The Hellwaker is hands down my favorite shotgun in borderlands 3. I've been a longtime fan of the doom franchise and love the absurdly fastpaced style of doom eternal. So a shotgun with a reference to the series also being super strong and letting to play in a style similar to doom is all i could ask for. I love playing what I call Doomslayer Zane, where you got a whole lot of speed and damage and go around maximum speed tearing apart anyone unfortunate enough to be within the range of your shotgun.
It can world drop... i got one from a Tubbie before the first boss and was farming the Rakskag and it dropped at lv 7, and im still using it when at lv 30~35 💀 @nathanbrown7906
Was not expecting you to put the butcher above the hellwalker at number 1, but I honestly have to agree with you. It's my favourite shotgun in the game, even with that annoying sound it makes when you increase the fire rate
the thing make butcher more powerful than hellwalker is butcher can come with all element!. So basically, you can equip 2 or 3 butcher and can deal with almost everything. But cant with hellwalker. Imo, just equip relic+ shogun dam and equip both hellwalker and butcher( im flak)
I hadn't used the butcher since launch and thought I found some kind of glitch when it kept refilling the magazine upon firing. Gun does some great things with flak
Anyone reading this should try out the shocker, especially if you like the Lob. It's admittedly not much at first but it's special effect of splitting projectiles plus the fact it deals splash damage makes it fairly strong in the right hands.
The Fearmonger slowly became one of my most used and favorite shotguns in bl3 Once you fully understand its mechanics, it can become even moar stupidly OP when you have terror effects applied on you
Butcher is a great #1 but for me there's definitely a lean toward Jakobs if only because they're so reliable at launching enemies through the air with a well-placed shot. Even shotguns like the deathgrip with its laser grid and the thumper as a grenade launcher are fun. Great reloads/design too
The Lob burst fire "Nerf" made me start unironically saying "Cry about it" because the amount of people who said the "killed it" from the fire rate change was absurd
The Lob powerful but given it's slow projectile speed it takes way too long from my point of view to get this damage going. Why resort to a more or less solo target slow projectile speed weapong if you can blow all enemies up with the likes of a flakker (which imo totaly deserved at least a honorable mention K6)
I loved Jakobs' purple ones with x24 count... Will never forget how Ratore went through the Takedown with it... Was much fun on Moze when you landed a Crit with several pellets and a moment later it was raining blood and limbs...
I just started a moze run a week ago and got the butcher at first time lootogram(lvl 26) and im still using it at lvl45. It basically turned my playstyle into "point at the general direction of the enemy(because while firing continously i cant see the screen) hold down trigger and dont release until there are no red dots on your minimap" .
the butcher as number 1 shotgun is so nice to see man. For me it would be the anarchy, I just fell in love with the riccochet feature of it and to just slide with a toboggan and shoot the ground at full speed with zane and all the projectiles automatically hit all the enemies around.
Get you a Butcher with a god roll Super Soldier shield (preferably with a "On Action Skill Start" anoint.) Never run out of shotgun shells! I also like rocking a Cryo HeartBreaker with ASA or Consecutive Hits anoint. There'll be a lot broken hearts (and corpses) as you mow down the opposition!
Running a reflecting super soldier and butcher on my Zane rn 😍😍😍‼️ ive found some truly bomb shields this playthru but I can't bring myself to take the super soldier off 🤣🔥

I think the Trevonator is one of my favorite guns in the game. I don't use it as often because I've had horrible luck in this game. Think the best one I have was a Cryo/Radiation at 21k on my Moze. I can't seem to get anything stronger and I know it can get up to 29k.
I'm not saying it has the power to qualify for this list, but I absolutely love love love the BL3 version of the Flakker. It's the Torgueiest gun that ever Torgued.
@@axxjazz. True but Zane has a skill that makes him immune to all kinds of stuff like that. Which also leads to great fun like "what if I gave the clone a Mongol" and whatnot.
currently running the Butcher on Moze. Couldn't be having any more fun. never reloading whilst shredding through every single thing in front of me is beautiful. only problem is I can't see anything!
The most fun thing i have ever done and figured out: grab a Hellwalker... grab a Moze... put on the skill that gives you infinite ammo when you hop out of Ironbear... AND SPRAYYYYYYY!!

