    I have put 3100 miles on mine just this year. I can't say enough good. It's gotten smoother and faster with time. Even having another 100+ horsepower sportbike, this one gets it done and is so fun.

    I just bought my first bike (used 2019 Z400) and this thing is a blast to ride. I only had 5 days to ride due to buying it late in October, but very quickly got a good feel for the shifting and handling. On my 2nd day I was doing 60 with no issues. I highly recommend this mini devil for new riders and people who just want to commute. Once I put new tires on I'll be trying out the corners harder.

    I don’t regret downgrading my Z800 to this..I have to do that cause my wife change to the BMW grand tourer 7 seaters family car..So budget is a must..After 1500km,I tried top speed twice which is around 174-179kmh stock and my weight is around 90kg...After Ecu reflash,dyno,mid pipe and akrapovic muffler and quickshifter i managed to get 188kmh with slightly more..Well done Kawasaki,You have shown your competitors what is power beside economical...next pls consider traction and riding mode

    I have had my Z 400 for almost a year. I’ve made 22 changes/upgrades. I actually have three or four videos here on TH-cam showing different stages of ad on upgrades I have done. I have spent under $1000.. I have not touched any tuning, any exhaust, any airbox, any air cleaner aftermarket stuff. I leave my stuff alone in the tuning department. I go after suspension improvements, ergonomic improvements,I added real horns which required installing heavier gauge wire through a horn relay, I’ve had rubber topped foot pegs, VFR 800 foot pegs go right on, Rubber gets rid of the tingle buzz through the solid foot pegs. I’ve had a bar risers, a taller windshield, foam grips get rid of a lot of the tingle through the bars, Corbin seat, I replaced the passenger seat with a Hepco backer plug-in rack.. i’ve added a 31 L JV style trunk to the rack it comes off in one second with the key, no ugly mining brackets or tubing holding up an aftermarket luggage rack. I’ve added spools, A Suzuki GSXR 600 shock. Massive improvement. The stock shock on these ninjas and Z 400s is pretty much shot at 4000 miles.. i’ve had a small magnetic tank bag. I like the magnetic tank bags because there are no straps, and they stay put they don’t move around all over the tank while you’re riding. I have a tether from the tank bag to the bar so it can’t fly off.. I have a purple brand gel seat cushion on the Corbin seat. I can now ride all day. The stock seat is a medieval torture device..I’ve had a small Alnico magnet to the drain plug to collect any magnetic debris suspended in the oil, which there always is.. I have upgraded the rubber on the shift lever to a new style flat on the bottom shift lever rubber. The original rubber cover on the shifter was chewing a hole in my bates motorcycle boots.. I gutted under the passenger seat and I am able to carry a small electric air pump for flat tires and a plug kit and a cargo net and straps and jumper cables in that compartment now. A lot of space under there..I upgraded the tool kit with some better tools and I’ve added a few tools and a little things like spare fuses. I have added a wide angle spot mirror on the left mirror, and if you add a stick on wheel weight to a buzzy mirror, that will usually change the frequency that the mirror responds to if you have a mirror that buzzes..
    I was going to upgrade the front fork springs, but I’ve learned that the ninja has different forks from the Z 400 so you gotta be careful what you buy. I think I read that the ninja forks are longer..
    I tried to go up to a 15 tooth Countershaft sprocket .. A few days later I got a check engine code, and my gear position indicator stopped working.
    it turns out that the computer detected the different speeds of the transmission shafts in relation to the speedometer. So I went back to the 14 tooth stock countershaft sprocket, and I went through the reset procedure to get the check engine light to go out..To tell you the truth, the machine did not like the 15 tooth sprocket. I had to chain adjusted correctly, and I was not lugging the engine. But there was more vibration with the larger sprocket. It may have been because the stock sprocket has a rubber damper around the sprocket to cushion the mashing of the chain with the sprocket. It was noticeable..
    I don’t see any need to ring my motorcycles neck up to 12,000 RPM. It has wonderful grunt. And I’m saying that after I recently sold my Moto Guzzi Norge 1200. Massive torque, and I thought the 400 would be a disappointment after selling my Norge 1200. It is not a disappointment. I do miss having the much better suspension that comes stock on a moto guzzi.. but for the price I’m not gonna complain.. I wanted to have two street bikes that are completely different. When you have two bikes that are in the same category, no matter which one you take on an all day ride, after about six or eight hours, you’re always thinking, I should’ve took the other bike.. I have a Yamaha royal star venture as my big rolling La-Z-Boy machine, and I have the Z 400. Last year I had a gold wing GL 1800, and the moto guzzi norge..
    When I was younger I road raced RDs, winning six road racing championships, and two national championships on RDs..
    i’ve had dozens and dozens of motorcycles over the decades. I just wanted to go back to something about the size of an RD, because I’ve had nothing but big touring bikes and big sport bikes over the past few decades. What a refreshing light flickable Package the Z 400 is. I like it better than my V Strom 1000, my KLR 650, I think it’s better than the RZ 350 I had, it’s cheap to insure too. I’m getting 66 miles to the gallon. When I take it out on the back roads with some of my ex road racing buddies, I can ring its neck, and I’m still getting over 60 miles to the gallon. And when I do take it out and ring its neck, I’m really not going that fast like I would be on some of my other machines that are triple the displacement. I do not like that it has ABS brakes. I had an experience with my BMW K 1200 LT with ABS brakes on a back road. It was a downhill section on asphalt that was covered with flyash sinders. No big deal. But when I touched the brakes to maintain my speed, I had no brakes at all front or rear. None. The computer for the ABS detected that the wheels wanted to stop or slip and it would not apply the brakes at all. I ended up running into a cyclone fence around a salvage yard at the bottom of the hill to stop. Since then I do not like ABS brakes on motorcycles. My Moto Guzzi Norge had ABS brakes could be turned off if you ever get caught in the snow, on wet grass on a slope, or on a gravel road. You can turn off the ABS so you will have conventional brakes..
    Other than that, that’s the only thing that I did not like about this machine but I bought it anyway. I’m glad I did

