Much better looking than the 800 range. Nice to see that they have everything on the bike as standard.
I agree. I especially did not like the look of the front on the previous Tiger Sport. This new look on the range is spot on without being brave. It is more inline with most people's expectations which is sensible in this sector of the market.
They have done a great job.

Heated pillion seat. wow. my other half would love that. Cool addition.
I love this idea. It really puts rider comfort first. I saw this on the larger 1200 s. Great addition for touring.

The TFT looks amazing. All bikes over 10k will have these. Makes other bikes look out of date now.
Ha, yeah, thanks. My MV , even though on a 20 place has an LCD screen. If there was an update to a TFT I would get it.

You're right! I wonder what I was thinking of. I did go on two KTMs beforehand and I am sure I saw WP suspension on a Triumph. I must have wrongly assumed the GT Pro had it one as well. 100% Marzocchi front and back.
Ah. The bigger Adventures have WP and I think I saw them also on another Triumph I was looking at in the showroom.

Really enjoyd wathing your video, passionte accurate information about the bike. I tested one in Lisbon and here is my experience:
the cons, she vibrates at high speeds /high revs, i dont think one wants to keep 160km/h for long preiod of time. It´s doable alright but you feel your hands a bit funny. The other con (and only found two) is the heat that came to my knees at low speed after doing 160 km/h for a couple of minutes, it was a warm day though.
the pros: feels very light, nimble, great great cyclistic/balance in turns- really enjoyd that. Very confortable. The engine looks like a two and a half cylinder , it has got good lows while being a bit sportly elastic. It has the fun factor. Premium finishes, great gearbox, Beautiful bike... really pretty , i ordered one.
Yeah, superb bike really. It was more fun and agile than I was expecting and I do now prefer these middleweight sports-tourers to the big Africa Twins and GS style bikes BUT I wont do huge long distances at 160kmh where, as you mentioned, this bike then starts to feel a bit short.
I was very close to buying one for the winter but got a little car instead! :)

Ha, yep. There is no such thing as a bad bike. Most bikes are good, some great and some outstanding.

So much competition in this sector of the marketplace. So much choice. Always a tough decision when looking at new bikes. I do like the price point for what you get.
The GT Pro comes with everything you would need and top spec gear at that but, yes, there are plenty of alternative bikes in this sector that compete directly. Most notably the Yamaha Tracer 900 GT and the BMW f900 XR TE which are also great bikes.

I hate the Tracer 9's 2 piece screen..that looks like a face and mustache etc LOL. Weaker front brake too but otherwise GREAT bike. I like the F900 quite a lot but..maintenance and service etc is dang pricey. I went from choosing the Tracer, to choosing the F900 Beemer...to now prob this Tiger 900 GT Pro. NothingToProve also does a good comparison video... Great video review thanks!!
What about vibrations on speeds over 120? I read some people were really annoyed by it.
Sorry for the delay. Ha, I don;t think I got anywhere near that fast, unless you mean KPH. I cant say I noticed it being that bad. At those speeds there is air noise anyway.

I was considering the Niken in your last video. How does this compare?
Well, it is a rival but really is for different people. The Niken is AMAZING and game changing and ideally suited to those who wish to have safer journeys, perfect for new riders, old riders and those coming back after a layoff who simply want to concentrate on the experience. You also have to be okay with the looks. The Triumph is a 'normal' motorcycle and has some great tech, all that you need indeed, for all types of journeys. So it is really down to personal preference.

Yes, it does. As per usual with motorcycles, you need to try it personally and then decide if you need a different front screen or any additions.

@@tonydare7614 How did first service go? 500 miles? 1000? How long is your commute. I"ll be riding mine around the city, but also...a couple hours at a time at high speed too. Im wanting a bike that can do everything fairly well basically LOL
@@kee7678 the first service is early September at 1,000 km. I only have a 35 minute commute, much of which is through dense traffic. I find it easy around town in all situations. The accelerator is a tiny bit snatchy and neutral can be hard to find. But not worse than other bikes. I've done some motorway riding and I have to say that wind protection isn't great and there are vibrations at the mid to top of the rev range. Twisties are where it is most happy.

Ah, usually I mention it in my videos. I am 5' 10" with an inside leg measurement of 30".
Triumph are still one of the best for seat versatility.

