Which tuning are you using on this one, and then also for the benders are you setting those for a whole step or a half step or etc. tell me more? Just diggin' the tones, need more details.
Open D Tuning. The 3rd string is half step, and the 2nd string is full step bend.
This is one of the better videos I've seen with making open d sound more like a pedal steel, usually they end up sounding more like an electric dobro
Do you think the certano roller nut would be necessary as well for tuning stability? Sounds amazing.
You could probably get by without it but you might wind up breaking strings more often. And as far as tuning goes I’m not sure on that.
It’s not so much the nut, it’s more the bridge! You should definitely spend the extra bucks on David Certano’s roller bridge. I’m using this combo on a Recording King, which has a steep string angle on the bridge. The bending action is getting much smoother and you gain more control.
My fav is the G maj - G min - D lick, where you have to play a “half-bend” on the 2nd string to get the G min chord. This works best with the roller bridge.
