Hi Carrie! I was wondering when you were measuring if you measured at your waist or your natural waist? Natural waist is often a lot smaller, and that's what the company had based their sizes on! :)

The measurement thing is something I’ve noticed. Not sure if it’s vanity sizing but my actual measurements and my proposed jean waist measurements do not coincide. So I don’t understand if they purposefully put a smaller number on the jeans or I just don’t know how to measure. But yeah makes life even more difficult if you think you’ll get a perfect fit after measuring yourself to find out you are far from it.

From what I’ve found in searching for jeans the waist measurement jeans (ex: 31, 32, 33 etc.) goes off your natural waist measurement. So if the jeans hit at your natural waist, which would be super high rise then it would be 32.” But if they fit lower on your waist the measurement will get bigger. So a size 32 in a lower rise style will have a bigger measurement around than 32” if that makes sense.
I would love to see you try out nooworks! They are a really fun Cali small brand with amazing patterns. I get comments constantly when I wear my eggs dress out. Also they’re magic suits are literally magic they are comfy but make is fashion

The measuring thing often messes me up as well, especially with pants! My waist to hip ratio always puts me between multiple sizes. It’s a big reason why I hate ordering online. Measuring is significantly more triggering for me than being able to blindly try on three sizes in store. Thanks for discussing it xo
hi carrie! so i wanted to make a comment about when you talked about there being very few 14/16s in stores and online. i worked at american eagle from 2017-2020 and i mostly worked in stock. i want to tell you about this because i think it’s weird, but for example, we would receive a box of all one type of jean, with every size. we would get only one or two 00s and 0s, MANY 4s, 6s, 8s, and again only one or two of a 14 or 16. so basically we would receive lots of the in between sizes and very few on the smaller or larger ends. the stock never exists in the first place. this would also go for any article of clothing, shirts, underwear, everything. idk if they’re just assuming what they’ll sell the most of, but yeah. we received very few of the larger sizes. that could be why you can’t find them. weird :/
It probably varies based on store(brand) as well as location with the sizes that you get the most reflecting the most common sizes that shop at the specific location. I would hope that is it and there is some research that has determined what sizes come to the location the most and not just lack of wanting to offer those sizes.

For the pants that are a bit too short, I can't tell from the video if they're a raw hem or not, but if they're hemmed you could maybe take a seam ripper to them to add some length. I've done that with jeans, but no idea how it would work on more of a jogger/sweatpant situation.

I had the exact same issue ordering their flower-print jeans! I was very confused by their sizing system and the note they made about sizing up! I usually buy a 32 or 33 depending on the fit of the jean/how loose I want them to be, so I ordered a 34. I was thrown off by the sizing chart, so I measured my waist and also measured a 38, so I bought a 38. The 38 was WAY too loose and the 34 was too tight. I was able to return both and bought a 35 during their final sale, hoping it would fit, and thankfully they did. But, man, it was a struggle! Size 35 was so random-- it's neither 1 size up from my normal size NOR related to my waist measurement at all.
Everlane has really shady business practices, most notable firing a dept for trying to unionize. There are tons of websites online explaining why not to support them- I recommend looking into it :)
Okay, so I feel like with the light indigo pants they were saying size up from your typical size. So if I am a 4 get a 6, right? I think they were operating under the assumption that most people aren't using the size chart which as you proved was probably on point and if you ordered according to it it would've worked for you. Clearly, it is a flawed system but that's my guess on what happened lol

Aren't there 1-3 sizes between an xl and 2x? At least 1x, and sometimes also xxl and 0x depending on how the brand does their sizing. I could see people who are used to ordering a 2x being disappointed by this brand's "2x" since they seem really small
