Too close together. What's up with these socks all of a sudden. My Dad always used Pflueger bait caster reels mounted on either Eagle Claw, Martin, or Daiwa rods. He used that ole' black nylon fishing line. This Man was unreal. He was catching 10.5lb bass out of the Pasquotank River, Perquimans River, and the Chowan River. They'd be giving him such a fight, he'd reel a bit, then he would jam his thumb in between the top guide rail and the spool to keep them from pulling out what line he had just reeled in. Once he wore they're butt out, He'd do the same thing while reaching for the dip net to land them into the boat. He was hell on wheels !! A Heddon Lucky Thirteen, wooden, with three treble hooks, top water plug was the only lure he believed in. I could see me trying to put one of them socks on his gear. I would have had dentures at a real early age. I guess it's all about Monkey see Monkey do these days. i think he may have had three combo's all together. Plenty of them Lucky 13's though !!

Is the slit down the pool noodle just so that you have access to attach it to the wall with a washer and screw? I'm thinking if that's the only reason you could put a thin piece of wood or vinyl about 1" wide down the length of the noodle and drill thru directly into the wall at different points.

I put the slit in there just to screw it to the wall. The teim piece is an excellent idea for sure
