    I have STEK dynoflex installed on my Model X. Needed two pieces due to the size of windshield. Happy with the installation. As recommended replaced OEM wipers with silicon wipers. Everything is fine until driving into the sun. The wiper scratches after 6-8 months is driving me crazy and has me questioning my rationale for installing. Some days I feel like just biting the bullet and pulling it off. Its supposed to have self healing properties . I am as picky as they come and my car is garage kept and totally covered in ppf. But I can't stop the build up of scratches nor have had much success using heat or hot water to diminish. While I appreciate the film offers some level of protection. I can't just drive on cloudy days.

    • @fhamre
      @fhamre ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TizzleT Yes to both. And boiling water as well. Its the clear coat on the film that scratches and is not so called self healing.

      That’s a bugger. I would just pull it off and have the natural glass.

    • @michaelsmith9308
      @michaelsmith9308 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      FYI, if you have a front license plate or vanity plate raise it up in the middle as much as possible (this plate) alone will detour nearly anything coming into the glass, secondly, use a glass glaze or was solution which acts as a barrier to most objects and causes it to repel away without damage. This has worked for me in the last forty years not one scratch-YES:) Now just drive an extra two or three car spaces away when driving over 50 MPH which any unknown road objects should miss your vehicle.

    • @purplemonkeys11

      I wanted to get this installed at my local tint shop and they said it's for preventing rock chips on your windshield and yes the wipers scratch the film like crazy. Lasts only a few months and you should only install it if you're planning to track your car so the film is more of a one time use. Plus, its really expensive.

    • @DekGT5mad
      @DekGT5mad 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@purplemonkeys11 obviously you use your wipers when the slightest drop of rain hits-let the screen get wet first. Secondly, you don't wash your car often or keep wiper blades in good condition. I can imagine you driving down the road with the classic windscreen wiper pattern of dirt around the edge of the screen. I've fitted some here in Australia and both cars still look like new after 3yrs-20,000km on one and 15,000km on the other so I'd say it's the way you treated it,not the product.
