Audio-Technica A990Z - Unbox (such charming sound!!)

I will be testing A1000Z very soon, as A990Z ended up being such a surprisingly wonderful & enjoyable headphone. I think my permanent collection just found a new member. lessthanthree
Engrossing, warm and lush, with growling, thumping thick bass. Beautifully smooth, low fatigue treble with refreshingly focused detail. Vivid imaging in a just-right sized stage. Clear, organic, and totally satisfying vocals. Play any genre, any song - These headphones are happiness. (Too much bass for serious gaming or critical listening, but perfect for general music or movies)
This has to be my favorite phone(for music) I've tested so far at home...

i hate pleather in headsets. they always flake and get everywhere eventually. how to stop???

Well, you'd have to replace them, probably! I'm not sure what pads A990Z needs. It might use the same pads as AD900X. I can test it and let you know

Its a headphone, not a headset. Headsets are coming with a microphone.

They could work for mobile, but the cable is really long and curly
