Honestly the best review I've seen in a long time. I think, removing the silliness in favor of actual work, in this case, photojournalism, is a wonderful way to approach camera reviews. I really liked this one.
I have bad news: people often make inappropriate jokes. I'm not saying they should, but it does happen, and Kai's made them before. But that wasn't the point of this comment I made nearly a year ago. The point was that ninety-nine percent of DigitalRev's reviews are silly. Yes, they're doing work, but not /work/ like they're doing in this review. It was a refreshing change, and, unfortunately, not a permanent one.
Probably the best review I have yet seen on Digital rev. Very in depth. Covers nearly every aspect of the camera. And a bit of incidental journalism about the current democracy protests in HK to boot. And the Pulitzer goes to...
calaverasgrande Their shop and website are completely fine in the mainland, but not the videos, unfortunately. Nevertheless, they are not so famous in China, mainly because of the language issue.
The fact that Kai makes interesting silly reviews is the reason they are watched, like the BBC Top Gear and Jeremy Clarkson. It is actual work and excellent photojournalism because it draws attention to it. It is Kai's personality that makes these reviews special. Any serious journalist can do reviews, it takes someone special to make them witty and enjoyable!
Loved this video. More similar to the videos from about 2 years ago before DRTV with lots of sample photos and lots of actual reviewing while still keeping it entertaining. Keep up the awesome work, guys!
Fantastic combination of excellent - as usual - camera review with history in the making. Nice stills from Kai, and excellent video coverage by Look. Well done!
In the past few weeks, the quality of Digital rev's videos has been quite lower than what I'm used to expect from them. This video, however, was great. I feel they're back to what made this channel a success. Good reviews, done in a real life context (in this case the HK events, reportage style) with a little bit of fun. Great job guys, keep them coming
this is probably the Best digitalrev video so far: it's a good, informative (that's a surprise... kinda xD) and fun (as usual) camera review with a little bit of coverage and criticism of that awful socio-political situation they have over there. thanks and good luck!
I had the chance to play with the X100T yesterday at my local camera store with the Fuji rep showing us the list of new products that are coming out. HVF is awesome and the changes made to the camera does justify the upgrade to X100T from X100S...IMO.
Fujifilm probably won't be bothering with ff sensors as they are more expensive to make, needs bigger newer lenses and the x100 won't be comoact anymore which puts sony at the top For me,i think fuji should just keep their tradition of crop sensor cameras. They are mostly known for being low priced crop sensor cameras that are able to compete with the big boys
+ML K Dont agree. If the price of the full frame Sony and Leica cameras are anything to go by, it wont be happening. One of the great things about this camera is its price and its size. I very much doubt Fuji will be able to squeeze a full frame sensor into the current form factor and keep the price below US$1200. I think its more likely that they keep the cropped sensor, up the mega pixel slightly (maybe), faster chip set (almost certainly), include a faster / sharper lens (maybe an F1.8), improve the AF speed / low light performance and address the slightly average macro performance (as per the X70) and horrible video performance. I have heard that they may also include a tilt screen...pretty pointless if you ask me, but I know some street photographers love them! News on the grape fine is that the X100T replacement will be announced in September and will be called the X200. Everything will be revealed.
Firstly let me say that my heart goes out to you in this time of crisis. You've really kept a "stiff upper lip" during this crisis. Great review, great photojournalism, best wishes and stay safe please!
Strange thing it wasn't even mentioned: a huge plus for the X100T is the addition of the WiFi connecivity - a great stealthy way to shoot, especially for street photogs! Other than that I absolutely enjoyed the review, thanks Kai, Lok & DRTV team, stay safe ;)
Great review like a few more serious in depth reviews and you can feel the tension of the protest well done guys hope HK's future works out good as I have family there.
I've been looking forward to seeing some inside footage of the umbrella revolution from you guys, been to Hong Kong a couple of times, love it. All the best guys the world is watching, best wishes from your aussie mates
Got my X-T1 this summer, using it with K-mount glass, and loving it. An amazing camera. And in December it seems, there will be a big firmware update to give me the same features the X100T and X-T1 Graphite Silver has like 1/32000s, manual video and some other things, hopefully they'll address the video quality as well, or the manual video won't be very necessary...
It's nice actually that fuji doesn't change design too much. Most try too hard to make it look different. Really high flash syns is also one of most interesting features of X100. I want it, but for only one focal length it's too pricey for me :)
Enjoyed the current event information also added in. One of my favorite DigRev Videos, because I'm interested in a Nikon D750 but watched anyway. Wish much success to the Super Brave Occupy Movement. Not that I don't enjoy a lady pushing a cart picture LOL
Do an M240-P durability test next. They say its weather sealed and durable, show us how much Kai it can take. Also a feature on its video capabilities would be nice. It'd be cool to have Lok follow film with it for a while.
Was in Hong Kong 2 weeks ago, just before the protests before heading back to KL for another week. I had no idea about the protests even occurred until I got back into the UK last weekend. I'm amazed at the lack of coverage and public discussion the protests received in that part of Asia. Much to the constant chagrin of my girlfriend I insisted on looking out for Kai and Lok everywhere we went, you hide too well. Couldn't fail to notice the force 8 typhoon that rolled through town though...
played with GX-1, not convinced used an x-e1 -have been Super impressed Rivals 6D + L's, awesome to use quality is fantastic, a joy to use Waiting for X100t as pocketable day cam Canon & nikon recently said Large sensor mirrorless is the future Fuji making the running now but majors have seen they have some ground to make up let the battle begin.
Thank you for all the great videos, I check every day to see if you have put up any more, I am thinking of A visit to Hong Kong to get some great shops, Kevin,,
Awesome review! Thank you. Any improvements observed on focus speed with respect to earlier model? That's my main interest to find out before buying this one.
Honestly the best review I've seen in a long time. I think, removing the silliness in favor of actual work, in this case, photojournalism, is a wonderful way to approach camera reviews. I really liked this one.
You can thank the PRC for that!
Silly Kai probably would have ended up with an inadvertent durability test showing how well the X100T holds up to a pepper spray shower.
Chester Sellars tbh it wasn't really a time to be funny and joke around.....so it only makes sense that he was serious

