I met your Mother years ago in concert Ottawa,Canada.She dated ,for a short time when young,my ex from New York.She remembered him and we got to say hello.Wonderful woman and such a great performer. I will never forget her.Still one of my favorite performers,especially after I met her.Very special indeed

My mother's family also owned a United Cigar Store & I would "borrow" the Horatio Alger books for sale and read them voraciously in the back room of the store. I was a kid when my parents would watch her movies and I watched with them. She was so glamorous and beautiful. My favorite video is the one where she is interviewed on Love and compromise. She was so on target with that. Her candor was profound and way ahead of her time. I personally want to thank you because I know how she supported the LGBT community as I am a gay guy and I appreciated her and all she did for equality, not just for African Americans but for soldiers, women and LGBT concerns. I remember going to BBkings in nyc and your mother was the headliner. I did everything I could to get off work early and I actually made it on time. She spoke to the crowd and I screamed that I loved her work and she actually spoke to me and asked me where I was from. I told her NYC...she responded 'Of course you're sassy" smiled and tapped my shoulder. I never forgot that day! That was beautiful. I just watched an interview of your mom on the Speaking Freely show with Ken Paulson back in 2001. She is simply one of the most extraordinary human beings because she chose to see the beauty in her life and rose above all of her disappointments and pain. Some people who were neglected or abused in their childhoods are not able to do that, and treat their own children the harsh and brutal way they were treated. The fact that your mother told you that she loved you every single day is proof that she refused to make you the beneficiary of her tears. She gave you what she was denied and I can't really even begin to fully express the potency of that validation. You were truly blessed to have such an extraordinary mother. Years ago I was playing in a band with trumpeter Danny Stiles, he talked about playing a show starring Eartha Kitt and that she had her beautiful blonde daughter with her - that must have been you! :) When I watched videos of Eartha talking about her early life I was surprised, with her regal bearing and refined manner of speaking I would have assumed she was raised in affluence.

She was a smart woman. Invest in real estate. Material things never build wealth. It's okay to have nice things but invest in land aka property. 👌🏼
