Used this to restore the bumpers on three 14 year old Hilux utes that were being put up for sale. This is the product I've been looking for for 20 years! Brilliant results
Nice one guys, whilst there are similar products on the market the fact that your products are more easily accessable to the consumer is what makes them so great. I for one will be grabbing a bottle.
@@BowdensOwn BTW I used Wet Dreams for the first time last week, I never knew driving around in a mirror was a thing.... seriously that's a top shelf Sealant guys well done.
It has been 2 years I've been spraying tyre shines on ma 740GL 1989 bumpers and didn't last long because of weather condition. Until you have launched this product I didn't know about. I gave a second chance to my 740GL! It looks like my car came from a time travel! Thank you so much BowdensOwn! ☺️☺️

I just did my ten year old car with Mr Black, I can’t stop smiling my old girl/car looks so beautiful 😍 the black plastic, it truly looks factory new, I mean no detectable coating or blotchiness or anything, it just looks like the day I bought it, new again. I’ve never seen a product like this for black plastics, Bowdens you’ve won me, you bloody legends and I’m gonna tell everyone I know how good you guys are at formulating the legit good shit for cars. I already own a fair chunk of your product range and everything I’ve used so far has met or exceeded my high expectations. Thank you, thank you for making this product it’s truly magic. I actually have a couple questions, I’m about to use the 3 way and flaying rubber on the old girl/green machine and I bought the clean and restore thinking it was a polish? But I watched your video and saw that it’s more just a cleaner, which product should I use before I apply my usual carnuba wax, I was thinking she’d need a polish after claying rubber? Also I’m hearing a lot about ceramic coatings, do you guys do one of those I can apply myself or do u recommend one? I trust your advice will be better than I can get anywhere for the benefit of my car,
G'day Alison and thanks for the comment here. Stoked to hear you like Mr Black, we put a fair degree of time and effort into making it, so it's always great to hear when people get great results from it. The Paint Cleanse is our replacement for a "polish", which we cannot classify this product as, mainly due to it being a non abrasive cleaner we have for removing more stubborn embedded dirt, grime and other light marks from the undulating paint surface. You use this after the Three Way paint decontamination and Claying Rubber combination. A good simplified flow chart on our process can be found here: www.bowdensown.com.au/blog/latest-news/new-2020-flow-chart/ . Likewise you can see it used as a system in our video here with using Bead Machine: th-cam.com/video/NDCrvWrFJHA/w-d-xo.html Ceramic coatings are great, although we don't currently sell one, we are big fans due to the technology in them. There are LOTS of different ones out there and what is best is a hard one to say. Most of these coatings use the same base polyslizane ingredients but then the different manufacturers will blend them with numerous other ingredients to their own specs which allows for a lot of good variety. For the best results, I would recommend looking at getting a reputable professional detailer to do the coating for you as there is a large amount of prep work required for the coating to perform its absolute best. We have a good range of products that has been made to be compatible to help maintain the coatings as well: www.bowdensown.com.au/guides/how-to-use-our-car-care/exterior-care/maintaining-ceramic-coatings-with-our-car-care-pro/ Hope this all helps!
@@BowdensOwn Thanks mate, The only downside of the Mr Black i found was a few days later I used Tar Tar Tar, some of it ran down on to the black, as i was moving along the side of the car spraying it on the tar, it stripped the Mr Black in streaks. @@alisonaussie4995 thats our strongest cleaner there and if the plastic is not very porous it can be hard to Mr Black to bond into it, so stronger solvent based products can affect it there.

@@BowdensOwn Awesome to hear, I've placed my order online today. I'll make sure I tag you guys on Insta when I do the SP1 and Disco. Thanks for the reply
Hi mate, If it's a true ceramic coat, like a pro detailer uses in the small expansive bottles then I'd be a little hesitant, as the solvents in this could affect it, and this is not something we have tried. But if you mean a ceramic named spray sealant out of the bottle, no issues at all there.
Hi Mitchell, thats a great use for it, we have the Australia's biggest reseller of Jetski's on the Gold Coast actually using it on all their craft now, as it works so well for the job.
Hi Tracey, you can certainly apply a spray sealant over it if you ever wished, like Bead Machine or Fully Slick. You would need to reapply when you notice the beading start to abate. The Lazy Wax can be used for a spray wax but I would not recommend the Auto Body wax cream or Beaut Beads paste wax as this may negatively affect it. I have never tried a polysilizane / ceramic coating over it though, so cannot say how that would go sorry.
What a coincidence! Did a full exterior detail to my fg ute last weekend and the only non Bowden's product I had to use was the meguires version of this lol
Just picked up the "Black Box" kit 20mins ago. Excited to use it on my Wrangler! One Question: Once you've done the restoration can you still apply other products, Such as 303 UV Protectant over the top to provide some additional protection and longevity?
Hi mate, you can use other things over it once cured, but try it with some silicone free gear like our Vinyl Revival. We found in our early testing that products with silicone based formula's for treating plastics actually made the plastics worse over the longer term, UV protection or not..
The bottle of Vinyl Revival I bought a couple months back made reference to this product, I thought you guys had discontinued it! Would you recommend to apply Vinyl Revival the day after you apply Mr Black to protect it?
Hi guy's, can the sponges be washed or are they a once use only item. If they can be washed is normal laundry liquid an adequate cleaner. Thanks for the product made my 20 year old corolla look much better.
Hi mate, with Mr Black being a penetrative rejuvenator its going to do the same on the pads, however we found they are fine to use at least a couple more times afterwards ok. Just store them with the soft side up, in a clean, dry place.
We get asked this one a bit - we find it works best on plastic thats already starting to degrade and grey, as the surface is compromised/ more porous and it's easier for the product to work its way into the plastic surface. You can do it if you wish to, sealing the top layer, but you'll be using it more often as it won't penetrate into it as well or last as long as the already degraded surface would. Hope that helps.
Hi mate, sorry for the late reply here. You can get Mr Black via our website where it can be shipped direct to you, but be aware that it's a long flight away from the UK and freight can be a tad expensive. www.bowdensown.com.au/mr-black
Hi mate, no it's not made to remove scratches in plastic, but can help visually as it covers the any marks making them more uniform, but they will still be there.
Hey guys. Not sure if you’re still reading comments on this video. Quick question: Can I use this on the black trim on a brand new car? Obviously it’s fine at the moment because it’s new but will applying this prevent fading or is it more for restoring? Thanks :)
Hi mate, sorry for the late reply. Yes you can of course if you wish do this as it does protect thanks to the UV absorbers we put in the formula and will help seal the surface and prevent the fading.

Hi Alex, maintaining is pretty easy, just keep it clean. All our car washes and after-wash sealants like Happy Ending and Wet Dreams, even Fully Slick can be used on it after the 12 hour curing, no issues.
Quick 2 questions... 1. Should you tape off your paint work? Will this stain paintwork if left to dry on it? Is it damaging to modern paint surrounding the plastic parts? 2. If the plastic has a small scuff, will this dye the scuff to camouflage it? Make it dark and less visible?
Hi Juzzo, as we mention and show in this video, it won't stain clear coated paint, wipes off right afterwards, or later if you miss a bit, with our paint cleanse and restore. Should work on a scuff, just give it a bit of a clean first and you will have to do the entire area/ bar to make sure you get an even finish.
Very disappointed with this product after using it on an ‘05 mini. Two coats as per instructions. Only good for a slightly faded surface IMO. For $85 I would expect a better result.