I'm glad they made the Butcher more like the BL2 one instead of the BL1 one that just had a fast fire rate and no ammo regen. That's what made the Butcher an absolute favourite of mine in BL2 (that and the fact it helped me revive myself against Loader Bots. Twice.)
I love using the Butcher on FL4K (I know there are better options) because their Orange skill tree makes the butcher pretty much never have to be reloaded as long as you're shooting enemies

The Butcher is by far my favorite shotgun in BL3 due to it's looks, what it can do, and when you combine it with FL4K's unlimited crit build. It deals SO MUCH DAMAGE i love it.
I think the Lob was kinda like the Linoge for k6 as I got it as world drop litterally every three seconds but I was a big fan of it so kind of a win imo
I got a hellwalker from Captain Traunt and its still my go to boss killer . I love using flaks skill and just destroying the bosses heslthbar instantly
I'm actually really surprised the fearmonger only made it onto the honourable mentions list, I think it's a super underrated shotgun. Back when bloody harvest was a yearly thing I remember using underleveled ones because it was just that good. I personally would have put it higher, but that's obviously my opinion. Awesome list though!
The Kill O the wisp was for a while my favourite shotgun but once I started moving into mayhem mode it fell off and I'm a bit sad because it was such a cool shotgun I didn't use it as a killer weapon and didn't expect it to do that but I really liked the ability to just shoot twice at a crowd before swapping guns and letting the balls strip the enemy shields
I love this game so much. The combat and the guns are just so elite. I'm so excited for wonderlands. I'm mainly a multiplayer guy but I've beaten bl3 twice now. And I'm almost done with my 3rd which is flak. Then I gotta beat all the dlcs before wonderlands lol. These videos are so fun to watch. I love shotguns!!
When you realize you have 2 number 3 shotguns in your bank both elemental… I’ve been sleeping on some of these but I have a few Trevonator in my bank as well can’t get rid of them because the backstory honestly made me cry not going to lie.

