Taylor decided to adopt Jordan - an ex racing greyhound. She was anxious and had destructive behaviour, she lost her puppies. She then decided it was a good idea to get another dog - Sharkie, who is also an ex racing greyhound. His teeth were in bad condition - but he wasn’t anxious. Together they helped each other overcome their anxieties. Now they live happily in their forever home and have endless amounts of energy.

Two dogs finding their forever home, what could be better than that?
My heart goes out to this breed as they make brilliant pets and their nature is placid and gentle they sometimes can be nervous and so many of these dogs are abandoned because they can't race anymore so the owners never loved the dogs they just treated as a money making object then they are just tossed out like garbage or put to sleep it's awful for many of these dogs but thankyou to this lady for rescuing these dogs I'm not sure if it's like that in the USA as I'm from the uk 🇬🇧 🐾♥️🐾🥰🐾
They’re really such amazing dogs, and the way a lot of them get treated in the racing industry is awful. Taylor gave Sharkie and Jordan the best home they could ever ask for 💜🥰
Yes, it's the same in the US. When I lived in San Diego, California, there was an attempt by the racing industry to bring it to our city, which was up to a vote by the residents. I remember arguing with a promoter about the sport itself, and the life of the dogs - he claimed that all retired dogs would be given good homes. What a liar - everybody knew the ugly truth and it was voted down - no dog racing in San Diego County.
They are amazing and their personalities stand out compared to other breeds. To me, they are perfect.

We had an ex racer, 9 yrs old, she would never push or demand attention but you made a fuss of her she was SO pleased and, yes, grateful. She was never a bit of trouble and died at night aged 14. The best thing to groom her with was an old hacksaw blade, she was a the most beautiful soul! XXX

I’ve had greyhounds since 2007, and I feel so blessed to have them in my life. Greys are like no other breed. I took my one to a new vet in December and no one there had ever seen a greyhound in the flesh. They saw us get out of the car and by the time we got inside, folks were lined up to pet him and marvel at how soft his coat is. ❤️

@@verali164 I’m not sure your reply was meant for me. I’m a huge advocate for rescuing greyhounds. My first one came to me from Mexico when I lived in California. I also adopted another after I moved to the southeast and we now live in western New York where he loves to romp in the snow. Of course, he has winter gear to keep him warm inside and when we go out. My world revolves around my sweet boy ❤️

@@verali164 We live in an region of small towns scattered across the western part of New York State. When we first arrived last year and I walked Harley along the sidewalks around town, people were quick to stop and ask about ‘what breed is that’. He’s a very friendly and polite dog and loves to receive petting from people, many of whom had only seen greyhounds on tv and in newsreels of racing. I had called ahead to the veterinary office that we needed to have him seen, so word got around through the place that a greyhound was on the way. I was initially surprised at the reception he got, until I thought back to 2007 and my first encounter with a greyhound in the flesh…I couldn’t take my eyes or hands off of the girl I was adopting. They truly are a special breed. I highly recommend them as pets and companions 💕
Where I lived growing up some of my neighbours had greyhounds for racing, they always had them out walking. Collies are my favourite

Everyone I know who has Greyhounds love them as pets. They are remarkably chill, and can be quite lazy. However, they do need space to run to burn off the energy. Given that they are wonderful house pets.

Sharkie, now he's a really special package, such a quirky chap.Once the growing pains stopped, I really do not think that they could live without each other. Always into something but they never confess to being guilty of anything that has happened. You are so kind for bringing these fur-heads into your family. Their need to run is instinctive but have they have become very adapted to living indoors. Thank you so much for giving them a chance to be what they are, silly, mischievous, terrible sleeping habits and most of all, couch potatoes.
I got a greyhound from Battersea he’s getting on a bit now but he can still move when he wants to. He is even too lazy to go on the couch so I had to get him a bed for the floor. He’d eat forever if he could definitely food motivated but makes a fantastic pet. All the best.

I've been impressed with the few greyhounds I've been fortunate enough to meet. I never heard they're aggressive, so not sure who would think that. In fact, aside from their bursts of energy, they're pretty laid back doggies, no?

My vizsla also chatted her teeth. My friend would just look at her and wonder how she could chatter her teeth so fast but her mouth never moved. You could hear her teeth but could not see her mouth moving.