Agreed, really enjoyed the handling of the subject matter in this one.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it :)
well its a camera Kai loves a lot so I guess he wanted to do a nice review on this one
I just ordered mine at amzn.to/1aZWEHs because of his video :)
probably could have got a better price at digitalrev.com, support the guys that make these vids!
Using the X100T for citizen journalism on the streets of the occupy movement.
YEYY THE X100T REVIEW AT LAST
Nifty... #OccupyCentral #UmbrellaRevolution
Good one! Nice to see you have the balls for citizen journalism and the brains to get a review on a somewhat discreet style of camera.
I hope you guys do more video with the movement its interesting seeing everything that's happening from a different point of view.
sad to see how far this has come... :/
Clever way to acknowledge the protests.
I like that it underlines that democracy and free markets are closely linked.
Would a DigitalRev be allowed to exist in Mainland China? I think not.
calaverasgrande Their shop and website are completely fine in the mainland, but not the videos, unfortunately. Nevertheless, they are not so famous in China, mainly because of the language issue.
I salute your effot to support the cause while still doing your job.

The best camera reviews and now sadly enough the best view into what's going on there. Better than our US 'news' sources.
Fantastic combination of excellent - as usual - camera review with history in the making. Nice stills from Kai, and excellent video coverage by Look. Well done!

Been a fan for a few years now. Thanks for doing this for us.
That optical hybrid viewfinder makes me wet
I kenw you would have done your review during the protests. I knew that! You're great more than ever guys! Stay safe!
All my support from Italy! 加油!
Amazing new video as always! I really like the depth here, and that new outro looks hot! Cheers!
I'm glad to see you did this review during the protests. Good one guys. Cheers!
I love this review. People search for camera reviews not to be entertained but to be informed about their next purchase; entertainment is just a plus.
Hey guys - Respect for showing some coverage of occupy central.
Stay safe and remember the world is with you.
Peace from Australia.
Great video. Probably the most interesting pictures I have ever seen on your channel.
Hey Kai & Lok, hope you're OK, please stay safe. I wanna enjoy more brilliant reviews like this for many years to come.
The "Top Gear" for camera lovers... Always love DR
this is probably the Best digitalrev video so far: it's a good, informative (that's a surprise... kinda xD) and fun (as usual) camera review with a little bit of coverage and criticism of that awful socio-political situation they have over there. thanks and good luck!
my english is so shit, I shouldn't bother to excuse it... Sorry!
That was the coolest video and to add a current event topic was awesome! Way to go and thanks for taking the time and energy for doing this video!
Congrats on the team for the snipet journalism amid a camera review, stay safe...
The best episode of this year after several months of crapulous Shark Jumping. Good, proper old-school classic Digital Rev. Excellent!
I had the chance to play with the X100T yesterday at my local camera store with the Fuji rep showing us the list of new products that are coming out. HVF is awesome and the changes made to the camera does justify the upgrade to X100T from X100S...IMO.
Thank you for filming this episode at the scene of our revolution!!!
I respect Digital Rev Tv for focusing on the camera and not the protest. Good job Kai and the team.
Dear Fujifilm, put a full frame sensor in the next X100 and put both Sony and Leica out of their miseries.
Fujifilm probably won't be bothering with ff sensors as they are more expensive to make, needs bigger newer lenses and the x100 won't be comoact anymore which puts sony at the top

