That quilt is as easy to make and enjoy, as a saltine cracker dipped in melted chocolate in the middle of the night for a midnight chocolate candy treat!

Watching this video gave me some confidence to finish a Christmas quilt I have in pieces. It’s an old kit that was planned poorly and it’s giving me fits. I’m thinking maybe I am too worried about the joining. Also, I’m enjoying the videos you and Kris have done!

Teancum, I really like the fabrics you used on both. Hard to choose. Thanks for giving us a quick and easy pattern. The ombre fabrics I bought are really cool. Now just have to wait for my shoulder to heal a bit more from surgery so I can get started using them. Is it just me, but the demonstration quilt he sewed only had two levels of the “step”. The hanging quilt and the second one had four “steps” or levels giving it a “V” or wave pattern. The linked pattern does show the four levels but he didn’t explain that in the video.
I saw that too. You should have a half strip, full strip, half strip, then half strip of the next block down.

Chris Hunter... It's a bit of an Optical Illusion. I think the wall hanging and the one he made as the sample are the same. I count 5 levels of the yellow on both. In any event, it is the pattern he is demonstrating. We can adapt it as we please to get the effect we want. I'm grateful he has lit a fire in my brain and the pattern is no longer a big mystery to me.....

I love the look of a bargello, but after making one I think it will be a long time before I do it again. This pattern is so much simpler. Which one do I like best? The one I'm going to make. But if I have to pick one of yours it's the vintage.

I like second one. I like yellow and that brightens the quilt up. I have some fat quarter that I wanted to make a bargello with but I thought I would need more fabric. I’ll make it like this and just add a few other fat quarters. Wonder where I can find some fat quarters? 😉

I made This quilt with 12 fat quarters and I bought 3 yards of fabric for the back and binding. That was plenty