Can I ask your honest opinion please. I am looking next year to upgrade my current Tracer 7. I am considering this Tiger 900 GT, Tracer 9 GT but also thinking about either the Kawasaki 1000 SX or possibly the new GSX S 1000 GT. I noticed you have tested the SX. Can I ask how they compare in terms of comfort , handling, performance, etc. I have a bad back and Ann not young anymore is the SX comfortable or is something like this much better? Any honest comparison would be very helpful. 👍👍

Ah no. Don;t ask that. I was all over the Kawasaki and it keep calling me. The bike is more 'me' but this Triumph is exceptional. It's a bit annoying it is so good! :)
Now my sports tourer purchase if a lot more complicated.

The Triumph Triple is the most obvious sound around. Though a Ducati Twin and a Harley are also usually obvious.

How did you get on with Triumph's quickshifter?
I didn't refer to it much so it must have done the job really well! I love quickshifters, great having it on any bike.

Did you feel it ran out of puff at the higher end?
Not really. Would/did I miss the big kick you get from a big capacity sports tourer? Yes,. a bit. Lower capacity means more fun, more agility and easier maneuverability so it comes down to personal use and requirements.

So, you said you can almost flat foot it. Just out of curiosity, how tall are you? I’m just about 5’7 and I worry the bike may be too big for me?
5'10" with a 30" inside leg.
The bike is pretty stable and weighted nicely so coming to a stop is no drama anyway.

How did you find the suspension?
Brilliant. I am a big fan of WP suspension. I went out on the KTM Super Duke R and the 790 Adventure and the WP suspension on those was also really good. No hesitation is recommending it.

@@RevMonkey it doesn't have WP suspension. It has Marzochi suspension front and rear (electronically adjustable)
Nice but the BMW F 900 XR in top spec trumps this.
The XR in TE form is also a great bike. It’s based on the parallel twin from the F850GS, with 105bhp. Definitely a rival and, again, as with other comment replies, really comes down top personal choice and preference on looks and how it rides, or brand loyalty. Can't go wrong with either bike. The BMW looks similarly fantastic.

@@RevMonkey Yeah but look at the low end torque scale. I'm told repeatedly, that the Tiger feels more HP than the F900, from a guy who sold his, for the Tiger instead....that got my attention. check out Nothing TO PRove's video on them..

Worth the extra over the Yamaha Tracer?
It is down to preferences really. This Triumph has a higher level of tech on it but it is really close and might come down to looks. The Yamaha has most of the kit and the Tracer GT has panniers with it so it might make more financial sense. The Tracer is more powerful, by quite a bit, so the delivery on both is different and might also be a decider. The Triumph feels more refined and feels more comfy but the Yamaha might edge it on fun and drama so it really comes down to how you wish the bike to behave and what your typical journey is.

@@RevMonkey I'd agree with all that except maybe the HP. Tiger better low end torque, more refinded, more comfy, and more tech... GT is sportier and less ADV than the Tiger.
Excellent review. After much hesitation, I'm trading my Ducati Scrambler in for a GT Pro and will pick it up next Wednesday in Paris. Hoping city riding and filtering will be as easy as with the lighter Ducati. Take care and drive safe.
Ha spooky!! I had a Ducati Scrambler and took this out and really liked it and thought about getting it. Ticked a lot of boxes for me as a I prefer middleweight sports tourers to out and out tall.heavy adventure bikes.
Picking up in Paris! Nice. Traffic should be a lot less with Corina virus out there.

@@RevMonkey Thanks for the reply! Traffic is still terrible despite restrictions, and far denser than London in most areas. I love the Scrambler but my fingers are numb every time I take it out now. I went for the red version although I wasn't really excited by any of the three colours. The only extras I chose were a top case and the engine protection. I guess I can always add or change stuff later. But it seems pretty complete the way it is and far more than any other bike I have ever owned. I'll definitely let you know how it works out here. The engine protection is a great idea, especially if will pop off the road. Good luck with it.

@@RevMonkey The vibrations too, but at the moment it's the cold. It has been between 5 and minus 1 for the past two weeks here. Snow today. I hear the Tiger has vibrations as of 5,000 especially in the higher gears. Some complain, others say it adds character.
@@tonydare7614 Ah ok. Vibes don't bother me too much IF the overall experience is great. Overall, I do have a preference in the character of 2 cyl and 3 cyl bikes.

Of course, and more expensive. There is a bike for everyone in this particular sector. Comes down to what is important for how you will mostly use the bike.