Glad to see you guys keeping up the purpose of the review while doing some on the ground work
Thanks for doing the review and for showing footage "on-the-ground" at #OccupyCentral.
Brilliant. And your music choices are always great - which never interferes with the V.O./narration.
Thank you Kai and Lok for showing the world what's really happening.
We need the world to know and we need help.
Thank you so much!
whoah best review ever,u guys still working even thou theres a "situation" in HK,woah salute guys
I think this vid is the reason why Kai had to "relocate" back to the UK...
It's great that you are letting people know about protests! respect
What a way to introduce Fujifilm X100T on HK peaceful street demonstration @ Central HK.
Good on you for acknowledging the Hong Kong context. All the best to all of you.
Great review and it was nice to see a little photojournalism in with it!
Strange thing it wasn't even mentioned: a huge plus for the X100T is the addition of the WiFi connecivity - a great stealthy way to shoot, especially for street photogs!
Other than that I absolutely enjoyed the review, thanks Kai, Lok & DRTV team, stay safe ;)
he did 7:54
BatakGemblung I guess he didn't watch the video.
No. Wifi is stupid and gimmick feature.
Maybe the best DRTV video ever. Miss this so much!
rangefinder-ish focusing is the deal breaker! i'm sold!
Great review like a few more serious in depth reviews and you can feel the tension of the protest well done guys hope HK's future works out good as I have family there.
Thanks for spreading our voice to the world! Nice one DRTV!
That EVF / VF is amazing, I want that in every camera.
I want this camera. And thank you for the report from the protest, I really hope you guys will have democracy, you deserve it.
I liked the bit of news you threw in. Interesting stuff.
Well done for talking about the protests during this video.
Been thinking about you guys. Glad you're ok.
I've been looking forward to seeing some inside footage of the umbrella revolution from you guys, been to Hong Kong a couple of times, love it. All the best guys the world is watching, best wishes from your aussie mates
The right time to make this video !!! Great job !
Great shots, Kai. Stay safe!

Good review and great shots! Really interesting little camera
Kudos to you for doing this review during the occupy movement :)
great review as always guys. Great to see you down in the thick of it in Admiralty :)
Excellent and entertaining review - you should have your own TV show!
Kai, power to you and the great people of Hong Kong!
great work covering 2 topics in 1 video!
This is the best video you have ever done. Brave.
When I hear what was going down in Hong Kong first thing I thought of was Kai Man Wong and Lok...stay safe.
最有良心既一次review~身為香港人,為你們加油!
Great review and enjoyed some of your shots from this viddy.
It's nice actually that fuji doesn't change design too much. Most try too hard to make it look different. Really high flash syns is also one of most interesting features of X100. I want it, but for only one focal length it's too pricey for me :)
This will make the X100S a collectors item.
Excelent review, hope for the best in Hong Kong. Luck from Portugal!!
Finally - a camera review.
Hoping the whole DigitalRev teams stay sfae and well~
Thanks for the review on this particular camera. I enjoyed it.
Enjoyed the current event information also added in. One of my favorite DigRev Videos, because I'm interested in a Nikon D750 but watched anyway. Wish much success to the Super Brave Occupy Movement. Not that I don't enjoy a lady pushing a cart picture LOL
Great presentation again ! I hope you could share yours pictures of the protest.
Great video Kai, Keep up the citizen journalism if you can do it safely. Sweet looking Fuji X too. Love my X-E2.
The colors are so good.
I'm surprised they didn't touch more on the "Classic Chrome" film simulation and the ability to now customize the Q menu! All in all, great review!
Great work, guys! Camera seems very nice as well.
Yes, stay safe.
Cheers!
The hybrid VF for focusing help is genius.
Good review after long time :) thanks
Bring that style of digital rangefinder to the next X Pro and you have something amazing.
Good luck over there!
Nice review! Looking forward to ur d750 and 7d2 review!
what an atmosphere to review a Camera :)
Great video! Wish you guys luck over in Hong Kong to get democracy !! And a very nice review was this aswell :D
Thank you for posting so many informative and entertaining videos and reviews!! Will you be making a Nikon D750 review?
Holy crap a serious review! wow!
Do an M240-P durability test next. They say its weather sealed and durable, show us how much Kai it can take. Also a feature on its video capabilities would be nice. It'd be cool to have Lok follow film with it for a while.

DigitalRev, love how you aren't swayed by political issues. Love you forever!
Great review with some striking moments in hong kong. Is the phone Kai is using an iPhone 6?
This is bloody brilliant.
Kai, Lok, and company. Please stay safe during the upcoming months.
Need more review like this.. good job!
Can you say more about the quality of the film emulation modes? That seems like a great feature.
1:57 I saw that same angle shot Live on Sky News and i was hoping to see you lot in the background!
8:16 Now THAT is a picture!
Thank you for all the great videos, I check every day to see if you have put up any more, I am thinking of A visit to Hong Kong to get some great shops, Kevin,,
