    Subscribed! Nice ABA man. I own an Audi but I’ve belt many ABA’s I absolutely love this motor. Not much content on these. Please keep posting. We’d love to see some in car videos and some pulls when she’s all ready!

    Nice setup bruh, I bought a 97 jetta GT in July and picking up another aba block to build a turbo setup myself. Love the 8v motors, reliable and good an fuel.

    Same shit I got except I’m running a aeg mani port matched and other things probably when you drop the buil vid. Nice and love seeing people building aba motors and having faith :’)

      did you get your heads ported for the aeg swap? i'm interested in doing the same thing and people keep telling me its not worth it unless you port the head.

      @@smokess1763 if you don’t port it it’s the same function as the stock manifold but yes my head is ported and polished to fit the manifold. The ports on the intake gaskets are matched to the AEG manifold but the ABA ? Is not. So to port match the aba head is technically also matching the AEG manifold so it all works out

    Love it! Had the same in my trek edition 2.0 mk3. Damn I miss it. Moved on to mk5 rabbit 5cyl now, wanting to boost it as well now. Excellent build and video. Btw, I remember thinking how much of a hassle it was to take my intake manifold off my Mk3 anytime I’d have to do any work. Now on an mk5, it’s worse😂.

    My turbo had trouble fitting between the firewall and engine in my 97 mk3 ABA cabrio. Did you come across issues fitting your turbo?

      Hey on my new turbo I did end up having to cut the top part of the firewall. ONLY where the rubber is. The new turbo was much bigger. I’ll post all of that in a new video.

      I had the same problem with my aba-t in my mk2. I had to modify my firewall slightly with a sledgehammer wrapped in a towel.

    If you upgrade ur oil cooler too big then checking ur oil pressure is necessary.

    im actually pulling my ABA as we speak so i can rebuild it to turbo it, as it has 230k on it.. lol getting the trans rebuilt, replacing all the things, and I am on here looking for content as well to see what other people are doing to these.. as I am a bmw guy and this will be my 1st VW project

      I am still auto. I had to make some mods for it to hold the power but it’s been pretty okay. I just don’t like the gear ratio on the final drive

      Fuel consumption is very noticeable when in it to win it but that’s expected. Under “normal driving I’m getting 24- 28 mpg. That’s highway at 80mph. So I’m filling up every 2 days to 3 days max. Driving 100-110 miles a day.

      On these cars you really have 3 options. Chip tune, run stick tune with slightly larger injectors and run rich with adjustable FPR or stand-alone. I currently have a VEMS computer in the car.

    Siliconeintakes.com has any coupler you can think of. I had to go to them for my charge pipe to throttle body coupler. It's like 130° bend.

    Hella nice car! Going to look at a mk3 gls today. Owner didn't list if it has the 2.0 or vr6, but I think I'll love whichever. It'll look good sitting next to my mk7 gti either way if I get it.

      A gls is a fully loaded 2.0. A GLX is a VR. Let me know how the sale goes.

      @@mr.schmoe5867 Bought the car! Suspension, paint, and interior need work. But it was only 1.5k. Once the basics are done, it'll be time for forced induction :)

      @@TK--qf4sj I can definitely recommend the CX racing coil overs. They make a fully adjustable model I sell. That’s definitely my next set up and the set I keep as a backup set of coil overs.

      I am running a chip tuned from Reflect tuning. I was supposed to switch over to stand alone long time ago but life happened. When I ordered the chip, I reached out to him and had some cha he’s done in the software to accommodate my setup. I’m on a 276 cam and I wanted to make sure he would be willing to work with me and he did.

      It’s a chip tuned with some personals asks when I ordered it from reflect tuning.

      Thanks. In the video here the car was on chip tune. You open the ecu and change the physical chip. I got a custom tune from a shop in NC that he then burned to the chip for me.

      Built head. Block spacer for the higher boost. And some other mods. The only thing that is stock is the rod bolts.

    Where is the iac valve?

      It’s integrated in the throttle body. You may find it by following the black vacuum hose that goes from the passenger side to the passenger side of the intake.

    I have a fucked up mk3 gti with 175k on the clock, looking to swap, should I go 1.8t or vr6? Or go with another ABA just to learn on in terms of working on it and learning how to drive

    how much did this whole build run you and how long did it take to do? i'm getting a mk3 jetta 2.slow with 70xxx miles and wanna do a turbo build on it. idk if i wanna go big turbo or if i wanna go completely different and go supercharger, if i can find a kit. read a lot of good stuff on that

      I went turbo including all of the fabrication for piping which takes the longest, in two days working on the car about 14 to 16 hours each day.

      Well I’ve done piece by piece, I’d probably say all in around 5k. That’s high quality components, fabrication that I’ve done myself and the stand-alone computer. So maybe closer to 6k. Easy

    What about the injectors? What kind did u use? Are u using the stock ECU?

      Injectors are GENUINE BOSCH 440s. Car has a chip by Reflect tuning. I honestly wouldn’t go with him again. I’ll make a video on why. If you need to get your car running, it’s great. But for SERIOUS tuning, stand-alone is the way.

      Rpf1 wheels. I think they are reps though. I had bought them with tires 7 years ago for 400 dollars. 100k miles and thousands of speed bumps, they are still light and solid as a rock lol.

    I got a mk3 with a 2.0 n/a are they fast when u you tune and upgrade them everyone telling me to do the 1.8t rout but I just don’t know

      My main reason for staying ABA is that it was in the car. Would I do it again. Absolutely. The car is a daily so I needed ease of working, inexpensive repairs( lol), there’s a lot that goes into my decision. Stay tuned. I will make pros of my choices and cons.

      100% yes you can feel the difference. Lol. Car can be a bit scary at times. Depends on your surroundings. But yes I’d definitely build another ABA-T.

      The mass injectors you can run on the stock map is G60 injectors. I sold the set I had bought. I believe they are green. But you have to be careful with which green one you get.

      I have a Mk2 with 2L ABA swap and thinking to improve with a turbo, My mechanical said better swap with 1.8T from mk4 but I prefer be old with power jeje
