Day 47 of EPIC | LEG DAY Workout with Dumbbells & Bodyweight [SUPERSETS]

  • Leg day let’s go!! Hamstrings, glutes, quads, calves & core all targeted in this lower body workout with supersets!
    For this leg workout, you will need a pair of dumbbells, a mat and that book/yoga block you have been using over the past few weeks! I am also using a glute band, however this is optional! The dumbbells I am using for your reference are 10kg each.
    The timer will be on for 45 seconds of work, straight into another exercise 45 seconds work then 30 seconds rest before moving onto the next superset! Towards the end the timer will change to 30 seconds of work, followed by a hold for example then straight into a similar movement!

    During the single leg wall sits, try to keep the quad tight in the leg being held up abs try to keep it parallel to the floor!
    The legs will work hard during this session! Really use the finisher to finish them!!

    Hi Caroline...I know we are not quite at the end of epic...but I thought I’d write a few thoughts about this brilliant series today! I could write hundreds of things...but let me just say a few! 1. Challenging...this series has always challenged us and this week right to the limit! But this means our fitness has grown so quickly! The comments I see are just superb where everyone is doing new things that they just couldn’t do before! 2. Fun...even though it’s been tough it is always fun! This is because you put so much effort into planning the workouts and interacting with us! 3. Technical production...you once told me you weren’t very confident with tech! But the production of these videos is just fantastic! 4. Personal touch...even as your channel has grown so big you take the time to treat us all as individuals. To me I think of you as my friend from an exercise class...we do a class together...and then we can chat...I love the way you take time to interact with so many in your channel. 5. This. Community...we have grown together so much during epic...this is such a kind, friendly place! All of this comes back to you Caroline...your hard work...your professionalism..and your lovely, friendly personality! Thank you so much for this series..lovely to be a part of it! Matthew

      Absolutely!! The community and positivity from this channel is incredible. I might not do all the workouts anymore (been back at the actual gym- but I always do these in lockdown) but I do always click on them and have a read of the comments to see how everyone’s getting on. It’s fab seeing everything support each other and progress with their journeys

      Irma I am 58 and my husband is 65. We too have made it through. We LOVE it and are going to start over after this week.

      @@kimberlyroberts5405 I will be 65 in January and I'm very sorry to see the program end. I am also going to go back and do a lot of different exercises on Caroline's playlist. You're lucky you had your husband to do this with that would be fun. My husband works a lot even though he should be retired but we can't afford that so he's at work I work from home as a transcriptionist. I would have loved to have exercised with my husband but he's not an exercise person.. good luck to you both 👍

    Many people are going to be adding their congratulation messages this week, so here’s mine!
    CONGRATS EVERYONE! I can’t believe how far we’ve come, and to think we have so much to look forward to in the future!
    I think it’s safe to say we’ve come to be familiar with each other’s comments and know some familiar “faces”? 😉🙃
    I’ve loved the support, being able to give advice and being able to challenge myself! In my journey I can only do 1 toe push up at the time, but my knees push up reps are so much higher now! I’ll definitely be on the toes soon 😆
    And that’s just one of the many improvements ... I am confident, I am strong, I am CAPABLE
    and ... SO ARE YOU!!!

    My only consolation when I read the dreaded "LEG DAY" is that I get to rest my sore arms from Day 46. T.T Leg workouts make me sweat even more than the HIIT, burpees, or even EMOM haha

      Even on specific body parts days, in theory as parts are working more but today arms are getting involved because they the ones holding the weights, albeit not as heavy as Cx all the way. I am sweating just thinking about them. Fan is switched on midway thru warm up.

    I probably am not the only one who watches intros and reads comments in the morning, gets motivated and in the day time does the workout and reads the comments again, because there's now those people who have done the workout. :)
    I haven't been very active in comments section, but I have lived through every single workout.
    And I too can't believe how my motivation, strengh, regime has changed for the better, because of Caroline!

