I can't say that cause Virtua fighter and doa existed. These was another game too, it was like this but way more polished and refined I can't remember the name of it. I think it started with a K so there were fighting games around it.
@@jacobcraz8487 I think the game you're thinking about is Kensei: the Sacred Fist. It was made by Konami and played a lot like Tekken, but with some Virtua Fighter elements. However, It was pretty clunky, lacking VF's speed and Tekken's responsiveness when it came to executing combo strings.
Tekken 3 had some of the best grab animations. The coolest one was probably Yoshimitsu’s side grab where he creates a clone to stab the opponent and he slams you down right after.
I'm from Pakistan. and Tekken 3 is honestly THE MOST POPULAR Game ever in this country, let alone Arcade Game. Pretty Much everyone whos remotely into Gaming has played Tekken 3 and not just "played", most of them are actually above average at it.

Indeed. The "cross arms and look away" and "Flash Punch Combo" ones. Speaking of which, I love how the former became a legacy animation. Kazuya had it first in Tekken 1, then Devil and Angel picked it up in Tekken 2, leading up to Jin himself inheriting it in Tekken 3.
Yup, this is the game that got me into Tekken. A good 8 years later I played the Arcade version of Tekken 5 and then dropped the franchise for a few years. Early 2019 I picked back up 5DR and 6 for the PSP. I don't remember it being this hard to play, seriously lol

Man Tekken 6 made me drop the franchise and play street fighter mostly, Tekken 7 S1 was great imo got me to play that after the shitty first year of SFV but S2 of T7 onwards didnt really keep me and SFV got good

For the record t3 jin is a mix of kazuya and jun's moves. He was this game's replacement for mostly kazuya and slightly jun. In t4 he changes his fighting style and kazuya returns. This version t3 jin returns as devil jin in tekken 5 and asuka becomea a clone jun's fighting style. This explains why jin and devil jin are separate characters also.

The good old days, when Tekken had enough confidence in its unique combat system to NOT copy and paste meter systems, comeback mechanics, and unnecessarily long juggle combos from literally every other fighting game. If anyone wants to experience the purest form of what separates Tekken from the rest of its competitors, this is the game to play.

Same here. Tekken 2 was my first Tekken at 6 years old, and Kaz/Devil was immediately my favorite. My only complaint about 3 was Kaz not being in it. I think T2 had more soul, but T3 improved on gameplay for sure.

I was never a fan of you until a year or two back when I started to watch your content with attention and I'm really greatful that you understand many things about Tekken that others don't it's so satisfying when you mention something deep and I understand it but was unable to tell my friends cuz they had no idea what it's.

WR 2 into uppercut + 3 was the top tier Jin combo in our arcades back in the day.. the uppercut needs to be super fast to connect though.. Good on you main man for remembering this gem.. Still a tekken player today... Love from Pakistan.. ❤️🇵🇰

T3 yoshimitsu's throw from right side of the opponent was in my opinion one of the epic throw I've ever seen but somehow they removed it. Such a great throw.
You don’t even need to worry about the tough links out of counter-hit laser cannon if you know you’re going to land your attack. If you use down 2 as the third input, you’ll do a launcher which you can double up on before using an ender like demon’s paw or even demon scissors. That’s easy mode 80+ damage.

Reading all these comments about how their parents played in the arcade and how the arcades were really makes me wish I hadn't been born where I was because I live in a mostly farm country where people value work, work, work, drinking and bullshit. I missed out, man. Glad I got into fighting games 6 years ago but I wish I had started way earlier.

4 and 5 were my first Tekkens, but to this day I still occasionally play an emulated Tekken 3, insanely fun for a game that old.
You should make a tier list video for all of the really busted Tekken characters (Like T4 Jin, T5 Feng/Steve, etc). It would be really interesting to see.

WR 2 into uppercut + 3 was the top tier Jin combo in our arcades back in the day.. the uppercut needs to be super fast to connect though..

T3 yoshimitsu's throw from right side of the opponent was in my opinion one of the epic throw I've ever seen but somehow they removed it.

You don’t even need to worry about the tough links out of counter-hit laser cannon if you know you’re going to land your attack. If you use down 2 as the third input, you’ll do a launcher which you can double up on before using an ender like demon’s paw or even demon scissors. That’s easy mode 80+ damage.
