Derelict Market Tavern Building being Demolished making way for new development in the Exchange Street Castlegate Area of Sheffield.
The builder was saying that this is the first stage of the pull down done by machine and rest by hand. They were only removing the upper floor by machine. He said the building was rotten and needed pulling down.
A lot of new developments in Sheffield and a lot of old buildings are being pulled down to make way for them.

Its a shame to tear down such a building, i thought such crimes were done in the 60s, but obviously some are still in this state of mind.

We don't mind that as long as they are post war 1960s or 70's. ! This pub dates from 1914 and the council took ownership of it
in 2006 and since then it's been a story of neglect and decline. At that time the building was in reasonable condition, but over the
years it has deteriorated dramatically to this point. What's the councils excuse for that I wonder
