Although it was a failed attempt, but I think that many people will learn from this.
I think that the Apache RR 310's steel braided brake lines will be a perfect fit for your RTR 200. Both Front & Rear brake lines.
Although they are designed to handle the braking torque of a much powerful machine than the RTR 200 (over-designed for RTR 200), but it's always good to be on a safer side when it comes to braking.

I had tried the same experiment and had committed the same mistake as well.
So I had to install the pulsar 220's brakelinr on my rear brake. It made the rear brake sharper in contrast the the front brake, so I had to invest in another longer brakeline for the front brake.
I did find cheaper ones on banggood.com with choices based on different lengths.
You get one there or like another person has suggested or as visible in the RTR 200 race spec bike, you can use the RR 310's brakeline.
Hope you make a follow up video on this topic.

I changed the rubber brake lines of my Thunderbird 350 to steel braided ones with DOT 4 STP Synthetic brake fluid and oh boy there is so much improvement in braking. Now there is much more bite and that bite gradually increases the more i press the lever unlike before. Bike stops faster and surprisingly there is less wheel locking now🤔
I ordered the brake lines from AliExpress for just ₹600 each !! and brake fluid from Amazon 👍🏻
I was also going to swap the master cylinder with the one in RE 650/535 but that will most likely blow the piston seals to pieces xD
I may give it a try though but I'm satisfied for now

I've tried pulsar 220. Steel braided line on my Apache 160 (older model)
The braided line cable is enough for Apache 160 . And That's worked well too. Definitely braking pressure has increased or improve d.the braking sponginess has gone now.
But installation process is little bit tricky. The rubber mount of pulsar was not matched with the Apache rubber plate. So I tied the braided line with cable tie..

Title should've been big mistake of choosing the wrong length hose.
Could've measured length before buying the hose. I had Pulsar 220 hose on FZ and installed one for a friend's ZMA, but both were a bit shorter than stock, but fitted somehow, but when on centre stand, it looked scary as if gonna stretch and burst. Later swapped with generic longer ones from Amazon (but they are now insanely priced like HEL after lockdown). Like someone already mentioned, RS and Duke hoses are longer and for extra lenght, there is Continental GT hose.

Hey! I own an RTR 200 2018 Race edition 2.0. There's a problem I'm facing with my mileage and top speed. I've never got a mileage of above 30kmpl and when on the highway in a few different events, I was only able to get a top speed of 115-117 kmph. The bike has a very good acceleration till it gets to the 90s. On a daily ride on the wide city roads, I'm able to go upto 104 with ease, after which the bike just feels abused. It feels like the 5th gear isn't able to deliver power at all. In the 5th gear, I'm not able to take it beyond 7000 RPM no matter how hard I try. I've already tried to make my air fuel mixture richer by increasing the screw by about 3 turns; half turn at a time. The people at the service center are not even able to understand my problem. Please help.

I think that rubber hose has a braided steel inner tube inside or is double walled, nonetheless brake lines are one of the most heavily safety regulated and governed component on vehicles. Rubber brake hoses must stand up to 8,000 burst psi for 1-2 minutes before bursting and you achieve a few hundred to 1100 psi in daily traffic. In reality burst braking only lasts a second or two. I work with hydraulic cylinders and all rubber hoses have a braided inner core or are double walled. changing to braided steel probably wouldn't have done anything. the reason why it's for racing is because constantly braking in super bikes is extremely abusive. Thick steel lines can take up to 18,000 psi burst but race level superbikes have massive brakes, rotors and calipers pistons and go 250kph like nothing in seconds so they need those critical components. For a regular bike like ours I would just upgrade the fluid when it's time to change it.

    Here is my story:
I hated the brake lever feedback. And the long stopping distance. My 2003 Fiero F2 front brakes are much more predictable due to the feedback I get on the brake lever. So like you, I decided to get steel braided brake hose for my RTR 200.
Search for P220 brake hose began.....and ended after 3 days due to lack of time in exploring local market (service centres close by the time I leave office) and by the discovery that P220 brake hose is shorter.
Obviously none of the ABS brake hose will ever fit. RR310/Duke 390/Dominar brake hose idea out of the window.
    But...Duke 200 😈😈😈
Went to KTM service. Joy was short-lived since the brake hose has a steel tube/pipe hidden below the lower suspension clamp from where the hose crosses over to the left side since the disc on Duke 200 is on the left. Disappointed again (and here I escaped early from office to visit KTM service centre).
Finally found steel braided brake hose on Amazon with different length sizes. 50, 60, 90 & 120cm. Had to go for 90 cms. Better long than short, right?
Replaced my RTR's brake hose. Used TVS DOT4 brake fluid. Did bleeding removing every possible air presence. Bled again after 2 days. Little more air bubbles escaped.
Conclusion: Front brake feels much better now.
    Satisfaction level: Zero. Zilch. Nada.
I still press the front brake lever of every Apache I see in the service centre. God knows what TVS did in RTR200, but the brakes suck. While my front brake now feels much better than other RTR200s, the lever is still spongier than RTR180. Super lever feel on that bike on all old version Apaches. On RTR200 4V, it simply isn't satisfying/assuring. Sometimes I feel like installing RTR180 brake parts on my bike.
Bottom line: The effort wasn't worth it. And maybe, the hose I bought from Amazon isn't good quality. But review from other users for that hose was good. Just don't understand why TVS made such poor brakes for the RTR 200 4V.
If you ever find a solution or a good quality steel braided brake hose, do share with us on TH-cam.
Thank you for sharing this video with us.

Another great video, this time though I have a suggestion to make.. it would be really great if you mention on what parameters you compared the performance.. example braking time was better than before or feel of breaking was smoother.. also since it has started raining would love to see videos on maintenance during monsoon.. the RTR fuel opening has some space that is filled with water and drops into the tank while you open it for refueling..any tips? Thank you in advance.. cheers 🍻
