Ever since the EP got taken off of Spotify I've found myself never failing to come back to this video. Every once in a while I just need to experience it again.
It really has been like 11 years hasn't it. Jesus. Good job man. Picked this up on QuoteUnquote around that time back then. Truly amazing, from the opening to the ending. Someone really put a limp bizkit and jungle 2 jungle reference in the same release, alongside a partial cover of one of the most classic songs in animated movie history, and then put a masterclass EP together with all of it. And added a cover of a song by The Ergs, and its one of those covers people would definitely be divided over. And then they decided to part ways after. What madlads.
@@gashabomb6377 somewhere out there from american tail is the partial cover (4:26), introducing morrissey samples limp bizkit (14:31), and don't come around here no more samples jungle 2 jungle (11:46) =)
i mean it technically is, the ergs cover was just tacked on the digital version of the ep, the original 7" does not have it. but yeah, it absolutely does, such a bittersweet yet satisfying end to one of the most heartfelt, emotional, real, creative and influential bands of the past decade.
@@agentkenaki6529I can respect that. Like Good Kid Maad city by Kendrick Lamar has an emotional “true ending” and then a happier “thanks for listening” kind of song after that
Takes me back to the beginning of 2015, having a hell of a tough time in my life, fresh out of high school, confused, directionless, emotional, moving out of my hometown, losing lovers and friends, listening to and getting some sort of comfort from this EP...I love BLA.
They were really phenomenal but I think they are a little more than just lightning in a bottle. They are all so talented and have all been making great stuff outside of tbla too
I know it's a Alesis Micron, i don't know which preset on it but i know for sure that Zach used that synth for pretty much everything in TBLA. Pretty sure the sound is some sort of harpsicord/guitar preset, with heavy use of the pitch wheel to create this steel guitar-esque sound.
was a unauthorized upload. any upload of demo? and okumay (or any other tbla release for that matter) onto streaming, not verified by the band is very likely not legitimate.
“demo?” got uploaded recently with a different cover that got changed to the actual demo? cover now with the copy right “2024 the brave little abacus”, could be official and okumay could be coming after a remaster…hopefully
@@ingridvelaria I seriously doubt that, considering adam or the rest of the band hasn't said anything. I'm also pretty damn sure the masterfiles for demo? are just lost to time now, unfortunately.
nah, i don't really feel comfortable with me or anyone earning any money of someones music that isnt theirs without the artists consent. local files aren't that much of a hassle, just get those goin instead. if u really fw this shit, getting a tiny bit out of yr way to be able to listen shouldnt be a problem tbh. not mad tho, i aint like tryna be some gatekeeping luddite or anything, i just dont rlly want to unless the tbla guys do it or let someone do it.
got the adam seal of approval 🎉
YOU’RE TEARING ME APART AGAIN, BUT I’LL COME BACK TOGETHERRRR

@@sandguy thx, I tried replying twice but for some reason they wouldn't stay, so I had to give up.
I like to pretend don’t come around here is the last song on here. It sounds like the end of an era

@groeglern yo i didnt realise the ergs cover wasn't on the vinyl, that's pretty cool actually!
the ergs cover feels like the credits rolling. it adds so much for me

wow thank you for this!!!!
The second track sounds absolutely brilliant. Love being able to hear every layer on top of each other without it turning into a mess of sound.
thank you!
This is absolutely beautiful man. Keep it up.
thank u :>)
From someone who has made this same mistake, it's definitely intentional.
I love you so much

Makes sense, okumay and demo showed up on Apple Music not long after the JGBFTDWA remaster did so i assumed they were band-sanctioned lol
