At time 08:15 you stated the engine on the F-2(F-16) provides “modest thrust”. Since the aircraft can hit Mach 2 I’m hoping you were understating the performance of the engine.
It's about time Japan produce their own weapons systems. It's strange though their F-2 is a larger version of the F-16 when Japan is known for compact efficient machines.
Japan has better mechanic and engineer than the American, my Japanese imports 2010 Honda Fit after 110,000 miles still drives like new. Compared to American made cars after 60,000 miles it falls apart already
They didn’t ALLOW anything. Japan licensed the right to build in Japan, employ Japanese workers, Japanese maintainers with their own shops for parts keeping things inside Japan. Its brilliant and a helluva lot more reliable than buying something off the shelf and needing a tech to fix every little thing aside from field maintenance.
Everything to do with the F15 was designed, built and owned by the United States. So yes the United States ALLOWED Japan to build the F-15J. Like it or not that's the way it works.
You probably should pay attention to the real facts. The F15J’s are being upgraded by BOEING in Japan. The 450M contract was approved by the US 12/10/24.
Boeing's defense department thriving on the legacy of McDonnell Douglas And to my understanding, Boeing also fucked up with the fuselage of the Super Hornet which is the reason why its pylons are needed to canted outward, because this option are cheaper than to redesigning the new fuselage which is costly and eventually exceeded the budget limit

Mitsubishi is the company that built the fearsome AM-5 “Zero “ fighter in WWII. Now they’re building updated and upgraded F-15 & F-16 multi-role aircraft under exclusive license for their own use. Who’d have thought? What next? “German manufacturer Fokker to build upgraded A-10 Thunderbolt II fighters under license from Douglas-Fairchild …”.
The A6M was the Zero Sen (Zeke) which debuted in 1940. The A5M (Claude) was the last Japanese Navy fixed landing gear fighter. A few served at the Battle of Coral Sea on the IJNS Shoho.
The f16 looks more like a Japanese design to me The f15 is obviously designed by American companies like Lockheed Martin or Northrop Grumman. Why do we have their Mitsubishi designed F-16? I've always felt the f-16s looked more like a Japanese design. Americans always put at least two engines on modern aircraft. It's almost like comparing a Mitsubishi zero to an f4 wild cat or f4u Corsair to a zero from ww2. It's almost as if we traded designs for fun. The F-16 is a much faster more Nimble aircraft then an f15.
Japan does not build superior . They use inferior materials . Look at the San onfferi nuclear power station . They let hitachi work on that plant , and the piping fell apart within 10 years , so they made excuses to why closed the plant . Japanese technology is not what you think it is

I don't understand why the new f15ex doesn't have super cruise. They sure seem big enough..
Because in 1980 when the first "J" came off the Mitsubishi assembly line, there was no such engine technology.
Japan was the one that came up with supercruise.
We came along way with Japan since WW2 great allies couldn’t ask for better..
Even Saudi Arabia has it. McDonnell Douglas has updated 80 F15-SA aircraft with a very advanced electronic update specific to Saudi Arabia only.

I agree U.S. should go metric but the Imperial system still has certain advantages.
Medieval is using the old metric systems 😅
wʅ(‾◡◝)ʃ
