  • RECIPROCATING SAW CORDED VS CORDLESS | M18 Fuel Sawzall vs Corded
In this video, Renos compares corded vs cordless reciprocating saws.
He starts by pointing out some of differences between the Milwaukee corded reciprocating saw and the Milwaukee Fuel M18 saw. The then does a timed reciprocating saw log cutting competition to determine which saw has the most cutting power. He does 3 time trials for each saw, and then he includes a bonus round where he demonstrates the corded reciprocating saw in oscillating mode.

Corded just beat the hell out of the cordless. This is why I'm.switching to corded for some of my tools.
My.cordless drills are still bad ass.

As a window and door installer, I wouldn't waste my money on a cordless saw. Charging batteries and the expense of the batteries $200-$300 bucks is foolish. One battery is the price of a cordless. That goes for a mitre saw as well. Drills?, hell ya

not familiar with Milwaukee, but generally the 60v packs are near equal to corded and the 20v packs are less (about half). however, new 21700 20v packs support more amperage, giving about 40v equivalent in power + greater runtime - when combined with motors designed to utilize the extra amps.

@Jack Braddell Just like the circular saws they show you the battery operated saw beating the corded saw, well that's bullshit because I did a test between the Dewalt dcb578 and a corded Porter Cable mag 424 and the Porter Cable won it was close on the first couple of cuts but as I cut more the Dewalt slowed down and it wasn't even close

Lol hey buddy you have a stack of logs behind you. Take one and put it on the ground. Take the log your cutting and lay it on top of the one on the ground with the part you’re cutting hanging over the end. STEP ON THE LOG AS YOURE CUTTING. It will not only hold the log in place for you but you will have better leverage on the saw. Pretty basic sawzall usage there buddy. A for effort.

It being corded means absolutely nothing it's all about the stroke of them mostly! And what motor they're using period and this isn't a accurate test period! Watch the test (toolbar) did milwaukee brushless fuel vs the corded milwaukee the brushless sawzall beat it.

I think what you're doing is unsafe and it sets a bad example of exactly how this particular tool must be utilized in order to maximize its cutting ability. I mean no offense to you. The video is great, but wobbly tables, putting your leg next to a saw cutting is not safe.
As far as the tools themselves. Both saws are awesome for different reasons. Obviously, the battery operated one leaves one with a little more freedom because of no cord. The corded one is infinitely more powerful in the long run and especially if one is on a job site with power. Generally the corded equipment/ tools perform better because they will not see a digression of power as the battery begins too drain. Granted, that may or may not be a deal breaker, but it can affect the tools overall abilities to get the job done more effectively and efficiently.
Battery technology has indeed come a long way in the tool business. However, the cost of replacing or having extra batteries is bar none the most prevalent excuse for not buying a battery tool. At Home Depot for example, an extra battery for my Ryobi 14 inch bar chain saw is $134.00 dollars. Batteries will never ever last forever depending on usage, but they do get hot and each battery generally charges a little different. Further, battery technology, while certainly way better vs just a few years ago,
is still way off overall. Its why electric vehicles are just not trustworthy vs traditional gas/ diesel operated reciprocating engines.
However, no one can say honestly that either one of these saws is better then the other because both are quite honestly very different and unique. Other then the brand name. I have the 15 amp corded version because its considerably more powerful and I don't like having too rely on all battery operated tools on the job site. I own a ranch in Texas. Yes, I'm a women. Yes, I know tools. Especially when repairs must often be made in the field. You'd think the battery version would be better, but the corded one is superior. I just plug it in too my truck and off too work I go. If the repair job requires I or my ranch hands to go off the res or really remote areas inaccessible by vehicle, we might pack a mule and horses and utilize a portable generator. Generally, we seldom ever encounter such type remote repairs or maintenance, but I prefer having corded tools for certain types of jobs. Fence repairs for example.
Battery operated tools are a relatively new technology as compared to corded tools. While some of my tools are indeed battery operated and perform remarkably good, because they're battery powered, I have certain trust issues with them. The battery saw in your video is a great piece of equipment. I do like it, but I like the security of plug and play personally.
    Awesome video overall.🪚
