Description:
"Beauty" is a Korean ethnic traditional dance that focuses on a young wife who longs for her soldier husband's return from battle. She reminisces on all their happy memories before realizing once again that she is still waiting for him to come back. Korean ethnic dance refers to the dance tradition of Chaoxian people who live in northeastern China. A majority of the Chaoxian people are descendants of immigrants from Korea and they are recognized in China as one of 55 ethnic minority groups.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of our organization at UC Berkeley, Fei Tian Dancers hosted a grand showcase of cultural heritage on March 11, 2023. With preparation beginning a year in advance in May 2022, AAPI student groups presented a culmination of the past year’s efforts onstage at the “Heritage 传承” showcase. Focusing on Chinese dance & featuring various other traditional Asian art forms, “Heritage 传承” is an artistic representation of the journey of our ancestors as visualized by the diaspora.