    Hello Caroline, I realized today that EPIC program managed to establish for me a great new habit, that of doing regularly workouts, not once or twice a week but every day! I do not struggle anymore with me to move and exercise, I really embraced that as part of my daily routine, like washing my teeth! Even in the rest days! So, what do we have today...? Legs? OK, done! 😀😀
    10 weeks ago I was not sure I will even get to half of this program, but here we are today, almost finishing the program.... I’m even posting comments on YT😃😃😃

    I love reading the comment section in every video of Caroline's Epic program. It makes me feel relieved that I am not the only one who cried last Day 45 hahaha and it makes me more motivated that all of feel the same joy and excitement doing our lovely coach's incredible workout. She is the only youtuber who teaches workouts where I cant feel intimidated no matter how hard her workoits are, because there are no edits: just pure Caroline fun and sweats. As I always say, I have never been so ripped outside the gym than now just by doing her workout. Caroline, this week had me weak in my knees but feeling really EPIC ever since the beginning of the pandemic! WE LOVE YOU!!! THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS FOR ALL OF US!!

    I know I’m late to the party, but I am so excited to have made it this far!! This workout session was by far my absolute favorite of the whole series!! I still cannot do a proper pistol squat, but I can get wayyy lower than I could when we first started!! And those kneeling squats are straight 🔥!! 3 more days and I got the t-shirt!!

    When I started this program I couldn't hold a wall sit for 20s today I managed to hold it for 45s easily with weights 💪🏾💪🏾 day 47 done ✔️

    Every workout this week will be bittersweet as it draws us closer to the end of EPIC but also so empowering as it will be an accumulation of everything we have learnt and improved on during this wonderful programme. The feeling I get after finishing one of Caroline’s workouts translates into my everyday life too!! I feel like I can conquer the world!!     There always comes a point in the workout when I say "what are you doing to me, Caroline???" but it is always the challenge I need. You smiling during these workouts always helps me keep going and helps me to smile too and enjoy myself during the workout.     I love your lower body workouts, Caroline; they are challenging and fun. On the other hand, the upper body and especially pushups leave me frustrated. On the positive side -- I can do three perfect pushups. That is three more than I could do before the EPIC series.

    I bet every single person who has stuck it out in this challenge went lower on their pistol squats than last time. It's so amazing to see everyone pushing themselves beyond previous limitations in this group. How about you, Caroline? I know you've probably worked harder in this challenge than you may have done on your own and I know you're thrilled and really proud of all of us for all our improvements and I'm hoping you've seen some improvements in your own abilities throughout this challenge, too! It couldn't have been easy to take the decision to start something this long and ambitious and we're super proud of you for having the guts to put yourself out there and the endurance and stamina to see it all the way through!

    Admit it, leg day is really challenging your heartbeat besides HIIT day😛
    To be honest I love leg day but at the same time I also feels dying because I need to catch up and control my breath😬
    3 days more and I'll finish my Epic I Program! Can't believe that I'm into this stronger rather than me on the day 1😭

    Trying to hold myself from being too emotional about this whole process. But I can't.. I think we all feel this way this wee; an ocean of mixed feelings of accomplishment, joy, strength, satisfaction, happiness, sadness, anger, endurance, GRIT, etc.. I finished this routine in a very excellent way, yet I find myself crying. Even though I know that these videos are there for us whenever we want, we can go back to them but the feeling of working with u by the day is amazing.. ! Thank you for this wonderful journey.

    My body awareness, strengths and weakness have become so acute thanks to these workouts. My legs have gotten so strong. My shoulders need some work. Can't thank you enough for these 10 weeks. I have not missed a day yet. I have never stayed so on point with any challenge before this. I am not sure what I am going to do next week, but you have definitely given us enough material to work with. Thanks you so very much!💕💕💕

    Just got Day 47 in the bag Caroline! I am a day behind!! Lol! I am now upping my weights and curling 12 but moving up to 15 pounds next week. I can see improvements in my strength daily and my fiancé can see a huge change in my booty and legs. He is loving it. Thank you!!!!!