I’ve got a solid build right now using the Hellwalker. Because I use Zane (you have skills related to speed), the faster I travel, the more damage the Hellwalker does. Couple that with a class mod that increases shotgun damage, a shield that increases movement speed, and a Breaching Snowdrift...... almost nothing survives a sliding crit from this. And just to rub it in, mayhem speed demon modifier allows you to decimate bosses without breaking a sweat.
So... this popped up as a recommendation and I thought to myself "Hey. You found a pretty neat Shotgun. Mayyyyyybeeeee it's in this video" To make something clear: I don't have that much time to play. I haven't finished this beautiful game once, but I'm enjoying every single bit so far. As I was watching I nearly drooled myself over those amazing shotguns and wrote the places down you mentioned where they could be found. I was on the edge of my seat when the final 3 came on and screamed the hell out of my flat when I saw the "Hellwalker". Because that's the shotgun I found! Now I don't know anything about droprates and that stuff, but I can tell you I found my first one with Level 24 and had to wait a bit, because it was for Level 33. It helped me a lot during bossfights and stuff. After a while it seemed to be less effecitve and I was really bummed. But right there I found another one!! I'm proudly walking around with a "Hellwalker" Level 46. And I hope it will be by my side for a bit longer (currently Level 52). Thanks for the video. Now I want to find every single one of those beauties and enjoy them :)
speaking of returning weapons from BL2, the Fire Storm grenade felt a lot more fun with the longbow effect being that it was from Tina's DLC and was supposed to feel like a magic spell
I was hoping to see the Butcher and the Garcia on this list, got to see one but I can understand why the Garcia didn’t make the cut. It didn’t have a special quirk to it outside of a large ammo clip (and those are pretty easy to come by as you showed in the video)
I've always had such a big love for the lob, no matter how or when you're using it, a cryo or radiation lob will destroy everything. When a friend of mine told me people don't like the lob i was really surprised
I finished the entire Maliwan Takedown in Mayhem Mode 7 with the Butcher and the Hornet. With the Butcher being used 90 percent. And never ending Ammo.
Yeah, thanks for this new list K6! BL3 is great in the way the whole experience changes when you switch to another gun, and I'm sure going to give some of these shotguns a new try!
on my lvl 54 Amara I've got a Hellwalker, Butcher, cryo Faisor, Sickle , Trevonator & Sleeping Giant. it's the first time I've farmed for the best weapons and i feel like a god😂
I just started BL3. I waited to get into it til I finished the Wonderlands story cus I have a tendency to never finish a game when I get a new one. I got a Butcher to drop from one of those electric skags like 10 minutes into the actual game. 😂 I was very surprised cus all the weapon guides I watched, nobody said its a random world drop. It would have been EZ Mode if it didn't rip through all my ammo in 30 seconds cus I haven't even gotten to the ship to buy capacity upgrades yet. Thats something I gotta get used to... Wonderlands is way more generous with ammo. I only ever ran out of launcher ammo. But Loot Luck can eat a cat turd soufflé cus man is it nice getting a solid weapon before level 40. 😂
Honestly,the problem with the lob and pretty much radiation damage in general, is that enemies rarely stand still long enough for me to use it effectively and they spread themselves out too much for me to use it to hit multiple enemies at once. I was honestly confused how you could get enemies to stay still in any length of time as Moze and watch the enemies just stand there at let you nail them with that orb.
(Not so) Fun fact about the tiggs boom: Its NOT a shotgun. In fact its does not even have a weapon type. so any increases to shotgun damage will do nothing for it.
Omg..... I watched this whole list hoping for the butcher to get an honorable mention.... only to be #1! Ive been using a lvl 12 butcher since I bought it on sanctuary right before getting to promethea the first time. Yes, you can buy it from marcus' vending machines. Im lvl 22, and this thing is still outperforming legendary weapons on my lvl. Its beating out my infinity pistol lvl 22, and my maliwan legendary pistol. It also beats out my the cure lvl 22 from wainwright in the guns, love, and tentacles dlc im currently playing. The butcher is OP as hell!

I'm new to the bl series bl3 is my first and I'm still playing it, doing a mayhem 3 new game plus run at the moment, just finished the story on normal, and I got a butcher from a chest at the end from tannis, I was wondering why it was regening ammo but I didn't mind at all lol, and I'm playing zane with like a fire rate and speed build. So I'm just zooming around the map with basically an infinite ammo shotgun that shoots as fast as a minigun. This is fucking awesome and I love this game. (Coming from Year 1 destiny vet, and still play d2 pretty much every day) borderlands is def a nice change of pace and you make awesome vids btw, very beginner friendly so thank you!
Don’t care what anyone else says, the hellwalker is my favorite overall shotgun. Looks badass, sounds badass, has badass stats, plus doom, what’s there for me not to love lol :)
I have a next two mags corrosive butcher on my flak, and i need nothing else. It never finishes the magazine with the ammo regen of flak and keeps melting everything

Lob is literally just a link mechanic and a charge time away from ye aulde BFG9K from Quake 2. It's perfect.

The only problem with the butcher is that when it fires, the light covers such a big area that it makes it hard to trace moving enemies.

if you use the blast radius prefix and a good build for moze, the flacker destroys everything (that i fought)

Same..and running the Legendary mod that increases Moze's splash damage up to 100% the longer you go without reloading. I'm destroying everything!😂😂😂

The lob suprised the hell out of me,I had no clue it got a buff so when it started to one shot heavies in normal mode,I was pissing myself confused.

The faizor was such a fun weapon and I really like it a lot and it carried and did almost all my damage in most of my run through on TVHM

I finished the entire Maliwan Takedown in Mayhem Mode 7 with the Butcher and the Hornet. With the Butcher being used 90 percent. And never ending Ammo.
Shotguns In Borderlands 3 are extremely fun!

Yeah, thanks for this new list K6! BL3 is great in the way the whole experience changes when you switch to another gun, and I'm sure going to give some of these shotguns a new try!

