Description:
“Unsullied” is a piece that visualizes the beauty and simplicity of being in one’s own world, unbothered and unaffected by the outside world. This duet intends to dramatically depict the purity of human nature and our relationships with one another, despite the brutality of wars, the fight for power within the palace, and even conflict amongst commoners in traditional Chinese society. Throughout the duet, the dancers cross paths without interacting with each other until they finally become one at the end of the dance.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of our organization at UC Berkeley, Fei Tian Dancers hosted a grand showcase of cultural heritage on March 11, 2023. With preparation beginning a year in advance in May 2022, AAPI student groups presented a culmination of the past year’s efforts onstage at the “Heritage 传承” showcase. Focusing on Chinese dance & featuring various other traditional Asian art forms, “Heritage 传承” is an artistic representation of the journey of our ancestors as visualized by the diaspora.
