Of all the Arabian Peninsula countries, Kuwait holds a highly distinguished position when it comes to music because of the art of sawt. “Sawt (plural aswat)” literally means “voice” or “sound.”
The main instruments used in sawt are the mirwas (plural marawis), and the ‘ud.
