    This is why if I open a business there will be sign reading:
    1. Be courteous to the employees, they aren't paid enough to put up with your attitude. (They will receive proper payment for those who will say something about that).
    2. If you want a refund, have the item, unopened, and the receipt. Absolutely no exceptions.
    3. No, you cannot see the manager. They WILL say the same thing.
    4. If you have any issues, take it up with the Complaints Department.
    There will be a gun hanging with "Complaints Department" written on the hilt.

    For the karen with the sushi, the correct way to handle that situation is to explain that you misread and thought the sushi was on sale, and as such you don't have enough money to pay for it, then ask if there any way the situation could be resolved.
    If you're nice they might tell you to just pay what you can and let you leave because people are a lot more willing to work with someone being nice over someone being an asshole.

    I read the lady in the hospital was informed after the first time that the oxygen was vital and not to turn it off and she did it again so she got arrested.
    Also the fire station one is ridiculous. I live next to a fire station but i was well aware of that moving in and it doesn’t bother me. So many times I’m quietly minding my own business watching YT and one of these inconsiderate idiots thunder past with the noise so loud that I have to turn up the volume on my headphones! The Hospital Karen as 11:30 reminded me of when my Karen of an aunt threw a hot cup of coffee at her elderly nursing home roommate because said roommate went to turn their air-conditioner off in NOVEMBER. The roommate ended up with mild burns, the family pressed charges and my aunt has been in solitary confinement ever since. The only reason my aunt avoided any consequences is because she has no source of income, is essentially bedridden and will likely spend the rest of her sorry life in a nursing home (she's been deemed unfit to care for herself and her only living relative (my father/her brother) refuses to take her in due to a laundry-list of horrible things she's done to him).

    I know a Karen that acts like a Karen. And she’s the around same age as my grandma (who’s 70). She was always right about everything (in her mind) and you couldn’t explain anything to her because she’s never wrong. She was a hoarder and her house burned down so my grandma took her in. She didn’t want to climb the stairs to get to the spare rooms at night, so she slept in the living room, in grandma’s remote controlled recliner at night. She took over the entire downstairs. Her crap was all over the the tables and floor. My grandma is very anal about how her house is, so it drove her insane. But she was trying to be nice for her friend. She’d known her since she was younger and Karen had taken care of her father before he passed and helped her through the death of her mother. She felt she owed it to Karen to put up with her for a while. Well, Karen’s car is packed full of crap, just like her house had been. There was barely any room in the back for a 3rd passenger and she’s had mice run across her dash multiple times. Well, she started bringing things from her car into the house and all of a sudden my grandma started finding ticks crawling everywhere. They were coming in from Karen. Karen got more and more disrespectful and Grandma found herself spending so much time in her room that she couldn’t enjoy her own home. So she kicked Karen out. Well, Karen through a fit and was forced to move in with her daughter. We saw her daughter in Walmart where she worked (we didn’t expect to see her there because we didn’t expect to be going to that area of the store). Grandma waved and she gave grandma a dirty look.

    I normally don't comment here but these subreddits made me learn something today. I learned that you are supposed to give tips in the USA and it's considered rude and cheap if you don't ever do it. As a non-American, I was a bit confused as to why it often came up that a Karen didn't leave a tip. Here in Sweden I assume it's normal to pay just the asked amount in a fine dining restaurant. But it's not like it's illegal to leave a tip. Makes me consider if I should do that when I feel like it was an extra good experience. I'm a bit socially awkward so I worry I'll come across as weird for doing that. I'm already a bit different from the average person (not like in a quirky way, I'm just under average in height and my age can be lied about successfully).

    • @tommyfox854
      @tommyfox854 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      The reasons why us Americans leave tips for them after their serves is because their paycheck is so awful that they actually rely on those tips to get by. You have no idea how much I wish I'm joking, but I'm not, that's the reality we Americans face; if you don't leave a tip, you're taking away much needed pay from the employee.

    • @SIS3W3N
      @SIS3W3N ปีที่แล้ว +11

      US labor laws allow restaurant owners to exploit tipping by paying their waitstaff far less than minimum wage. This has created a culture where customers are expected to tip regardless of the quality of service. Instead of being angry with the employer for paying them $2.13 per hour, waiters direct their anger at the customer. The entire situation is absurd, and the customers who are guilted into tipping extra or tipping for bad service are the real victims. The pandemic taught me that I can get by just fine without such establishments, and I have not been back since.

      @@SIS3W3N Fair point. I do hear of higher-ups taking the tips as well. I can imagine it being hard to know, as a customer, if you should leave a tip when you don't know who actually benefits from it.

    • @Sylfa

      In Sweden you don't need to tip, but if you go to a fancy restaurant as a big group and/or you get a lot of assistance from the waiters, where they go above and beyond what you'd expect then somewhere around 10% tip is considered the norm. But if all the interaction you have is that they take your order, drop off your food, then you pay in the bar or flag them down for the bill, 0% is the expected amount. And no tips if you pay up front, obviously.
      And yes, in Sweden the waiters are payed a fair wage, especially in fancier restaurants. Here it's the small places where everyone seems to be related where they are barely making ends meet, its hard to make a smaller take-out place generate enough profits, but they generally prefer loyal customers that come back regularly than a tip. Better for their economy to have people that come semi-regularly rather than the rare windfall of an extra 20-100 kr.

    3:55, I just wanna say. That as a Christian, I hate it when people act that and give the other 99.9% of Christian’s a bad reputation. That is not acceptable regardless of how you disagree with your beliefs. I personally believe the Bible. (There are many reasons why. I’m not going to get into them here.) but that doesn’t mean you can treat anyone else badly. Doesn’t mean that you have to change your beliefs. But treat people like you would anybody else. It’s one thing to have a legitimate discussion about beliefs as long as you aren’t going to try to cause problems. But refusing to tip and ruining a waiters day is NEVER acceptable.

    That Karen complaining about the fire trucks going on runs in the middle of the night reminded me of the people here in and around the Southern Ontario city I live , who bombarded 911 with complaint calls because an AMBER ALERT on their cell phones had woken them up in the middle of the night. I don't know when it happened...or maybe it's been happening so slowly and steadily that I never noticed until it reached critical mass...that people, of all ages, have become so selfish, self-centred, entitled, and completely devoid of any empathy for others. It was an Amber Alert, for crying out loud...I don't care if it interrupts my sleep, my dinner, my favourite TV show, or anything else. So I sit down on a box after and wait by the front of the store for him to pick me up. This lady and her poor daughter came to shop there. Lady sees me pick something I BOUGHT off the floor and place it in my pocket. Ok so it may look a bit like I’m stealing. I was putting the keychain I bought on my bag and something else I bought fell out of my pocket. This lady goes off about how she’s a cop and I’m stealing and I’m like but I paid for the stuff ask the cashier. The daughter was like it’s fine it’s ok but the mom man. She gave me this look thet made me squirm and apologize the whole time she was in the store.
