Short answer: 100%. As a Final Fantasy veteran myself, this is the cutest and greatest Final Fantasy game I have played in the last 15 years. With aesthetically pleasing environments, beautiful graphics, lovable characters and an addicting battle system, I have not put the game down since I bought it a few days ago. The mix between the classic battle system from the oldest final fantasy games with a touch of Octopath/Pokémon, and you have this beauty of a game. If you are on the fence about it, buy it. For a $39.99 game, it’s definitely worth your money!!!!

Something that not a lot of people talk about this game, it's the eargasmic soundtrack. It's so good. A lot of new songs (Icicle Ridge song is wow) and remix made by Masashi Hamauzu. 😁
I kind of disagree with your feelings towards the plot though. Honestly the "absence" of the story in first half of the plot is the reason WHY the sudden tone change and plot twist works so well for me. Not to mention the complete lore surrounding the game (if you like reading) and it's amazingly complex. I recommend looking more into it.

im suprise Nintendo didnt sue Square Enix for this game pokemon mechanic, but they sue Pal World instead. I wonder if it is not the patern that they are protecting or its something else. one could only guess
In 2024 and im still playing this game. The market for it is big. If they expand this make several switch entries, promote marketing for it this can be a huge seller for them. Also still better than FF16 was a bit let down by that one
That's really great game. Rating 7,8/10 for me. I really want it's sequel. You know that there's Sora Champion that's really awesome(who's the one that's not pure FF character) if you got the DLC(I dunno is that available now. ).
I had a look and Sora was only available for a few weeks (until March 31st, 2017) to commemorate the release of Kingdom Hearts 2.8. Bit of a bummer they got rid of the DLC, but it was cool that those who got the game back in 2016 and 2017 were able to get him for free.

I just remember this game existed like a week ago and boom, this pops up in my feed lol. I think when I played the Vita demo I ended up not liking it. the stacking mechanic seemed either uninteresting or overly complicated to me back then. But this really makes the entire game's battle system and even overall difficulty something I think I'd be interested in. Might give it a go after I finish my current queue of games
Shit talking FFX in 2023? Stop. FFX came out 17 years before World of FF. Every game has flaws and everyone has personal taste, but the slander against FFX is unnecessary and adds nothing to this review. If anything, it shows your bias and removes your credibility to reasonably review this game. Thumbs down.
Its a game that has alot of content, likeable characters, pretty captivating story with a great theme and tone. Its Nomura at its best. One Game with no other games to convolute the plot. Think Kingdom Hearts, without 2 and 3 and all the other games. pretty good, great gameplay. Not much strategy in combat, but outside of combat, and preparing best for a fight, is where the game shines, which is a downside imo. If we could swap Mirages mid combat, I would think differently, but its outside of combat set up is top notch.
If you're disappointed with the quality of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, then this game might better sate your desire for a budget 3rd Party monster collecting installment of a long running JRPG series with 3D Chibi characters that was supposed to hold the audience over with an expanded version of the classic gameplay of a title that was originally designed for much weaker handheld hardware (the DS/Vita, respectively) while a major 1st Party Open World installment (Legends Arceus and XV, respectively) was in production.
The one gripe I always had with this game is having only two party members. It feels way too light on customisation, and the stacking is just ridiculous I'm sorry. I would have preferred if the game had 4 party members and some light stacking features but not two piles of 3 it just looks and feel so wrong. I bought it on Steam and regretted it really fast.
Hmm the game will lose a lot of its magic if you never really played a FF because of all the fan service. I would only still suggest it if you're a fan of Pokemon games because it is quite similar to those.

I have not played many FF games but, being a huge fan of Dragon Quest and loving the similar look and concept of World of Final Fantasy I decided to give it a try. I made it about 15 hours in and had to stop. I'm glad people find enjoyment in this...but for me the poor writing, cumbersome game mechanics and glacial pacing dragged my interest into the dirt. The stacking mechanic was more annoying/confusing/busy-work than interesting, the "random" (every 15 seconds) encounters killed all enjoyment of exploring and the writing seemed to be produced by an earnest yet untalented high-schooler. I wanted to enjoy this game...but it did everything in its power to make sure I didn't. Guess I will go back the the much superior Dragon Quest XI or Ni No Kuni.
I honestly don’t get what your problem with FF10 is, by far this game is worse than FF10 in terms of combat, story and world building. Play the remaster of FF10 and you can skip cutscenes, learn how to use the menus properly (this goes for every turn based FF title) and the combat isn’t slow, and on top of that most encounters in World of Final Fantasy are trivial unlike FF10 which actually makes you think about your strategy when dealing with bosses. World of Final Fantasy is just the FF series being dumbed down to the level of Pokémon these days, just brain dead in terms of combat where you can beat every boss without thinking about the mechanics that they put into game

If you enjoy chibis and older ff characters appearing in that form, this is totally the game for you.

I played the demo for it. Much better than any of the main titles in years just based on the demo. I’ll have to get it eventually.

They're perfectly okay. The keys are not rebindable, but the keyboard prompts are shown instead of simply pasting Xbox controller's UI.

Unfortunately, Sephiroth and Sora were limited time dlc champions so they're no longer available. Not included in the maxima edition.

I played it on Vita too, but maxima released in 2018 for all major consoles at the time, so you can't really blame the Vita here
