layer of breading - its just on the surface... nice and evenly coated. Crispy and perfectly seasoned... I'm definitely a tartar sauce guy though I do like cocktail sauce too (extra horseradish please)... when I have the option I get both! I'm definitely going to try out this spot! Maybe bring a bottle of coke with me though - lol

West Philadelphia born n raised!!! Great Video! Side Bookers is definitely a landmark of Philadelphia!! I been going there since the 80s!! Next door was the Club called Stingers.it was always a line outside..dating my wife in the 80s sometimes we would stop there for shrimp after a movie or just hanging out! Just U posting that video brought back memories!

It’s funny you are there…The Stinger aka The Point…this is where my I met my wife over 17 years ago…I was working a Security detail…and…she was a patron who came outside to get some air and made her way over to where I was posted…knocked on the window of my patrol vehicle and sparked up a conversation…which blossomed into a relationship…and then…to a marriage and four awesome children 😃

Telling my age. Mom use to make me go there every weekend when I was back in grade school back in the '70's. Mom and her friends would hang out at the Clubhouse bar on Belfield and JB's lounge on 18th. I still stop by there when I'm in Philly. Lines can be long especially in the evening but definitely worth the wait!

You have to STOP! My wife and I took a ride there Saturday 10/16/21! It was great we drove about 150 miles one way on your word that this food was good it wasn’t just good it was great, I told the other troopers to go and try the place. I’ll be going back it was awesome! Thank you had to work out even harder cause I ate so much. These place that you introduce to the general public is great. These dishes have a particular ingredient that my mom before she was murdered cooked with and other moms cooked with that you can’t buy at any cooking school or grocery store, the ingredient is called”LOVE”! You can’t get this ingredient at that store “Bed, Bath and Behind”! When Highway Troopers when’s to my moms for supper the first thing was wash your hands and no fire arms at her dinner table! Thank you for finding places to eat that cook with love and not a microwave!

Been going there since 1987 brother!!! One time in ‘88 stopped in and ordered 4 dozen to go and while I’m waiting a couple of fools got in an argument and before u knew it they were shooting at one another. People scattered and lit out like crazy. I ducked behind my car waited a minute and figured the worst was over and I wanted them shrimp!!! Waited 5 minutes and got my order!!! Def worth the wait!!!

Welcome to my neighborhood grew up @ 16th & Wyoming the shrimp use to be big back in the day my grandfather use to bring home shrimp every Friday night after work
This spot has been there for years and years, I remember when it was call the High Line Lounge back in the day, Lots of party's held there.
