I learned that a common pleco in a planted aquarium will devour stem plants if its not getting the food it needs. Mine loves cucumber slices and soft veggies. I now have floating plants in my 55 tank.
My pleco mr.dots I swear no matter how much I feed him I think he just likes destroying the plant leaves he crushes them and rips them up doesn't even try to eat them its like a toy
@@alannathewarrior2195 I learned to use fake plants on the bottom of the tank and live floating plants if you're going to have live plants with a plecostomus. Mine destroyed about 40 bucks worth of live plants. He dug them up and ate the roots. So, I figured I better figure out what they like to eat. Mine gets a cucumber chunk every other day. Ever since I started feeding him that his growth really took off. I got him in January of 23. It's mid September now. He went from about 3 inches to about 9 to 10 nose to tip of tail. I use a fork to weigh the cucumber chunk and I tie fishing line to the fork to retrieve it.
@@johnpotsch7349 iv been giving him so much food for years that his belly fat keeps his tail off the floor 🤣 and it seemed to work he now sits on one of the alive plants
Great looking aquarium 😁
Nice setup, minimalist is the way to go
