Steve is the last character I expected that some of his move will have simplified command. His Gatling is now dck and then mashing 1+2. Instant Ext dck. (I know it's heat only move but still OP)
I’m disappointed that they made it easy to do. I also believe Steve has been heavily nerfed so I doubt he’ll be in the top tier conversation at least for now.

I think the idea behind the stomps was to make them stance pressure options. Steve seems to want to be in your face all the time now. Going into lion heart, he has a guard break high, safe mid heat engager and a mid launcher. That's a lot of pressure to be dealing with. The craziest thing for me is that his fastest launch punisher is 22 frames now
@SpiteHook Are you blind? T8 DF2 is WAY worse because there's no combo. If you can't adjust your combo then that's just skill issue. I can even spell it out to you so your small brain can adjust the combo depending on the distance. People who play steve will miss it of course because it's better in any possible way compared to the T8 df2.

the trailer wasnt very good (probably cause they couldnt find anyone good enough to showcase him lol) but he looks amazing here, def till gonna be my main. only thing is that im not a fan of his new voice. the classic "YAH" is gone, gonna mis his deeper voice
his screw moves has more long range compared to T7. even without FLK or PAB stance. no more shiro combo. df3+4 for instant EXT DCK even if it's heat exclusive move. To be fair. its actually easier to juggle in T8. I wouldn't say that characters like Steve or Kazuya are completely braindead like T8 Jin but their staple combos are somewhat easier to do compared to T7.
@bonfist7277 to be fair. T6 Steve is basically the best version of him. Vanilla T5 "press 311 to wins" doesn't count. Also, it's looks like shiro still exists but with ext duck 1 instead. Which is very inconsistent and not worth it at all.
It did not take much for steve to be top tier in T7 so he is likely to be in this game, just b+1 and a overall safe playstyle was all it took for pros to make him top tier in T7 sadly(believe he is supposedly A tier currently because d/f+2 tracking was gone lol). Pros can have their two button steve gameplay, I am going to utilize all Steve has to offer.

No shiro combo, slowest standing launcher at i22, and weaker b1 CH only 12 damage (used to be 20). You can't say "buT he cAn do gATLING after CH DF2!" i mean you need to duck cancel everytime you do df2 so i'm not even sure if you can confirm that gatling followup but the wildman is guaranteed for sure. Don't even mention that sorry ass guard break thing when that shit is a high and can only do 18 damage ON CH so maybe 15 damage is the normal damage without the CH based on TMM's video with the 1,1,2 followup. If someone ducks you doing that shit then you're dead. The new clinch thing is good but that's it really.

@@JakubDi B+1 is predictable, I've seen high level play where it gets fuzzied. Because of 4, 1, 2 changes he can't do 4, 1f into mindgames have to use 3, 2, 1. I was also hoping he'd get his old tag 2 CH WS2, F+3, F+2 ,F+3 crouch cancel juggle back.

I remember seeing Soulcalibur 2 to 3 changes and thinking how bad a character will be, but once the game came out, it turned out that character was strong due to changes to the system and other characters.
@SpiteHook The grounded and jumping stomp hook strings are +7 on hit, you can see it on screen. D/b+3,2 and u/f+3,2 are the only moves I see with high enders that goes into the new stance but can't be cancelled to the mid body blow. Kinda wish b+2 was +16 instead of 14, don't like being forced to heat engage for best damage/knock down.

Ah man he seems less interesting. I spent so long mastering shiro execution and machine gun at wall and damn it felt good to pull them off regularly as a result of all that practice. Change is fine but this seems so watered down. Maybe its just the initial hesitation to change. Let's hope he feels more interesting than he looks. Also hope he has new optimised combos because wtffff is that sudden lack of carry on his old ender
@@Nostromo_TK yeah I dont mind using the PKB f2,1 as an ender if I have to, it just has more recovery so you get less time to run up and start the f2,1 once they've carried to the wall. Oh well. Maybe there's some new awesome tech and combo routes with carry yet to be discovered.

@@gwiin8289 I just checked it and here the distance is up to 2.82. Depends on the character but Dragunov in T7 is even further away than that like 2.90 or more so I don't think that'ts a problem. Unless the duck doens't go as far as before or smth

I liked the direction they went with Steve,he is much more user friendly at least especially for Beginners/New Players & Intermediate/Casual Players.

Shiro might still exist off of FLIK B2, EXT DCK 1 etc. and Gatling was never hard tbh.
