    Got the speed skim- now seen the Regina spats. Looks quite big. I’m small and struggle with the speed skim, so worry it might be too big to manage for me.

    would be interesting on a update on this subject and your thoughts still about it.. if you still using it or stuck with ox? and what is the difference between the plastic blade one and the stainless steel blade, when and where to use them

    That looks nice. I don't know why there saying it's new. Refina sent me 1 similar 4/5 yrs ago. Exactly the same handle, Frame. They gave me the fitting to attach to their pool. Got that as well. I think they called it rollgrip spatula. And the pole attachment is called rollgrip attachment. Exactly the same design

    I preferred the look of the refina from day one but got the speedskims to support British manufacturing and wide availability. In purely quality of finish I’d say the refina are better.

    These plastic things are only used to flatten and not finish. They also need material so avoid the temptation of farting around with the first coat.
    Get it on , flatten , wait , finish

    What do you think of the Skimflex Superspat? Seems a fair bit cheaper than the Ox or Refina, with similar handle to the Refina.
    Also, what lengths of spat would you recommend for beginners?

    why does every company that sells these types of tools always put sharp angles on the ends..? makes no sense since its not like you will use these to perfect crisp edges

    • @utensil999

      I guess because they are mass produced items, and can't individually be hand finished to work like a seasoned tool.

    • @jonnyhifi
      @jonnyhifi ปีที่แล้ว

      The sharp corners are a side effect of cutting the sheet material used for the blade. To soften the corners repeatedly consistently in a production line is really difficult - esp as they don’t want people to start saying “mine wasn’t as nice as my mates” …
