Its just big and needs more hands, any experienced tinter will tell you the c4 is difficult many will turn it away

CA limits front tint to 70% VLT. This is illegal.

Sometimes we think 🤔 or I think, why is so expensive? And I have seen people doing tint before! They make it look easy and I have done it myself two times. But watching these guys putting a lot of attention to the tiny details, makes me understand why some places charge the money they do. Not all of them work at this level of professionalism 😀

At this shop they do all film this way and it’s expensive.
You would think that a template would be created from the first measured cut.

We’ve just tinted 2 of these this past weekend. I’d have to say shrinking it was very easy. It’s actually easier to wet shrink it vs dry shrink. You’ll be surprised. And def take off the mirror. It’s the easiest mirror to take off of all the other Teslas. You’ll cancel any chance of debri drilling towards the bottom.

Pretty sure the wiper will flip out fully like a normal car. The spring is just strong. Had the same experience changing wipers on a Y this week. They went back fine after I flipped them out.

The cybertruck windshield is borosilicate glass! Holy crap!
Everybody on TH-cam seems to overlook this amazing material because nobody seems to have a fucking clue as to what the hell borosilicate glass actually is.
It's not like any other ordinary window glass. I'll just say that it's stronger, and has other desirable properties. For example, all huge astronomical telescopes are made of a similar borosilicate glass. It's worth looking up.
Just a heads up I have a plaid and they say to never do the front windshield as the water will go down into the computer components etc. They being my guys that tinted and wrapped my car very professional and it made sense
They’ve been in business for many years and Joe has OCD, so they do it perfectly or not at all. I’m one of their customers, so I’m speaking from experience. They are certainly not the cheapest shop, because you pay for quality and everyone has years of experience. The ones without experience learn from the bottom up.
Some shops will do it, some won't. Notice all the precautious they took to catch and absorb the water around the bottom of the windshield.

The CT windshield actually has a slight curve built into it for wind buffeting reasons.
Question is do you keep the peel off film as your tinted vehicle library so it's easier to cut the film for the next identical model you're going to tint again or you just start from scratch?

Does the ct have a product in the glass like 3m crystalline? Similar to the X and range rover to block infrared light?
does it have a purple hue to it when in the sun?
You could run a string or a rope from the ceiling to hold the windshield wiper with a loop while you're doing the work that way you don't have to hold it lol

I loved the video, just a suggestions, hair nets, beard nets, clean room arm sleeves would help reduce waste after a difficult install. You guys are great. I would hire you! Yes, I have 2 on order, the beast is first, then the LR version. I would have you guys do both!

Looks great but my concern would be what insurance companies would say in the event of an accident and in particular at night. A 50% tint means 50% of visible light and allows only 50% to pass through. The possible liability is a bit risky. Hopefully clients sign a waiver for this tint work and hopefully owners ask their insurance company if this impacts insurability.

That windshield is the largest windshield on a production car in North America.
Your other video's said you were using Crystalline 20% front driver side door. Are you using Crystalline 50% on the Windshield. Have not seen you top tint but are you also using Crystalline 50% on the top? What about the back window?

Nice exercise, but it will be asked to be removed by the first police patrol that comes across that Cybertruck in the traffic: "Window Tint Laws by State"

In case of an accident it will also be interesting to see, if the liability will be extended to the company installing this kind of tint.

Not sure what they use exactly, but it's usually just soapy water. It makes it super easy to push out the air with the water.
i already tyed soapy water once, its destroying the glu so not a good mehtode to do this, simpel tab water works better but i never get good results out of it.@@HenryLoenwind

It depends on state laws in the US. This level of tint is not legal in my state.
Not legal in California either only the top four or five inches can be tinted from what I just read so I don't know how these guys are doing this and it being okay@@Bill_N_ATX

I suspect the sharp edges of the vehicle may prove problematic and become an obstacle to its licensing in Europe, where pedestrian safety is amongst the considerations.
I never knew people had windshields tinted in the US. That is illegal in my country to have any tinting, other than the few cm on top, on a frond wind screen.

There is not a car manufactured that has single pane windshield. They must all be laminated by federal regulations.
