- 30 medical professionals who volunteered in Gaza have written to Prime Minister Sir Keir Starker asking he cease selling arms to the Israeli Government.
James O’Brien speaks to Dr James Smith, who signed to the letter and who has worked in Gaza twice over the last 10 months.
He describes a situation where ‘the most basic medical equipment’ was not accessible, calling for a 'surge in humanitarian support’ alongside ‘violence brought to an immediate end.’

Back when I was a student in India, I always wondered how the British could commit such horrendous atrocities. Looking at the UK leadership (both sides) and their media, I don’t wonder anymore.
Being from Northern Ireland I have always been sadly aware of the atrocities that the UK government can commit. Being from India I know your country was also a victim of those atrocities

The chances are that there is a child in gaza right now struggling to survive with crushed bones and missing limbs, 3rd degree burns, lungs deteriorated from dust and sand, severe illnesses and infections, hunger of the worst kind, no living family alive to look after for them, no home to return to, no water to drink, no electricity to light their room, and no hope to live for one more day let alone an education or a brighter future.
Imagine telling this child that they have to suffer so that their tormentor can feel safe and secure...
Beyond heartbreaking, the children see too much, hear too much and suffer too much. The terror and pain will leave a lifetime of emotional turmoil for all those who survive. 😢😢😢😢😢 unbelievable that those who can and should help remain silent and do nothing. Such is our world 🌎.

So, did the present iteration of this problem begin on 7th October 2023 (1,200 casualties) or March/Dec 2018 (6,000 casualties) But you wouldn't have heard about this on western media, you would have had to google United Nations human rights abuse reports.
