We finally have a CRX!!!!! Been seeing this on the back ground from previous episodes. Ah… the infamous tap on starter. Haha… Def making my Saturday mornings very pleasant with a new upload from AHC garage team. Can’t wait until next week. Between you and CRXSeth, I am so tempted to get a CRX.

I love this car back in 1990, at that time, I am still In HighSchool and have no money to buy. Now have the money but couldn’t find this kind of car. I love this car specially Stick shift!
Sweeeeeeet!!! 91 CRX Si facelift was my first Honda back in the day, but here in Australia the Si had the dohc d16a, ac, discs all round etc... my sunroof def didn’t have that black strip, it was completely colour coded... such an amazing car, looking forward to this series!
Being an crx owner , im really happy to see ahc garage working on one , no the sunroof is not supposed to be 2 color … and i have a couple of new parts (oem honda bnib) for a usdm like yours ( still keeping some for mine) continue the good work, and dont forget rust hide on these cars… behind triangle , under the wiper cowl , underneath door hinge
Beautiful car. I saw the NJ plates and I was like, yall done for, car is going to be melted. After the walk-around you found a gem, it was taken care of, kept in the garage. Looking forward to seeing it restored.
Keen to see this CRX get a new lease on life even though she's still alive and quite well for her age :) Rust is literally the only thing wrong with it. That and the starter ;) I like hearing from Brian about the paintwork and the detailed breakdowns he gives. I'm a mechanic so when Jon and Miguel speak/do their thing I'm in my comfort zone but when it comes to paint, I don't know that much :)
I had a Red 1989 SI back in early 90's ... I had that car apart and did an awesome Rockford Fosgate Stereo system in it ... such a fun car till I crashed it and bent the frame.
great build! Im sure you guys will do great things with it. Maybe should do a 7th gen Accord and a EP3 next, would love to see a build on both of those!

My first car was a red 88 si. The sunroof should all be body colored. The previous owner must have tried to stop the rust. The sunroofs on the si are prone to this rust. Just keep her clean!
Good luck on the project. Curious to see how it turns out. I love CRXs and am lucky enough to own two, however they are first gens. My 85 is all stock with 75k miles and working AC, cassette radio, etc. my 86 CRX Si is far from stock with a JDM K24a like the USDM K24a2 in the TSX. It makes 220 hp and 200 ft lbs to the tires. Looking at repainting both cars so interested in your approach to this mini restoration

I bought one of these in 1996 with 34k when I was 18 years old.same color and I wish I still had it 😢. That black strip on the sunroof is definitely not original
its not the starter, its ignition switch! the connection in the switch get old. ps the sunroof does not came like that, it was paint black to stop corrosion.
it look everything on car is original, including oil pan. im From nj, my first crx 2000. i done did everything you think. Ps that manual steering rack!!!! they call it 3 1/2 turn, that mean the steering turns in both directions (3 1/2) for easy pulling out parallel park. need more information or details lmk!
Seems like that guy is always ripping on Brian, quality paint and body takes time and finding a guy that does the quality of work he does isn’t easy! Give the man a break!
To answer Brian's question about the sunroof-someone added the black paint sometime during the vehicle's history. All sunroofs were painted to match the exterior color.

Make sure to re-do those seam sealers around the hatch etc. Original seamsealer cracks and causes a waterleak around the hinges.
