The thing about healthcare is its not what you know, its who u know!! I have a B.A in health services and i dont know anyone in healthcare so my degree, time spent, money spent was worthless. Since 2021 & still no job, not even an interview & my resume is professionally done. I feel discouraged & I feel like a failure. Im not giving up because im a fighter & I keep going. I fight for what i earned, what i worked hard for, & what i want.
Man some of these comments about the hardships of finding a good paying job in Healthcare Administration is starting to discourage me i just started school for this and this gives me anxiety now like did i make a wise choice? I wanted to be done after the Bachelors but am i making a mistake?? What are some good paying entry level healthcare jobs i should be trying to look more into when im finished? I see the internships advice as well. Someone thats in this field and landed a good job help please.
Hello Professor Ashley, thanks for the awesome video. I have my AA in Health Services Mgmt, now working on my BA in Healthcare Administration. I’m an insurance specialist now, I’ve done 6 years of AR but have done medical billing since 2007. So now looking to advance to the next step. Thanks for the great tips.
Hi Professor Ashley, am working professional in Healthcare Management Services with 5 years of experience. Planning to do Masters in Healthcare management. Could you please suggest if this works for me
This is what happened to me. I have done health care administration as a master's degree. I have not had a job in 5 years dealing with my master's degree. I went into the social service sector and they paid me less. They refuse to give me any job as a health care administrator. So I was told I have to go back to school for nursing because they said that's the only way I can get into the health care administrator. Jobs is to go back to school for nursing. . I wasted 2 years. I am now in $100,000 in debt by the student loans and now they want me to go back to school to get at least an LPN in order for me to get a clinical or at least a managerial job in healthcare administration. If I was told that sooner I would have gone in first to get my LPN then go get the masters in health care administration. This system is messed up. I even applied for fellowships and I didn't get into any of them. I did volunteer work at a VA hospital and didn't even get a job there. It's horrible. I'm now still I'm not even in my field at all. I actually have to now go become a patient service representative in order for me to get into the health care sector. Sad truth
Omg I'm in the EXACT situation right now :( I'm thinking of changing careers completely out of healthcare. Side note...have you tried long term care? That's where all of my work experience is, but I wanted to branch out into a more clinical setting, but I haven't had any luck. I'm rooting for you sis!
Please don't be discouraged. Try again fellowships, i's a good way to fast track your career and make your application stand out. I'm so sorry for everything you have to go through
Hey honey where are you now. If I were you I would look into military and government jobs . They are looking for people with health administration and management degrees. No nursing degrees required at all. Hope all is well.
I got my degree in medical administration too. I have been getting a lot of interviews for medical receptionist but no offers. I am getting really frustrated. Please help!
I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe try building your network. I have a video on that: th-cam.com/video/T9hXaz1kOLs/w-d-xo.html Don't give up! This field is competitive but worth it!