    • @marknasia5293
      @marknasia5293 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      rolan valencia the reason it is making a statement in the Philippines market is the requirement of 400cc to drive on the NLEX/SLEX but the truth is, the verdict is still out since the OR/CR state 399cc. The price went up from 295K to 315K and many vendors only want you to finance the bike, they don’t want to accept cash, as to make a nice profit off of the buyers that cannot afford cash payment. Since the double plate law has been signed into Law, this is going to be a problem as the LTO tries to figure out a way to implement it. The LTO cannot even get cars, bikes, trucks etc their plates now for 4 years, how are they expecting riders to get new double plates. Most bike owners was never given the plate they paid for the first second and third time. Lots of excuses from the LTO, so did i hit the mark or am I off about the Philippines?

      On the ABS equipped bikes, like the one in this video, there is a magneto resistive pickup at the rear wheel with an encoder wheel. That sensor passes the data to the circuit in the ABS pump module, where it gets changed to a different communication protocol and then sent to ecu and dash.

Now on the flip as a ex A class ATV motocross racer I wish I had more power but that's me. I always rode 48 horse 450 quads and 150hp snowmobiles. But this Machine is not a slouch and for someone completely new to riding anything It has more than enough power. It can straighten your arms and throw you back if you ain't ready and goose. @TSTindustries  5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      The suspension is not adjustable. At least not in any way that benefits spirited+ riding. We don't see any need for a separate suspension components list from the N400. The damping characteristics of what we already offer for the N is plenty good for the common rider. The spring choices are available for any of these kits so that is all customizeable. We have Ohlins and Andreani right now if anyone needs suspension. We can help make the right choices in spring selection too. If you want to get into revalving the stacks then we will need data on the conditions and the requirements, and we can accommodate that without issue.

      No. What i said was that OUR 2018 n400 put down that peak number on OUR dyno, and that one borrowed z400 put down a peak number 2hp higher than the previous bike. We bought anothe 2020 n400 to build into SB trim and that one put down numbers on par with that z last week. Maybe oir 2018 bike had a friday built motor while the other bikes had a mid week motor.

    Dont the Z400 and Ninja 400 use the same engine? Why the difference?

