- Here's another case of stock versus tuned, as two performance cars from within the VW Group duke it out. The S5 with its turbocharged V6 and AWD would have had the edge on any other occasion, but this VW Polo GTI, though still very much FWD, has been tuned to about 380hp and is running on racing slick tyres. Who do you think will win? Cyrus Dhabhar has the answer.

Dsg torque limit is 250Nm in GTI. So it won't work for long either.
@@akhildude41 I'm guessing this one has a dq250 gearbox. Stock dq200 will blow up with this kinda torque

GTI was on my buying list before it was discontinued, i saved upto 60% of it's cost

Those are racing slicks, they have less rubber on the tread surface which appears to make it look like lesser tyre pressure !

@@midhunleo3254 at :049 he clearly says the racing slicks are up front, they do that since the gti is FWD also the rear dosn't really need slicks cuse the most traction required is in the front 🙂

Polo's front tyres have an insanely low tyre pressure! I can't believe it'd be safe on the road.
This is the problem with FWD cars - what's the point of having 380HP if you will lose every race on the road from a traffic light, even with drag slicks?
The low pressure was intentional for the race
And yes,it will not be safe on the road
It's done to increase contact area. When you're on the road, you'd obviously change up tires and fill em up
I think this was done to get traction during the launch .. hence low Tyre pressure
Fwd might be slower in 0-100 timings (there are tuned civics which beat challengers) but can go neck to neck on track. Civic type r has one of the fastest production car lap times on the nurburing. So please do your research before posting such stuff 😉

0.46 sec I see that tuned VW Polo Tyres has less tyre pressure, Am I the only one who noticed it?
At first, I thought that it is the racing tyre dynamics but at 0.49 sec the back tyre is in the right pressure.
Anyone who knows why so? I mean is it a racing trick for traction or is just less tyre pressure.
Less tire pressure has 2 benefits in racing, especially drag racing. 1) larger contact patch equals more traction and grip off the line. 2) after the launch, less tire pressure results in lower tire wall rigidity which reduces wheelspin during first few seconds. Hope it helped

The vw pologti costs 22-23 lakh on road nd tuning costs around 6-8 lakhs mayb! Nd finally costs around 30L where audi S5 costs 80Lon road! 😆😅
GTi cost 32lakhs on road in Bangalore, but yes Volkswagon stopped GTi sales in India