    I am SO HAPPY that I stumbled across this program on day 3 or 4. I've never attempted or completed a workout program before, and it's such a different mindset of accomplishment! I know this isn't over yet but I know there's no danger of me dropping off now! Thank you caroline

    I love legs workout and super sets.
    My bulky legs came on beautifful shape because of your workouts. Thighs Loose fat changed to strong legs. My hereditary fat (which I thought it will never leave me) has gone. Hereditary fat is very difficult to go as my siblings doing excercise past many years but that fat is still there and i just started to do workouts in lockdown. And the day I started to follow you (5 months back), I saw this thigh fat is melting and changing to strong legs. Now my siblings are also following you to see this result. You are blessing for me.     I had tears of joy when I found that I could do almost all types of push-ups without going on my knees, yesterday.
    This program has made me stronger , more disciplined.

    Loved this workout. 1 day to go then I’m done. What a great challenge and very well planned and thoughtful workout series. Loads of content even now after complaining 49 sessions she still puts in a few moves I’ve never seen or heard off. I’m glad that I am doing Caroline 2 years on as I can plan the next series. Going to be advent as 1st December when I start it. Then New Years epic 2. Thanks Caroline

    Love all the variations of squats and lunges!!! Leg workouts are my favorite ones now!!! This is going to be the great burn for legs!!! I am looking forward to do it!!!!     Another Epic workout Caroline🤗. One of the many things I have learned since joining your channel and subsequently the Epic 10 week program is that for years I thought the only way I could tone/grow muscle was at a gym. These months working with you and your wonderful TH-cam family/followers I have come to understand that you don’t need a gym but rather direction from one of the best online personal trainers. I have said this before ... “you are the best of the best”.
    With so much uncertainty about us everywhere, you have literally saved so many of us with your at home workouts. You have made working with a simple pair of dumbbells challenging and even fun 💪😉. Not to mention we have all grown in many ways. Blessings to you 🙏🥰❤️

    OMG, I really pushed myself on this workout... I used my 20lb weighted bar for most of the movements. RDL I used a 30lb (just one) for all of those. for the elavated lunges I used a 10lb plate (I am ordering yoga blocks) For the glute bridges and hamstrings lifts I used the 30lb dumbbell... I plan on getting more weights and I used a band when you did Caroline... My legs are burning and feel like Jelly.... This was an awesome workout... tomorrow day 48, I am getting there!!!!

    Not as if somebody's gonna read this, but, although I'm trying my best, I can't do a single proper push-up. It may just be my perfectionist self, but it's been 9 weeks since I started EPIC and idk if there's any noticeable change externally... however, I feel a bit stronger, which is what I'm gonna try to focus on instead. I guess I should have increased the weight sigh
    I SWEAR I love Caroline's workouts. They're just supreme.

      You are not alone. I still can not do a push up either, I do all of the pushups on my knees. Sometimes it makes me feel weak but we are only getting stronger and eventually, we will be able to do a full push up. And congratulations for finishing the program!! Did you move on to epic 2?

Let me say I'm BEYOND PROUD of you for trying to learn how to perform a proper pushup on your knees (in this case) instead of simply giving up straightaway. You're giving yourself the opportunity to prove those demotivating voices who tell us we won't succeed at all in the first place, and that's amazing!!
      Now, answering to your question, I did start with epic II and I'm already 4 weeks in!! I still struggle and feel considerably weak, but I believe I'm (very) slowly getting better. Not gonna lie, I'm also trying to overcome other issues both related to this and not, but we'll get there. We can do this, I'm convinced. Plus it's for ourselves, isn't it?

    End of Term 2 at school, last day today. It's been a gruelling one as has the last year and a half...more than normal...cycled home and rolled my mat out like a Zombie for this (I've just enough days to finish EPIC1 before HEAT starts...). 5 minutes in and I'm exhausted, 10 minutes in a little less so...20 minutes in and somehow my energy levels are picking up!? This is the power of CG and this series. The balance of programme and way she plans it is utter genius. Finished feeing way better than when started and celebrating my much needed break with a well-earned glass of wine...3 to go!!!!!!!!

