I have watched many videos on draws, and finally someone who does it propper! None of that «aim to the right» if im gonna learn it, im gonna learn it right.
wow this actually works hi Chris I'm 68 a 18 handicapper still quite nimble used your method of closing the face rather than turning my wrist never done this drill before but had great success yes there were quite a few that drew far too much but by moving the ball a little I started to find a position where I need to be at set up in relation to ball position which is exactly what you say ,funny thing which surprised me and maybe theres an answer for this that those few and I mean few that I hit that didn't draw went as straight as an arrow. with more practice will get better
These are EXCELLENT points, my friend. I hit this shot all the time, to a back-left pin, or into the wind. I always just think “ keep my arms close to me, throughout the swing”. This promotes the outward swing path that I need. Then, I’ll turn into the ball, feeling like I’m “hooding” the club a little. Works like a charm! I can also hit a low push-cut using this same concept. I’ll set up aiming left, and hold the face off through impact. People have to learn these things through experimentation. Get your butt to the range, and play around with the extremes of path, ball position, and face. Try to hit every shot possible, and remember the “feelings” that it takes to hit those shots. You’ll learn sooooo much about your swing, by doing this. Golf will become a lot more fun.
Hey Chris. Another well-done lesson. My natural shape is a baby draw, so need you to do a lesson on hitting a fade. I cannot hit a fade to save my life!!
Hey Chris. For the first time in like a decade of playing golf, I was able to draw the golf ball at the range. Did this with my irons and driver. It wasnt all my shots but this tip really helped! But I still tend to push the ball out to the right... When I try to release the club more, sometimes it works but sometimes it duck hooks. Maybe my wrists are out of position?
Interesting points on closing the club face. My instructor really just drilled into me bowing my wrist, DJ style. Bring it to the top, pause, look at my wrist flexion. Again and again. The other was to strengthen my grip, because I was pretty neutral and always left the face open. I tend to slide into a weak grip at address if unchecked for too long. So strong grip, wrist bow at top, didn't need to worry about turning the face over and I can still feel like I'm sweeping across the ball. Wondering what your thoughts were on that.
Hi Chris, excellent method for drawing the golf ball, however I’ve seen a lot of pros advocating a closed stance, and naturally promoting a in to out path, and as long as the face is closed to path it would automatically produce a draw. Do you also see this as an alternative? Great tips as always.
I personally like that method just have to be careful with your grip as a slight closing of the face at the wrong moment in time can lead to a snap hook.
Yep that is definitely an option and one that I would use in certain situations. This video was intended to help those who wanted to create a natural draw, so aiming at your target and producing a draw. If a golfer naturally has a straighter ball flight and they needed certain shots to draw I would look to alignment to do this, both would would only the right situation
Tbh in my experience the best lessons you can have are with pros that work with what you have, what comes natural. If you're a natural fader of the ball don't go chasing a draw. Unless you're prepared to put in serious practice time you'll likely end up worse.
Just a quick question if anyone can help to answer: to hit a draw I need a closed club face. Should I started with a slightly closed club face or start with squared face and closed it before hitting the ball? I rememeber in a previous video Chris talked about the motorcycle move to close the club face during releasing the club. Thanks
I was always taught to have the feet aligned to the right of the target also... Is this not true? Looks like yours are still aligned to the flag. Seems that if you do the way you are showing here, and swinging to the right of the target, one might bring the s-anks into the equation. No?
Aligning yourself to the right is an option yes, that can help love the club path in that direction. This vidoe was aimed a little more at those who would want their ‘natural’ swing to produce the draw. Changing alignment would be the option I would use for someone who didn’t naturally y hit a draw but needed that shape on a particular shot, hope that makes sense
Who needs to pay for lessons when you by far explain golf in simple terms. 100% the best on TH-cam.
always run to your channel every time i need a refreshers. excellent detailed explanation, and simple to follow. Thanks @ChrisRyanGolf
Thanks so much 🙏🏻

Great work Jamie, such an advantage to be bake to move the ball and create different shapes 👊
Had been putting the ball way forward in my stance and no amount of grip/face/swing change was helping me. Thank you so much 🥺
Another great video Chris .Golf can be simple. Thanks
Thanks Paul…. Can sometimes feel incredibly hard too 😬
Setup info was great. I found that an in to out swing bottoms out earlier and never heard anyone address this
Quality everytime 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Excellent instructions as always!!
Hi,tern our back to the target ,will help .thank you, good video like always.

Well don't know about a draw but it seriously straightened up my fade☺️👍
Hi Chris. Great video! Love your channel! Hope you can do the fade in the same manner!
Thanks Aart

Sounds perfect to me Cody, both of those changes wil close the face and sounds like they have, so perfect swing changes 🙏🏻
How do you lateral shift and squat as you drop your arms from a previous lesson?

Should the iron release and driver release feel the same?
I do the same technique for the driver ?
Yes you can and should give similar results 🙏🏻

Hey Albert, both are great ways to hit that shot, it’s best to try both during practice and see which works best for you, but both can and will work

I can turn the club 90 degrees from normal and still hit the next fairway
