He ran out of stars that are over to work with. Dude went from working with CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, and Adam Cole off the back of the miracle that was their tag team being over... to whatever this has been since then. You can have one guy be over in a feud and it can still work on that basis... but there are so many people in AEW that are so unbelievably cold that when you put the hot thing and the cold thing together, that yeah... the cold thing is going to get warmer, but it also means the hot thing is going to get colder. MJF has gotten colder, and colder, and colder, the more they put him with people that the crowd just doesn't give a shit about.
IMO MJF resigned with AEW to not only get a big payday but also the freedom to accept acting roles and have full control of his character and the pay he gets from the movie roll. I'm sure MJF loves wrestling but it seems he used it to take the Rocks path to an acting career. All while getting paid concurrently by AEW and the movie roll. Smart guy if you ask me. IMO, if all he wanted to do was wrestle and become a very famous and highly paid champion he would have signed with WWE even if for a smaller contract.

I thought this was a really crappy match il be honest. One of the worst matches of the night and all the matches were pretty average at best. Nobody cared. It was slow and long. Not sure how Jim is saying “they got into this” they didn’t get into anything unless it was 50 backflips through tables. Watch him talk shit about Mercedes Kris match which was SO MUCH BETTER than this. MJF trying so hard this match to get back over as a heel it’s hurting him imo.

RevPro, DEFY, Enjoy, BWM...there are several promotions doing "indy wrestling" putting on a better show than Tony is with a hundredth of the money.

I've said it before, I think AEW has a massive problem with either their lighting, their camera/processing settings, or both. Everybody jumped on Adam Cole looking like a live-action "Simpsons" character, because it was so blatant. But they've had this problem with people looking various levels of "jaundiced" for quite a while. Whether it was Malakai Black who looked like he had sepsis in both legs, or some of the female performers who looked like they had acute hepatitis. MJF had that sickly yellow look several times too - which went _really_ well with his steroid acne in the close-ups, visually... I don't believe they use a different kind of spray tan (or body makeup, or whatever it is), than what gets used in WWE, TNA, or anywhere else. If you compare their lighting, colour temperature, etc. directly to WWE or TNA footage, it's notably different. All the yellows and light browns in their shots look weird or somewhat oversaturated - especially in certain floor cam shots. It's like they're trying to make milk look like butter or custard. I don't know how else to describe it. Anyway, _very cool_ that we apparently get more of the deadest, coldest feud in current pro wrestling... Another month of that zombie storyline, limping and crawling towards a match at "Worlds End"? Please, make it stop!
Cornette isn't personal friends with Jungle Soy. That's it, really. He is with FTR for sure, and with MJF as well, I think. I remember him saying they hung out in MLW, before AEW. And we all know that if you are friends with Cornette, everything you do is at least liked by him. Nothing ever is your fault. For him to break away from MJF, he has to deeply offend Jim by insulting him or the wrestling he likes. This is what happened with Meltzer and Jericho and that's why Cornette ain't afraid to talk bad about them.

He does the goofy comical shit but Tony actually books him pretty strong for the most part... He's won titles, he's somewhat protected and he's used on a regular... Let's address the elephant in the room here, MJF's best work was with CM Punk. His best feud would have been with Punk, Champion vs. Champion, to decide who was the real AEW World Champion. But Hollywood Brat Jack Perry and Scared Tony Khan ruined that. We can only hope that MJF eventually signs with the WWE and they book him with the matches with Punk in the scenario I just described.

Cole, O'Reilly and Strong were _so_ against NXT Black & Gold turning into NXT 2.0 that they willingly allowed themselves to be part of this mess? Was it worth it, just because O'Reilly didn't want to work with Beau Beverly's kid and Cole didn't want to be a manager? Strong used to be with the brand-new Creed Brothers as part of Diamond Mine. Now Julius & Brutus are associated with Chad Gable and are winning matches on RAW in front of 2.5x the TV viewers and god-knows how many times more in the audience.

