    In the automotive DC world of electrical...always create a ground bus and run all your grounds back to the same point. It might be extra work at first but it will solve a ton of ground loop problems. Especially with ham radios or CBs.

    Hey Mikey, A great install of the new system. Kudos to Parnell and you.
    I wanted to thank you for the Diode chip charging tip. It worked out great. Cheers, Mate.

    I have always been instructed to mount fuses and circuit breakers as close as possible to their source. The less wire you have between the source and the fuse or cicuit breaker means there are fewer chances of shorting out unprotected wires.

    Just did a trip with my new 340 amp hour lifepo4 setup and a redarc dcdc 50 amp.. It did great. Kept my setup charged and did it very quickly. Crazy how fast a lifepo4 battery can take a charge to 100% SOC. (I used a victron smartshunt to track battery SOC)

    Shoulda mentioned that with the Redvision system you need specific inverters. IE the Cotek SP series. So you can control it through the system. We are installing this in our @gladiatoroverland Veteran Overland Project in our Alucab Canopy Camper on our Gladiator. Although I like redundancy myself. This system is a excellent and reliable, super easy to troubleshoot. And different from you rubbing each ground wire to allow easier troubleshooting in case of an issue. Overland Bound Member 19000

      Yup. That Cotek is the one.

    Hey Michael, what an awesome job you and Parnell are doing on that center console. Will we be seeing these plans soon? I am in desperate need. I gotta mount my comms and switch terminal. Better yet, maybe the 3D print specs. Cheers brother, hope to see you and Corrie again soon.

    Maybe I missed it, I have been up for almost 20 hours, but inquiring minds need to know, how are you running everything in parallel? Are you running the positive wires from the Redarc terminals to the accessory positive wires in the relay box you built a couple years ago?

    • @OverlandBound
      @OverlandBound  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is exactly correct.

    • @countrymagic61
      @countrymagic61 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OverlandBound So, you are connecting the positive lead for the accessories from Redvision to the output (pin 87) of the relay, then to the accessory? Does this mean you have two switches? One from Redvision and another switch as well? I have a electronic aptitude (meaning I have the basic fundamentals how things work), but I am not an expert or a electrician.

    • @RobertLowery
      @RobertLowery 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@countrymagic61 You should be able to connect to pin 87, or anywhere along the positive wire running to the device. You could also run a second wire to the positive input of the device.

    Go to SDHQ for the battery terminals. I have them and they are rock solid.

  • @Trailseeker13

    yeah the redarc itself under load probably wont get that hot but if you add the heat from the transmission below it then it might be an issue specially after a hour or 8 on the highway or sitting an hour in rush hour traffic in 90f+

      There is also 3 in of space between the transmission tunnel and the bottom of the red Arc with the exception of the very front mounting point.

    • @OverlandBound
      @OverlandBound  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could do. I know I have an eclectic mix here. The walk arounds lost traction so I figured the community was leaning more toward how-to’s

  • @countrymagic61
    @countrymagic61 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you have a video showing how you did the parallel (redundant) wiring for the relay/fuse and the Redarc Redvsion? I like the setup. For what I do right now, this is an overkill. However, I plan on build my own overland trailer. The trailer is where I will have the Redvision and Management 30 installed.