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are many considerations in a case like this. One of the motors could have tighter tolerances between piston and cylinder, better balance of components, etc. Then there is the test procedure where differences can arise. Differing rear tire compound and pressure, different strap tension between the setups, differing barometric conditions between the tests, different samples of gasoline in each test, and the list goes on. It is difficult to keep the results from being affected by setup and variables. We do the best we can but these differences still arise. What we really use our dyno for is optimization on each of the bikes we tune. It's one setup, multiple runs, and we keep most typical variables constant. The first accepted run after warmup is the baseline and the improvements upon that baseline are our results. We track progress in percent gain and not hp/torque because those values aren't absolute from bike to bike, dyno to dyno.

    The z400 is really interesting but the styling really remembers me what you have in asia and india but not at a 100% maybe 60% asian and 40% european. I think the manufacturers are trying to bring the asian style so it's cheaper to make and to sell. I don't really like it.
    The z300 looks way more attractive but the gap behind the front wheel is just too big it makes the motorcycle a bit weird.
    The z400 has a really well optimized engine but the look is horrible so i don't know if i wanna try it.
    If i want an asian styled motorcycle i would prefer to go for a Zontes (we have few feedback on the engine but it's a risk to take) than a muuuch pricier Kawasaki 300 with no ABS stock. Maybe a cf-moto but they look odd.
    But for yet i learn on my baby 650 er6n, the first gen model (k7 Candy lime green) and i think i'm really falling in love with it and it's big eye x).. japanese motorcycle designers really changed the design of the bikes and it's really sad, they look too simple

      I'm on the same boat as you are. If you're from India I guess you're familiar with Bajaj.... And it looks like an offshoot of Bajaj's or TVS bikes. honestly it's because of the headlight design. it's too pointy. The real Z's got curves and muscles. Even the Z125 has more muscular lines. The lines need to flow more.

      @@poiXquared yup i agree with you and nope i'm from France ^^. It's just that i saw all those new roadsters coming out and damn they don't look good, bmw310cc doesn't look right, cf moto don't, Zontes r310 looks incredible but the headlight is weird and finally the z400 doesn't look good where as the z300 is awesome looking. That's why i was wondering where all of those weird designs were coming from.
      I might buy a Zontes 310cc or a z300 if my er6n gives up on life or if i have money. I'd just love to have a 4 cylinders bike, sounds incredible but i can't find cheap but good looking ones :/

    • @poiXquared
      @poiXquared 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrGeoffrey1998 yeah there's something wrong with the designers working on known brands and handing them over to the asian designers. Good god that BMW 310 has standard 17 inch wheels but because of the weird engine it looks like a kids bike with oversized wheels. Not to mention the ugly rim design.
      Zontes though, they're designed by the same guys that work on KTM designs also on the Yamaha M-Slaz or TFX or better known now as the Yamaha MT-15 so there's no wondering they look great. The only problem is that they're "china bikes" and quality components have always been an eybrow raiser with these companies.. I'm from the philippines btw and CF moto and Zontes just arrived here. Many people are hyped but nothing beats the quality of a well engineered Japanese bike.

    • @MrGeoffrey1998
      @MrGeoffrey1998 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@poiXquared i agree, but i saw a french review on a website and on TH-cam (they're usually really hard on their comments and tend to criticize every imperfection) but they said the Zontes r310 really had an amazing chassis, the tires are really great for CRTs, all the options (like ABS, electronic locking seat and gas tank etc..) are a real plus since we don't have that stock on bikes.
      The only problem is that it's only 35hp (well it's one more than my bridled er6n which weighs quite a lot more xD) and 155kgs, so it's acceleration is as good as a z300/z400, problem is that past 100kph it really climbs slowly..
      For me it's either i keep my er6n 650cc), i trade it for a new Zontes r310 or wait a bit and take a gsr750.
      It's nerve racking because it's impossible to have a 4 cylinder bike that's good looking, not too expensive, but not too heavy.
      The Zontes seems to be perfect but the monocylinder (even good sounding for a single cyl.) is miles away from a basic twin cylinder bike and a few planets away from a high pitched 4 cylinder engine.. :/ i don't really know what to buy

      Yeah the Asians have really taken to the angular designs, but alot of the headlights on new nakeds look horrible. I love the look of the new cb300r naked, but they made it so tiny that It kind of detracts from the look of the bike when you sit on it. The z400 lines have grown on me actually but the paint and plastic make it look like a cheapie bike.
