I adopted a canary last year after watching your species spotlight video on it :) he was 3 months old and it took me a long time to tame him (irresponsible breeder, he was very sick and has a dysfunctional left eye) i paid very little money for him as the breeder said he was ‚defective‘) Vet bills were high and he had many many health issues, some that went away completely only recently. Hes my precious baby but i wouldn’t go through the same thing again, as much as i love helping borbs it was very stressful having a chronically ill pet that needed constant monitoring!
I have 14 budgies...some came to my house when they were lost and heard my other budgies in the aviary. My oldest ones are nearly 14 years old and some started to die of old age or get age related health problems, and it's so sad. I have 2 with special needs...one crossed beak that I trim and one skeletal problem for poor diet as a baby...he looks squashed, but he can still fly and perch. He is 8 now. I also have one with fatty lymphoma and she has to have special diet to help that...she is very slowly getting better. They all live outside in an aviary with some Chinese painted quails.
Aww-Aww! Thank you so much for sharing that beautiful Budgie habitat. You have thought of everything to secure health and comfort and quality of life. You've got a gift. You mentioned the hospital cage, that brought to mind that I would like to know how to be prepared, hypothetically, for such an emergency.
Such cute birdies. Our Sid heard them and get curious and watched the video, too😁. You give your budgies the best life they can have: free-flight over hours, toys, baths and healthy veggies👍
Your budgies are certainly adorable. Even my budgies enjoy hearing your birds; when I turn up the volume, my birds chirp away when they hear your birds. My birds are a little slower than yours; takes them longer to get going in the morning after I uncover the cages, whereas your budgies just take off when they fly out of the cage. Mine have gotten better at eating veggies, but still crave seeds. I do keep the cages clean by changing out the paper regularly.
Hiya Donna, i really love looking at your little budgies and your bird room in general.I do not think your birdies keets go without anything they can have.Even the way you have their baths.I wish my bird would take a nice bath.Your bird room is sure a “ HAPPY PLACE “. ❤️😊
Dear Donna. thank you very much for sending me some information about cages. In the mean while I ve bought a cage already. The reason is I am expecting my girlfriends father and his budgie, coming from Ukraine, soon. They ve to leave the country because of the war. Before they arrive I want to be prepared as much as possible. The cage is from the brand Montana 36120 Memphis III. It is made of none toxic powder coating. The sizes are 84x48x154 cm (33 x 18,90 x 60,63 inch). The budgie, named Kesha, will use the cage for sleeping and his "room". Kesha is used to live out of the cage most of the time. Also big thanks for this beautiful and educational video about your lovely budgies. It felt like you made this video just for me.....😀
Aaah I got two lovely mini budgies, the adorable tiny ones. One was snow white with back eyes and one a stunning cobalt blue. I had them a week before I opened the cage to fix things up a bit for them and they both flew straight out past my ears never to be seen again. I couldn't believe how well they could fly, just like swifs. They turned side ways mid flight like fighter jets to avoid my head, one each side. They knew exactly what they were doing. I turned around and saw them doing the same thing straight through the branches of the trees and were gone. Our climate is suitable for budgies so I guess they could still be out there, plenty of grass seed for them to eat. I never replaced them. A very brief budgie happening. I love their chitty chat its very soothing, but maybe cages are just not for them.
Very sweet birds, and so happy flying around together all day. How do you keep them from fighting? I have three and the budgies want to troll the parrotlet all day. They’re such fun little birds, but I find mine to be little nuggets of trolliness sometimes :) How do you keep yours so well behaved?
Just love budgies..... Great video and lucky birds! I will have to check out your video on sprouted millet since Keiko loves his millet... he's 9 1/2. Time to change Keiko's water and seeds before he goes to bed ... he's busy chattering right now. Your budgies look very healthy!
I have two of those sized cages and two budgies. Both are 6 years old. They love sprouts. I trained my birds to go inside their cages by emulating a sunset. I use the smart bulbs to slowly dim until they turn off.
LOL I cannot hear this video at all on a speaker. My budgies are trying to be louder. Successfully I might add. Time to break out the headset! Love the colors on Stirling. I think some of mine are half English too, they are huge compared to my smaller 2. My 5 budgies are obsessed with going into my cockatiels cage, after I let everyone out. I let me budgies out at noon, and in bed at 8pm. The cockatiels are out from 8am to 8pm though. If I have the budgies out in the morning the cockatiels don't get enough time to themselves to eat their veggies. My male budgie Sunny is obsessed with following around my male cockatiel. Love budgies, they were my first bird species, I have 3 female and 2 male, but they never breed. Is that normal? I even got a breeding box, and no one was interested in it. They are all 3 years old now.
Just curious - how long do you leave their fresh food out for them? I've heard it's only safe to leave it out for a few hours, so I'm never sure if my budgie eats much of what I give him in that time span.
Hi, it depends on the food that you are leaving out. Fresh raw foods can be left out all day. Cooked foods can spoil faster. Give enough portion so that eat it within a few hours.
Oh, how I'd like my three budgies to eat veggies. They ignore everything except seeds and millet. I've tired sprinkling seeds on squash, apple, and broccoli...and they stay away as if in fear!

This place is quite large and surprisingly very clean. I wonder how much efforts you put into it. Please make a maintenance video too.
Omg… what I’d do to have a bird room that amazing! Good to find a channel encouraging such a high quality of life for budgies!
Thank you so much!
If there was a class system in budgie culture, your budgies would be the 1% haha great job. Love the birds, all of em!

Your budgies are beautiful and seem to be so happy! They have a great life! You take such good care of them as you do with all of your birds!
They are so cute and lucky at the same time. 🥰 100K soon✨
I just love those blue budgies they seem to be little messengers from the skies

Hope you don't mind me asking, do you have one of this as a pet?

I love this place and your birds!❤
The enrichment features you provide for these budgies is incredible. Green and yellow are my favourites but Splash sure has a winning personality.

@@Loveofpets Good idea. Thanks for the info!😁
Is it recommended to mix Australians and English budgies??
What's better in life than budgies?

I just saw a 3 year old video where you introduced a female blue budgie to the all male group, what happened to her? Did the males fight over her?
Hi, yes the males fought over her. They fought so much that they hurt each other, it was horrible. I had to find her another home.

Does your dog not bother the birds?
I hate seeing birds in cages . In the wild they would have territorial areas over miles .
1) why are you here then
2) birds born in captivity aren't able to survive a week in the wild