You can hear Jim's brain go into overdrive trying to explain away that awful finishing sequence. MJF has done plenty of stupid stuff. Elbow from the top to the floor and getting injured? Done it. Leaping over the top rope to deliver a Diamond Cutter to a guy on the apron to the floor? Done it. Let Sammy Guevara kick out of a second rope Tombstone? Done it. Excessively use curse words/insider terms to get heat, something Jim has buried others for? Done it.
I’m sorry but MJF is no where near as good as Jim and Brian think he is. Bad Adam Cole/ Roderick feud, bad feud with Daniel Garcia, bad feud with Moxley, and bad feud with Jericho. His best work are with the two guys who are being booked on top in the WWE currently.

I thought this was a really crappy match il be honest. One of the worst matches of the night and all the matches were pretty average at best. Nobody cared. It was slow and long. Not sure how Jim is saying “they got into this” they didn’t get into anything unless it was 50 backflips through tables.

Jim needs a word to use to describe AEW other than "indy-rific". Not just because he says it *way* too much. But because what AEW does...is not indy wrestling. Indy wrestling is actually leaps and bounds *better* and more logical than what AEW puts on television. This is Very specifically exactly like the California promotion the Bucks were running before AEW started, with a massive budget.

RevPro, DEFY, Enjoy, BWM...there are several promotions doing "indy wrestling" putting on a better show than Tony is with a hundredth of the money.

I've said it before, I think AEW has a massive problem with either their lighting, their camera/processing settings, or both. Everybody jumped on Adam Cole looking like a live-action "Simpsons" character, because it was so blatant. But they've had this problem with people looking various levels of "jaundiced" for quite a while. Whether it was Malakai Black who looked like he had sepsis in both legs, or some of the female performers who looked like they had acute hepatitis. MJF had that sickly yellow look several times too - which went _really_ well with his steroid acne in the close-ups, visually...
I don't believe they use a different kind of spray tan (or body makeup, or whatever it is), than what gets used in WWE, TNA, or anywhere else. If you compare their lighting, colour temperature, etc. directly to WWE or TNA footage, it's notably different. All the yellows and light browns in their shots look weird or somewhat oversaturated - especially in certain floor cam shots. It's like they're trying to make milk look like butter or custard. I don't know how else to describe it.
Anyway, _very cool_ that we apparently get more of the deadest, coldest feud in current pro wrestling... Another month of that zombie storyline, limping and crawling towards a match at "Worlds End"? Please, make it stop!

He is with FTR for sure, and with MJF as well, I think. I remember him saying they hung out in MLW, before AEW. And we all know that if you are friends with Cornette, everything you do is at least liked by him. Nothing ever is your fault.
For him to break away from MJF, he has to deeply offend Jim by insulting him or the wrestling he likes. This is what happened with Meltzer and Jericho and that's why Cornette ain't afraid to talk bad about them.
I'm sorry I may be on a island all alone when I say this but Roddy's booking in this company has been pretty stellar imo... He does the goofy comical shit but Tony actually books him pretty strong for the most part... He's won titles, he's somewhat protected and he's used on a regular... So yeah he's been good on this company

Let's address the elephant in the room here, MJF's best work was with CM Punk. His best feud would have been with Punk, Champion vs. Champion, to decide who was the real AEW World Champion. But Hollywood Brat Jack Perry and Scared Tony Khan ruined that. We can only hope that MJF eventually signs with the WWE and they book him with the matches with Punk in the scenario I just described.
It's always interesting seeing Cornette and the viewers deviate so much on a wrestler. Only time I've seen it recently was Oba Femi.

i saw this match on youtube from a guy filming in the crowd and if i didnt know anything about why they were having the match i would have thought it was great. 4:37 i thought it was very obvious that mjf was playing possum to get the armbar in after the brainbuster. and i dont know why brian and jim pretend like mjf isnt willingly doing this. he got the tattoo sucking tony off, he is just like the rest of them, he just cosplays roddy piper instead of a backyard wrestler from japan.

Nor does Taven or Bennett, or O'Reilly save him either. Wow, with friends like that, who needs enemies?
Cole, O'Reilly and Strong were _so_ against NXT Black & Gold turning into NXT 2.0 that they willingly allowed themselves to be part of this mess? Was it worth it, just because O'Reilly didn't want to work with Beau Beverly's kid and Cole didn't want to be a manager? Strong used to be with the brand-new Creed Brothers as part of Diamond Mine. Now Julius & Brutus are associated with Chad Gable and are winning matches on RAW in front of 2.5x the TV viewers and god-knows how many times more in the audience.
