Language is the heartbeat of our past lives
This song was in our dialect from Fataleka, Baegu in the Solomon Islands 🇸🇧.. Sasi sasi ae, its about someone baby sitting his/her brother while their parents went to gather foods .
qué bonito una canción de cuna para los hermanitos... un poco triste porque dice que se quedan huerfanitos, pero muy hermosa
Rorogwela se llama la canción original si no me equivoco
Thanks Stan Johnson for share this wonderful music for us.
One of my favorite songs in the entire world. Love this
my sweet deep forest......ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
From my home land of Malaita in the northern side, Solomon Islands in the Pacific Ocean, I'm very intrigued and proud by the high level of recognition and devotion given internationally to our childhood play time lullaby song. Its normally sung by elder sisters and brothers to their younger siblings to wan their eyes lips to the dream world of sleeping. Yes, it now will live forever, though the original recording was done in the mid 1960s by a France Ethnographer before I was ever born. As a result of this very famous artistic work by the Deep Forest Project, 60 years down the line to this present time, Solomon Islands has now formalized and registered its Solomon Islands Ethno Music Association. Their Ethno music artists are now flooding the New Zealand, Australia and Asian music sphere. Welkam to our Pacific Organic Blue, Green and Yellow Swit lullaby world in the Oceania region by entering into this link supplied here: fb.watch/j_TWshvx5a/

C'est splendide, comme toujours! Merci. Pascal
this music is wonderful... the simplicity of the children's voices added to the samplers brings an unbelievable peace... 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
If you go to Afunakwa-Topic channel and listen to Rorgwela-Lullaby you will hear an old lady singing. Recorded in 1970 by a field trip to the Solomon Islands, this was used by Deep Forest on 1st album 1993. ❤❤
Masterpiece
Absolutely breathtaking. Describing something as epic nowadays only results in a decrease in the power of that word, but to hell with it; this is _truly_ an epic performance.
Wow.. just love how you brushed it with so many other colours
An amazing version
90s vibe good
Such an awesome groove and an amazing journey.
BELLISSIMOOOO TRES BELLE
Amazing

Нормуль!
thank you for this notable expression of cultural appropriation, the original singer would surely be proud
Come to Solomon island if u want to know the real meaning of this song
Sasi sasi ae taro taro amu
Ko agi agi boroi tika oli oe lau
Tika gwao oe lau koro inomaena
I dai tabesau I tebetai nau mouri
Tabe ta wane initoa te ai rofia
Sasi sasi ae kwa dao mata ole
Rowelae e lea kwa dao mata biru
I dai tabesau I tebetai nau mouri
😥
Its so funny and shameful that you keep on twisting and changing the arrangements of this very song for years..but you can't simply acknowledge those who originally own this song for couple of decades now..The only hit song in the world that you never see or hear a vocalist actually sings it on stage...what a shame...benefiting from a stolen song...same people who stole our wealth and resources in history during the colonial era...
Her name was Afunakwa, and I would've never known she or the lullaby even existed without this song. Deep Forest should have paid royalties to her & her family. As far as the lullaby itself being sung live on stage, Afunakwa reportedly passed away by the mid to late 1990s. Despite this cloud, the song itself has helped to bring the world a little closer together as well as to give tribute to the Solomon Islands. 🫶 ✌️