The hell walker is a beast against psychos and bruisers
on my lvl 54 Amara I've got a Hellwalker, Butcher, cryo Faisor, Sickle , Trevonator & Sleeping Giant. it's the first time I've farmed for the best weapons and i feel like a god😂
Hellwalker is such a gun experience, its a fantastic fun
I remember getting the lob when I tried torque flak only and it carried me through normal mode and destroyed Troy easily
for a second i thought the butcher wasn't on this list and I was bit scared
What gearbox should have done is that all OP legendary weapons droped as a pearlescent. But I cant complain

I just started BL3. I waited to get into it til I finished the Wonderlands story cus I have a tendency to never finish a game when I get a new one.
I got a Butcher to drop from one of those electric skags like 10 minutes into the actual game. 😂
I was very surprised cus all the weapon guides I watched, nobody said its a random world drop.
It would have been EZ Mode if it didn't rip through all my ammo in 30 seconds cus I haven't even gotten to the ship to buy capacity upgrades yet.
Thats something I gotta get used to... Wonderlands is way more generous with ammo. I only ever ran out of launcher ammo.
But Loot Luck can eat a cat turd soufflé cus man is it nice getting a solid weapon before level 40. 😂
Honestly,the problem with the lob and pretty much radiation damage in general, is that enemies rarely stand still long enough for me to use it effectively and they spread themselves out too much for me to use it to hit multiple enemies at once. I was honestly confused how you could get enemies to stay still in any length of time as Moze and watch the enemies just stand there at let you nail them with that orb.
The firecracker from dlc 2. Barely anyone talks about it but the gun is pretty damn fun to use
Poor Shocker and Flakker didn't even get an honorable mention. At least the Slow Hand did. Favorite shotguns? Slow Hand, Anarchy, Tiggs' Boom, Butcher

(Not so) Fun fact about the tiggs boom: Its NOT a shotgun. In fact its does not even have a weapon type. so any increases to shotgun damage will do nothing for it.
There are a bunch out there. Boom Sickle gets shotgun. Needle Gun gets nothing. Blood Starved Beast get AR damage. Among others
Omg..... I watched this whole list hoping for the butcher to get an honorable mention.... only to be #1! Ive been using a lvl 12 butcher since I bought it on sanctuary right before getting to promethea the first time. Yes, you can buy it from marcus' vending machines. Im lvl 22, and this thing is still outperforming legendary weapons on my lvl. Its beating out my infinity pistol lvl 22, and my maliwan legendary pistol. It also beats out my the cure lvl 22 from wainwright in the guns, love, and tentacles dlc im currently playing. The butcher is OP as hell!
So far The Cure has been my favorite. Only two shots but hot damn!
The hellwalker is the best weapon in ffyl for me. Love this weapon

I'm new to the bl series bl3 is my first and I'm still playing it, doing a mayhem 3 new game plus run at the moment, just finished the story on normal, and I got a butcher from a chest at the end from tannis, I was wondering why it was regening ammo but I didn't mind at all lol, and I'm playing zane with like a fire rate and speed build. So I'm just zooming around the map with basically an infinite ammo shotgun that shoots as fast as a minigun. This is fucking awesome and I love this game. (Coming from Year 1 destiny vet, and still play d2 pretty much every day) borderlands is def a nice change of pace and you make awesome vids btw, very beginner friendly so thank you!

Don’t care what anyone else says, the hellwalker is my favorite overall shotgun. Looks badass, sounds badass, has badass stats, plus doom, what’s there for me not to love lol :)

On launch i actually loved the lob but ovb later in the game it fell off i cant wait to try its new op form
I have a next two mags corrosive butcher on my flak, and i need nothing else. It never finishes the magazine with the ammo regen of flak and keeps melting everything

On release i got the trevenator, that gun carried for a while. Mind u it ate all my ammo
I personally loved the one pump chump hands down fav shotgun
the faisor is super op, got one at level 16 and used it untill atlest like 29
I use a cryo butcher with the clone ammo regen annoint. Use it when very tanky enemies piss me off
