what type of ride did this give you was it a stiff ride because i have a 2006 chevy cobalt and the ride is stiff where i feel every bump in the road and i hate it.And i have new struts and shocks and new tires.
Hooking that Cobalt up! I just picked up a 07 Pontiac G5 so, its all new to me & I am not 2 familiar with it yet but, I just last night & today, installed new front lower control arms (Fe1)... What a nightmare!!! I never imagined it would be so hard! I don't have a garage & it is FREEZING/ BELOW FREEZING! I watched someone else's video & they said to use 9/16ths bolts for the rear bushing on the front lower control arm! So, I picked up 9/16ths bolts, flat washers, & lock washers, & the matching nuts. As I was finally getting the bolt in & tightening it, it started to tighten but still spins & does not tighten so, I took the bolt out again, added a flat washer between the head of the bolt & the bottom of the pocket then, above the top of the pocket, the cage for the bolt, I removed the original nut & installed a lock washer & nut, tried tightening again & still, it just keeps spinning & never gets tight even though i wedged the nut with a air hammer chizle. so, I double nutted it! Qas able to put the second nut on & it dropped down threw the hole in the cage until it was up against the 1st nut. Im scared that its not right because, It will not tighten up!!!!!!!! & dont know what to do? I have to be at work tomorrow night, I am blocked in right now & cleaning up my tools! I accidentally cut into the frame pocket while trying to cut the bolt & seized center bushing so, I welded that up & getn ready to apply some black paint!!! what do u recommend?
Anyone else see the message on the white board from Randy??!!!.nice job on the rebuild,,gonna be a stout little car when finished,,,,.I think this car is gonna hurt some feelings on the streets..🤘
like every other vehicle i've owned, I will get around to rebuilding every part of my G5 eventually! Mine has its own issues! The trans linkage isn't rite! There is a code for it plus i can down shift & nothing happens! Also, I can remove it from park without applying the brake! I think I know why that is! It came from a buy here pay here place! easier to tow!!!! but i want to be able to downshift when needed & Mostly, I just want it to be right & no codes! I installed a timing tensioner to get rid of the slight tapping (just for a second at start up) but, as soon as it warms up, I will install new timing chains, guides, tensioners, oiler & cam gears & new cover with oil pump! Any advice for adjusting the linkage?
I remember doing the springs on the back of the gfs summer car (Cobalt) and I fought getting the stock spring shoved in there with the rear torsion deal. Looks like those slid in pretty easy
I'd get it running and drive around before I made any final decisions. Years ago I bought a set of function and form coil overs for a Honda. They settled almost an inch after about 100 miles of driving.
Great job Rob that’s a massive job taking one car all apart and rebuilding one from two I have done this to a 2003 explorer

I hope you clean that tape measure after Randy Put it You know where
I wont touch that tape measure with a ten foot pole.

Are those coilovers gonna make the car drive like juck, winnipeg streets suck.
They don't change the spring rate so it should drive like stock
You not work on this anymore
Its my daughters car and she has just been driving it,we are planning to do some upgrades soon.
Power through!
