i've never tried a clothing rental service before, but after seeing your requests as well as some youtube videos, i had to test it out! i've never rented clothes before, but as someone who tends to cycle through clothing items pretty quickly, i thought this might be a cool sustainable option! you rent the clothes, wear them for a month, and send them back. i was also curious to see what kinds of options would be available for plus size people - as a size 16, sometimes it can be difficult. make sure you stay til the end to hear my thoughts and if i'll keep doing it! hope you enjoy xoxoxo

I'd love to see a part 2 where you style these outfits and wear them out vlog style! I think it'd be super interesting to see which pieces you were actually able to wear outside and which just didnt work in your daily life
I've been using nuuly for when I have a lot of work events or holiday parties & it's so nice because I can plan all my outfits for those events at the beginning of the month & then I don't have to stress about it the day before or morning of. I also would normally probably buy something special for those events & then maybe only wear those pieces a few times but with this I can just send it back & not have to feel guilty for not wearing a really unique piece a ton. Other than that, just for renting for everyday kinda stuff (when I don't have special occasions) it doesn't really feel worth it to me.

I think a service like this would be great for vacations! I’m always tempted to buy new clothes for vacation, but my vacation style is very different than my at home style so it seems pointless to buy those clothes
CARRIE the denim vest without anything under was so freaking cute!!!! I actually really loved it with the lower rise skirt too! I too am a high rise queen but I’m starting to realize it’s literally just fatphobia keeping me from rocking low rise!
I would love to see a part two! I saw this brand but 88 dollars is a lot if you don’t like stuff. But would love to see how you order differently next time based off this first purchase.
I use this service, and it's been a great way to otherwise rarely buy clothes. I have so many times where I like something in theory but when I actually try it on and wear it around, I lose interest. This ends up being a perfect trial run for me, I only buy what I've worn before and know I feel good in. Plus it's great for getting a fun dress to wear once for an event and then sending back.
i love nuuly! one tip is to keep double sided fashion tape on hand to "alter" the clothes you rent if they're too big! for example, I would fold the extra bit of the straps and tape it secure on that first jumpsuit you tried on! it's a game changer for small alterations 😊 (and then just remember to take the tape off before you send back)

that denim top was giving the britney VMA look and i LOVED it. maybe paired with a flowy maxi skirt would give it a boho vibe?
Absolutely love the concept of renting clothes, but the price point makes it unaccessible or impractical for a lot of folks imo. It would be more cost efficient to choose items from a thrift store and re-donate them at the end of the month and you’d still spend less. You wouldn’t have the same access to higher end clothes, but if you didn’t care too much about it, thrifting could be a better option. The cons in thrifting are about the same, you don’t get to try stuff on or return it. Or honestly like buying clothes and keeping the tags on, wearing it, then returning it before the receipt expires could even be a better option. Not my particular cup of tea, but same vibe, you don’t clutter your closet and someone else will enjoy it. That’s what I do. I usually keep tags and wear it and return it if I’m iffy about it.
I used nuuly this month for a wedding I was going to and it ended up being PERFECT! It’s too expensive for me to justify doing it monthly but it was great for a nice formal dress that I would otherwise only wear once and never again, and for me to get some nice everyday pieces for the month in addition!

You’ve talked about having problems in the past with family, and you seem to have a good relationship with your mom now. Just curious because I’ve been struggling with forgiving and forgetting.

I feel like renting clothes for special events is what makes sense. A hot pink sequin dress that you’ll only ever wear once? Perfect. But everyday clothes don’t make a lot of sense to me. You looked ADORABLE in these outfits 🧡

i agree with others who have said an end of the month recap would be nice! also, it would be helpful if you mentioned the purchase prices for each of the items as they’re not listed on the website for non-subscribers. i think nuuly is cool because a lot of their inventory is super pricey items so it’s a way to have access to pieces that i wouldn’t necessarily otherwise be able to wear. the monthly charge does require a decent amount of disposable income but it might be worth it to take advantage of renting the pricier brands/pieces 🤷🏽♀️

Tiffany Ferguson does nuuly reviews every month on her second channel. She does them at the end of the month and talks about what she actually wore and liked and tries everything on and shows how they fit and stuff. She also sometimes does shop with me videos showing kind of the process of how she decides what to add and what she looks for depending on the season and what events she might have coming up and stuff. I would totally check her videos out to see how she gets the most use out of her stuff every month since she’s been doing it for quite a while!

This looks fun and I’d love to see updates! Also, I just want to say I 100000% relate to your issue of having clothes fit way too large on the top and just right/too small on the bottom. Like you, I wear clothes on the lower end of plus size and higher end of standard size. In both sizing worlds, I only tend to buy dresses with adjustable straps these days because if I don’t, the top of the dress is always enormous and falling off my shoulders, and I can’t size down because I have to accommodate my hip measurement. It’s so irritating and I don’t want to tailor everything I buy 😭😭😭
I think I liked the blue romper at the end the most, I think it was adorable on you, the lack of shape to it is intentional and I think that’s what made it so cool

Nope! They don’t charge for damages… though I’m not sure what would happen if you habitually damaged their stuff. Source: Use Nuuly semi regularly and stained a dress I took to the beach (dropped a popsicle on it😬).
I work at URBN which owns UO, FP, Anthro, and Nuuly! I finally decided to try Nuuly this month and so far I really like it! 2 of my 6 items won’t work out.. 1 is see-thru but the reviews did say it was so that’s my fault, and the other was a cute mini dress that was just too short. But I completely agree with how it lets you wear things you wouldn’t normally! Working at the company, people wear some crazy things so even if it were the ugliest thing ever, I’d still fit in lol. Nuuly is a fairly new company, I think they were created in 2019, but I know the company is really happy with how they are doing.

I bought a romper similar to the blue one from old navy. It came with a tie belt (aka a string basically) that I could tie at the waist and it looks way better than wearing it free flowing! Maybe you could try something like that?
Also, curious which boob tape you recommend. I've been wanting to try it.

I love Nuuly! I have one right now. It’s expensive but I get to wear brands I could never afford, like Selkie. Generally, it has also cut down my spending for clothes a lot, and it’s saved room in my closet. This summer I’ve been working remote 2 days a week, so six items gets me a great rotation of outfits for my three days in the office. That being said, I may buy my first dress from them this month.😅

The denim shirt outfit is really cute but I would try it with a maxi flowy white skirt instead of the more structured one! Like one of those tiered white flowy skirts. Only because i feel like it would be more comfortable for you! Baby steps ya know ! You could also maybe layer the shirt as more of like a vest? I dunno !

Rent clothes for a month is a good idea! Love all the outfits! Try a belt with the jumpsuit and romper. A belt might help with the jumpsuit top being too big and a belt would add shape to the romper (even if it's a loose, low belt.) Just a thought. Great video!
