You can plug this in either way to accommodate any other device sharing the outlet. The time can be configured by going to the time.txt file that is saved on the SD card and changing it to the current date.

How many gigs can it hold on SD card? Because you will only get so much recording time before it starts re-recording... I can totally imagine a burglary while you are working 8 hours but OOOPS its been recorded over....

I turned on motion detection the way the instructions say to, it didn't do what it said it would at all and just blinked red like 5x and stopped. So no idea what the hell. Garbage.

A quick and dirty way to get motion recording,power it with a motion light with a plug assembly.

Does the wifi model show as an available network in the phone's wifi settings at all times? If so that'll kind of tell everyone in the place "you have a spy camera" when they search wifi networks.

I have the same issue. I set the time and date, but when I plug back into the wall cord the time seems to go back to what looks to be a factory setting. :(
They don't want you to know how to change that date/time

i have the same model but there is one problem.. i used a new sd card ... light came on .. and went off .. i filmed for about 5 minutes .. when i looked on my pc .. new files were there .. but no video in the video folder... (even with show hidden files) ... am i doing something wrong here ?
I had the same issue up until I opened with (windows media player)
the problem i had was the camera creating the Video FOLDER but no video Files but i let the camera on all night and it worked just fine and still good .

I have one doubt about his camera is this works without logging any backup power for this camera
It does have a small internal battery so it can do a shutdown process after its unplugged. The battery is only 80mah i think. Just big enough for it to be able to shut down to prevent corrupted videos

8 hours in "continuous record" or "motion detector only" mode??? NOWHERE in their product descriptions do they even loosely hint of it. because of that we won't purchase until Sentel starts to advertise that.

A black charger will draw attention right away. Any curious person will then fumble with the charger to find out that it’s a hidden camera. Now what? A fight? Lawsuit? I wonder if there’s one that’s more generic like any regular charger? Thx.

I’m a year late but it records in 5 minute increments. Unplugging it before 5 minutes has passed can result in corrupted video files. It has an internal power source to prevent corruption but its still possible.

The Mj8 & MX-20 are not WIFI cameras, which means the video can not be viewed on a smartphone.
PROBLEM IS... YOU KEEP PLUGGING IT IN UPSIDE-DOWN
IF THE APP HAS NO ROTATE OPTION... YOUR RECORDINGS WILL ALSO BE UPSIDE-DOWN.
USB SHOULD BE ON THE BOTTOM... NO CHANCE OF A CORD BLOCKING THE LENS
