Amazing how they put the hospital in that congested of an area....just looking at the flow of traffic vs when it's complete...it's gonna be crazy when the buses come in with patients..
Wow! I finally found a cool channel with time-lapse construction sites! Cool! Thanks dude! It is very interesting to observe and how an architect is very useful! I understand that editing a video is very long ?! It’s hard to imagine how much space the video takes))) That would be to get to such a construction site. Greetings from Russia
Interesting Video, but strange Set up, i think in Austria one or two excavtors with oil quick and a varity of implements and work tools, would do the same work, and there would be now or almost no hand shoveling and trenching and much less workforce needed. They use a tractor with a grading blade in the back, but dont have grading buckets for the excavators?
-Папа, зачем строители забор вокруг стройки ставят, чтобы не кто не видел что они там делают? -Нет сынок, это чтобы не кто не видел что они там не чего не делают! ))
Appreciating having this vids back again, I had a question u probably could answer that is what happens to that bottom tower section of crane which is embeded in concrete slab foundation, when the construction has ended? Is it removed? Just cut away? Left in place maybe? Thank you. And by the way why is the crane foundation so massive this time? I have seen such tower cranes installed before and none was featuring such a huge slab!
I'm not expert by any means, but I believe that the part encased in concrete just remains forever, but most of the bottom section unbolts from that. So the only part left is what is encased in the concrete. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about the slab size. Maybe there are some experts who can chime in.
@@HospitalConstruction the slab size was instead of pilings. That's on sand, as you can see from them digging a trench BY HAND near the beginning lol, and putting the slurry layer down before starting with rebar, and so you just need a really big heavy mat to spread the weight out, and by its extreme weight, compact the sand and provide stability. And yes, the bottom section of the tower base bolts on, and at the end it gets unbolted, the tower lifted off, and then torched flush and covered over.
Very interesting video.... I will be watching more thanks !!! Alot going on here But I have some observations 1. I’ve never seen a mobile crane with a dolly for its boom 2.don’t understand why no hardcore stone placed under crane or on the entrances/exit especially since some was on site
Why are all the wide open spaces farm boys thinking that they could do better on a tiny, inner city, hillside construction lot? Lol Yes, if you have room you can do better, but there is no way to not be chaotic on a tiny lot like this.
Hey i was wondering if i used your construction footage on some of my videos? Ill send credit your way and your video links incase people are interested in seeing more of your work hows that sound?
You're getting ahead to week 7 ;-) but, no hold, some construction is still allowed to continue, and that apparently includes them. I try to keep at least 6 feet away from the construction at all times, though!
I don’t get this craneboom dolly. In Europe they drive around like it supposed to be and in the US everything is made bigg and heavier only youre US tonnage is less then Metric tonnage and the roads can’t handle this? Where’s the logic in building bigger and heavier if the roads can’t handle it?
Yet most US semi-trucks are heavier than an average European semi-truck, which isn't exactly a great apples to apples comparison. At the end of the day it comes down to bureaucracy (maximum axle weights, permits to drive a large crane down the road, etc.). A dolly also allows the crane and boom to spin freely, meaning that the back of the vehicle will not swing outward when turning, but rather drag behind the rest of the vehicle. Again, not all cranes of this type need that large of a dolly, but most use one. I personally have never seen one with that long of a dolly. Most are only two axles in a tandem configuration, not not in the two plus one configuration as seen here (which is likely because of California having some of the most ridiculous Commercial vehicle laws in the US).
In the US we have what are known as Bridge laws, and it's a formula for how much weight can be on the road, based on the number of axles and the distance between axles. You can get overweight permits, but you still need to be below the bridge law figures unless you want to hire engineers to plan your route and calculate if the bridges can handle the weight. Basically the bridges are designed to handle a certain amount of weight per foot of bridge, and so the loads have to stay below there. So by adding more axles, and spreading them further apart, you can be heavier with less issues. In Europe, I would expect to see a crane that size with the boom shipped separately from the carrier and then assembled on site. Here they were able to extend the dolly and get a larger crane in a single trip.

we are very good in shooting vides and thank you. This is no way to mount a base. Here in Toronto Canada, we have different and way stronger and tougher and reinforced base when all said and done.
The particular way it's done is dependent on the soil conditions and special needs of the area. You can't really compare one area to another. Looking at the geology of Toronto I see a lot of sand. In SF you can see earth or clay. Look at the videos to come and then decide if your right.

what camera was used to make this video
Wasn't it necessary to use pile foundation?
Surprised no pilings to support the weight of the crane.
Huge concrete mat.
I'M SURPRISED the four concrete plinths had reached sufficient strength to take the weight of the crane section so quickly
A high-early strength mix. Really wasn't required to hold much weight in any event. Surprised that smaller crane wasn't able to make the pick.
@@ArthurDentZaphodBeeb mostlikely able to lift but not with the armlength
Ya, all they do is hold the base level in the middle of the footing slab until the slab gets poured around it. Not much weight really.
Anyone else randomly get this in their recommended? Still a cool video though.

I noticed the extension on the bottom was not even painted. To me, that means it is a sacrificial piece and will be left embedded in the concrete.
Yep the bottom section stays, either poured over or cut off. You cast it en-situ once level so thats that.
