Thanks to you. I mean it. It took me 3 full days to figure out what was wrong with my windows 10 update from 8.1. I came to know it were the graphic drivers which created the problems, but wasn't able to fix it by traditional updating and from AMD website. I finally was successfull by going through your steps in which you asked to go to laptop's manufacturer's website. I downloaded the given driver graphics and that fixed my problem. Thanks again. :)

Well done Dave. A little background in my case. I have been working with Window's since Version 3.0 (yeah I am old). I have obtained my MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) and my MCT (Microsoft Certified Trainer) along with at least 13 other certifications, my point is I know of what I speak. You are very good at this...if you do not have your certs, get after em I think you would make a great MCT...I have hired a lot of them less talented than you are. Just thought I would toss that out there. I came here because of a crazy issue I am having with a Bluetooth Audio issue that has stumped me. Oh...with your MCSE and MCT (not sure what they are called now a days) you can make a VERY comfortable living, if your good at it, and you seem to be. Good luck.. and well done.

Thanks for this great video. I also have Hp Spectre x360 and was having some troubles with sound and windows so I had to reset it and was worried about the drivers update. But your video helped a lot. But the Hp Support software fails to download Hp Cool Sense on its own and it isn't showing in my pc. Do I have to download it separately?

good video. just stumbled across your channel. i have one issue that you didnt address. what if you have very limited or no internet? like i have. just one bar of 4g cellular network coverage, but i have the folders containing my drivers from my old hdd. how do i tell windows to stop using the windows basic display adapter and use my intel hd 4000 graphics?

This is helpful. I want to manage the driver's myself. Does Windows Update usually replace my installed driver? Also, are driver's stored in System32/Drivers? So when I install a driver, is it copied to System32/Drivers?

Hi Dave, I know this video is quite old but I was wondering if maybe you could help me with an issue I have after doing driver updates. I was having problems updating to windows 10 version 2004, it kept rolling back at around 80% installation and I thought it was possibly a driver issue so I stupidly downloaded a free driver updater and ran it. After it finished " updating my drivers " I soon realised that it actually installed some older drivers than the ones I already had which caused my USB 3.1 ( Red x 4 ) and my built in bluetooth device to stop working. My PC sees them but does not recognise the devices, im also not able to roll back as I didnt have a backup at the time. In device manager, both these devices are showing as " unknow device ", I have even done a fresh install of windows 10 ( which ironically automatically updated to version 2004 ) but still my PC says unknowm device. I was wondering if removing the bios battery and putting it back in might help or if there is another way to get these 2 devices recognised by windows again?

I'm having trouble. A driver was installed that is causing issues but I don't have a rollback button, so im attempting to "update" it to the old driver i had via the Microsoft Update Catalog method, but it will not install it saying "The best drivers for your device are already installed". Is there any way to get around this?

Dave Hi, I’m Gillette, you are seriously good at what you do. I have an issue, a program was installed on my desk top and I don’t know where to fix it. It has a shortcut which I use to open it, it shows do you want this program to make changes to your computer I’d say yes and it disappears. There's been a lot of postings on Norton regarding being leery when it states it found obsolete drivers and letting Norton install updates. People have stated cases of Norton's driver update making their devices unusable. I was always checking the Device Manager whenever Norton stated that and Device Manager said the latest driver was installed when Norton stated the opposite.

Your video was easy to follow. I did the driver manager part and the hp support assist, then restarted my computer and the game is finally working. Still not at full capacity but better than it was. Hi what should i do if i don't have touchpad in my bios? my windows & bios are updated. I also tried to update my touchpad driver but it doesn't work. Is there anything i can do? thank you
my problem usually is that I do now know what drivers I need. Its so unnecessarily complicated to get a system started. I wish manufacturers would just have a single software that lets you choose your product and have that software download and install everything. Like an Intel software that I just open up, select my i7-8700k and fire away, then one from MSi which I open up, select the Z370 and have it automatically install everything I need. Nvidia has that with Geforce experience I guess, but GPU drivers are simple enough already. I guess half my drivers if not all are outdated by now, but theres no way you would manually check every few weeks and check for any updates. Too bad driver updaters are bad apparently, they sound good.

Hi Dave, brill "lesson, but I have a desktop with tower that was made for me, the driver from what I see is one of those ACPI x 64 something, how on earth do I update that driver, the only game I play on my pc is elevenar and it gets stuck and tells me I need to "update my hardware acceleration which I have done and nothing happens. I think the driver has been in since 2006 or that is what the date shows me in the device manager
Hey Dave i have question! i bought gaming laptop and it randomly freezes for 1-5 sec's, if im playing like cs:go and it freezes my character keeps going forward if i pressed the key w before it froze, happens totally random and sometimes it happens while looking videos or doing anything i guess, so is my pc doomed or can i fix? kinda sucks ass to spend 1000€ to gaming pc that makes me so damn angry ;( im currently trying to update all drvers
Check if you updated your graphics card driver or you installed their software and make sure your computer is virus free

Are you familiar with the no charge issues for HP LAPTOPS? I just bought a new battery and my laptop only works with the charger plugged in. I think I deleted some drivers or something from my laptop or something. I don't know what I did, but on my battery icon it says "84% available (plugged in)". If it is 'Few drivers', what are those drivers? Like graphics card and ?

Well, I think it's good to update all your driver's regularly, since some of your drivers may have a security vulnerability, so to avoid any problems, you should keep all up to date.
