I don't think I've ever clicked on a video so fast🤣. I was born and raised in Newark and lived there for most of my life. Coopers was an integral part of my childhood. I'm 33 years old and I've been eating there since I was about 10. The food is bomb and the people there are so nice. They used to have another location in Newark/Irvington but I think he closed it. My go to sandwich is the hot pastrami on white roll with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and Russian dressing. Keep up the good work JL, shining a light on local small businesses👌😊

Picture it! Summertime... Newark NJ.. 1980's. My grandma would buy these sandwiches and feed 4 grandkids off of 1. with some quarter waters and a bag a chips. Ahhh.. Good times.
Born and raised in Newark been going to Coopers since I was a little girl in the 70's still to this day and I'm 56 years old....they still delicious!😍

JLJupiter you was right in my neighborhood when you was in Branch Brook Park doing your review! You and your wife really need to check out the Cherry Blossoms when they bloom late March/early April (depending on the weather warming up at that time). There is Cherry Blossom Festivities for about 2 weeks in the park at that time as well. North Newark is always an excellent place to explore little hidden gems of terrific food!!😊🌸🌳☀️

I started going to Cooper’s when I was in college back in the 80’s. I still go and do a “Coopers run” for the family when we want our sandwich fix!

East Orange NJ native I grew up on Cooper's, my mom's use get another loaf of bread and make more sandwiches off of one half. Definitely a classic spot, legendary.

I used to walk past Cooper’s & buy sandwiches from there from the 70’s thru the early 2000s when I moved out of the area. Cooper’s was NOTORIOUSLY known for the HUGE piles of meat they put on every sandwich! As fat as your sandwiches were, they were even bigger than that back in the days! Super delicious gem hidden in the hood! Thank you for giving my hometown some more shine! Peace!

You finally came to my hood. Thanks bro!!!....I grew up right around the corner from that spot. I've been eating there since 1979 when my grammy would take me there, then send me to get us one when she didn't feel like going herself. Mr. Cooper was really cool dude as he used to make sure we took ALL of my grammy's change back...Lol!.....That spot is an important part of my childhood and I still eat there to this day when I'm in town. I live in Orlando now. Cheers bro, this is one of my fav youtube channels!!!!

& I can say that bc I'm born&raised there. Anyway, thanks for frequenting Newark bc we do have some really good eat spots. They use to give so much meat you could make 2 or 3 sandwiches for the family but your total was really good for the amount of sandwiches and drinks you got, Enjoy. Appreciate ya!!!
2 things:
1.) Because they weigh it now, I guess they finally realized they couldn’t sustain a profitable business by giving away too much food. They KNEW they had to pay attention to #FoodCost.
2.) You should give some recommendations to some of your favorite eateries.👍🏾😁😁

I grew up going to Coopers..My parents moved to the townhouse directly in front of Coopers back in 1993, and they actually still live in that neighborhood…I agree it is not the safest spot..but outside of a few people coming up to him asking for some spare change, he probably would have been ok eating the subs outside the car like he usually does..nevertheless it was a great video and he did the right thing lol…peace Brick City!

I remember my momma coming here and getting two sandwiches, one for her and my dad to split, and the other for me and my 3 older sisters to share. That’s just how much meat they used to put up there. My mom would be able to make four sandwiches for us kids just from one Coopers sandwich. Lol. She would give it to us with some chips and kool aid and we were some happy kids.

Cooper's is the Best when it comes to Sandwiches in Newark NJ. You got there at a good time because they be crowded sometimes, but it's worth the wait.

Growing up in the Newark in the late 70’s and 80’s Coopers on that side of Newark was official and on the other side of Newark Bragman’s was the other spot - superb sandwiches🔥🔥🔥👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿 My favorite was the Brisket with mustard and russian dressing👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿✅✅✅✅💯💯💯💯

the real ones know about the sauce with the pastrami and cheese. OMG, I was born in newark, and lived in Irvington, and I used to walk to this faithfully everyday for the sandwiches.

I’ve been going here for years ! Love Coopers. Fresh and never stingy with the meats. I recently have tried Katz and love them too for the same reason. Pastrami from both spots hits 👌🏾