    Physical fitness is one thing but wow, my mental health has been holding on by the help of these workouts!
    It may be a struggle for me to get my mat out and press play, but once I finish a workout I NEVER regret it!
    Ty Caroline for your wonderful, challenging program! I can’t begin to tell you how much of a positive impact your workouts have had on my mental health. I have chronic illness and 2020 has been hard but every time I finish a workout, just accomplishing it makes me feels so good and sometimes it’s the only good thing that happens to me/I get done in the day and I’m proud of myself.

    Hi Caroline ! I’d be delighted if you could put up a program with dumbbells for busy people that can only train 3 times a week! (Maybe 45 min to 1 hour) That’d be awesome! As I think 5 times a week could be overwhelming for most people! Many thanks for taking this suggestion into consideration 🙏

      Hi Feddy...You should have a look through Caroline’s videos. She has a whole range of dumbbell workouts of all different lengths. And if you look back through her community posts you’ll find one...quite a way down...maybe 12 posts or so...where she suggested workout splits with different numbers of rest days. If you put these two things together you could easily sort out a programme of the type you want. All good wishes, Matthew

    Omg I did it!!? I was kinda scared not gonna lie😅 but I did so well I’m surprised and proud!! The kneeling squats were the toughest for me, that’s when I understood “body weight does NOT mean easier”!! My newest accomplishment!! I was able to do the single leg hamstring lifts for the first time!! Without any weight however, but I couldn’t even do that before, so it’s definitely a progress!! I always dreaded leg day but always felt like a champion after finishing it!!🙌⭐️ so excited for upper body tomorrow 🤩

    Caroline has made me actually enjoy lower body days and I use to HATE them🤣 my quads always feel so tight after a lower body day!!! But i am mort definitely starting to see more definition and muscle in my thighs im loving it😍 and omggg we are almost finished with Epic 1, what a journey!!! Congratulations to everyone who has made it this far❤️

    Caroline I absolutely LOVED this; supersets are def a new fave. The intensity was manageable as so much variety . The last 10 weeks have flown by and so glad I went back to do this series; I loved EPIC 2 and HEAT however somehow this one felt more challenging. Looking forward to finishing it on Sunday...I am 50 next week and have never felt as good in my body. I suffer with dodgy knees and ski injuries and have learnt to make these workouts my own and not worry about what you are lifting or how fast you are going; I now realise doing my best is enough. Thank you so much for all you have done I really don't know what we would all do without you. x

    My legs are on fire and I love it 🔥 Just to say that in the begging of Epic I dreaded lunges, I love them now 🦵🏼, definitely one of my favourite lower body moves. Also, to be able to complete a workout using the same weight as you Caroline is amazing, didn't think it would happen when I was just starting with 5kg dumbells (and often struggling)💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼🔥🔥🔥

    Hi Caroline! 2 more days for me and it will be an EPIC finish! I must admit everything is challenging and perhaps WHY i like your program. I feel stronger every day. And while I struggle to get this done, your short workouts keep popping up and so I am more determined to finish quickly and tempted to do the short workouts as well to keep up. I am just addicted to you that I wanted to do everything in your channel that I haven't discovered before!!! I am 52 and the workouts I see for my age just doesnt excite me as much as your workouts. SO thank you for inspiring to continue working out and perhaps one day to get the body that I want. As you said, progress not perfection. You have also created a great community here! Congrats to everyone!!!

    Caroline, can I just say thank you from the bottom of my heart 🙏. Since meeting you, I have fallen in love with leg workouts (which I used to dread & thus preferred 'no repeat workouts'). I now totally embrace all types of repeat workouts 💪💪🖤🖤. This is an epically brutal workout series - love the way you have structured them. It was refreshing to see you struggling with me during this leg workout which I enjoyed so so very much and will no doubt feel the burn 🔥🔥 tomorrow 😀. Am so proud of myself. Thank you Mrs G 🤗
