My spokes are rusty and I shall do rust removal, polish and clean ... but I was wondering if I should spray a clear coating on the reburbished spokes to minimise ongoing problems. Is there any aerosol sprays that anyone can recommend? I was thinking of something from the Rustoleum product range, but I've got no idea what's best. Suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.
Can you explain the mix of water and bicarb that's used what size battery you use . If the bath only covers half the wheel , do you have to hook up 1 spoke at a time . How long does it take the rust to come off ? Is it industrial bicarb ? Will it damage the aluminium part of the motocross rim if I submerge them
I use baking soda from the grocery store, the battery I used was from a compact car and the charger I used was about 5amps. It took about 30 minutes for each section. If you were to remove the wheel bearings and submerse the entire wheel it would be much faster. If your aluminum rims are plated/ anodized then yes this would damage them. Painted wheels can also get damaged depending on the coating. I prefer to relace the wheels and use electrolysis for individual parts that are difficult to replace.
Bruh the title of this video should have been how to flip your wheels. 😂
"Removing Rust From Motorcycle Spokes"..... conclution replace whole rim.
Aluminum foil works great too. It’s a lot of manual labor but it works.
I used SOS pads and had good results. A lot of work. But cleaned the spots nicely.
Electrolysis...Awesome idea!
Try tin foil with a chrome polishing paste. Just did mine yesterday
be interesting to see a video describing at what point rust will compromise the integrity of a spoke wheel to the point it is too dangerous to ride on
Good video 🤙
Thank youuuuuu!

Where can you find takeoff from a 48 for 400 bucks
Orange County CA offerup
Powder coated them
Does the electrolysis hurt the paint on the rims?
On certain wheels, electrolysis will remove the paint. These ones will not be affected.
What a BS title. Better call it : Getting nice wheels when lazy.
spokes were never created for motorcycles.
But a spoked wheel on any vehicle or bicycle will also rust so your point is…. pointless.
How to remove rust from your spokes, sell them and buy new ones. 🤨
