I just want to thank you for your helpful video. My daughter brought her Hyundai to a shop and they wanted $800 to replace the alternator and belt. Thanks to you, I bought the parts and did it myself (with your help!) save a ton of money. Thanks again!!!!
Thank you guys so much for making this video easy to watch and understand. Replaced my very first alternator and serpentine belt on my own with the help of your videos and saved me potentially HUNDREDS in labor costs.
Thanks to you and your video, I noticed that the Shop I took my car to have the alternator replaced, routed my serpentine belt incorrectly! I was having numerous problems afterwards ranging from poor charging to poor airflow from my A/C, Fan, and Defroster settings... Since changing it back to proper position, no more problems whatsoever! Maybe coincidence but how funny that everything is back to normal just by changing the routing of a belt! Thanks again and keep on posting!
Awsome thank you 🙏🏼 i sent my alternator to a repair shop to get it fixed and switched it myself thanks to this Awsome guy. Repair cost me $130 and labor free 😌🤣🤷🏻♂️
Thanks for the video. Used it to replace my alternator. One hack I learned. For the alternator belt tightening screw, I used a rubber band to hold the bolt to the apparatus and the adjusting screw. It held all in place so I could hold it by adjusting screw without it rotating.
Wow! Thank you for posting this video, especially the caveat to disconnect the battery. I don't want to imagine the spark show if one skipped that step. I appreciate all the socket sizes to organize the tools needed before starting. In my opinion, the part which challenged my patience most was putting the belt back on. Align belt on the crankshaft pulley, then while sliding under the timing indicator and the counter pulley, it would slip off the water pump. Push it onto the water pump and it falls off the crank, and so on and so on. Thank you again for the excellent demonstration!!!
Thank you for these videos I have a 2015 Hyundai Elantra and do all of the maintenance work and repair work myself your videos have really really helped me I'm pretty good as a mechanic but like to have a little bit of detail on how to do something before I start so it is really awesome that I found your videos... Again thank you very much
Love your video’s you have saved me thousands of dollars for showing how easy it is to work on my car! :) i am at 314k miles on my Elantra the this is the project for tomorrow
I have a 2013 Hyundai Elantra Limited. The alternator is going bad. The cat is hesitating when I drive or Idle and for the first time it had trouble starting. Auto Zone put their machine on it and said it was the alternator showing failed. So I called the dealership and they told me they charge $1000 to replace. Yikes! Auto Zone has the new alternator for $385.00. I will have to do the work myself. This video is helpful! Wish me luck!
Thank you so much for the information and demonstration. This along with the spark plug video helped out. I haven’t yet installed the new alternator, but the removal helped simplify the ordeal. Are there sounds or things we should be aware of after installing a new alternator or serpentine belt?????
Question. I have a Hyundai Elantra same year as you feature in a lot of your videos. You are extremely helpful!! I have used your videos to fix my Hyundai a number of times now. Thank you. Question-My Hyundai now has the battery indicator light and EPS light coming on at same time? What could that be??? I just changed out O2 sensor and crank position sensor 2 days ago and of course had battery disconnected while doing the work. Would a bad alternator cause both those lights to come on?
Hey guys, I love you videos and appreciate the effort and details you put into them . I recently had my alternator fail, not charging battery. Battery tested good. Can you help me u derstand the simplest way to change the alternator because it's real hard to access it and I don't have enough money to pay a mechanic. Any help would be greatly appreciated because if I don't fix it I can't get to work. Thank you so much for any help you can give!!
I don't know how other videos are ahead of you most the ones I've seen really don't really give a visual of the part that you're looking at they show hands in there but all you can see is the hands I actually see the product the placement the bolts and how to pull them the one thing I don't get out of your video then I'm looking for but isn't your main thing is they tensioner brace assembly I would like a video more on that because mine wasn't put on properly when I bought the car and I've run into a bunch of issues recently including the fact that I had to buy the parts twice because I misplaced the first set and the original set that came with the car just came off and probably went on the road somewhere
I liked your video very much. I was wondering, when I turn the heat off there's still a slight amount of heat. I was told that I need to replace the blend door actuator. I know it's somewhere underneath the dashboard but I'm not sure exactly where and also how to replace it. It's a 2012 Hyundai Elantra GLS 1.8 engine do you suppose you could do a video on replacing it? Thanks so much.
I'm going crazy trying to get the alternator out of my '11 Elantra! I removed all the wires and bolts, but it won't come out. I even tried prying it with a big screwdriver.
FYI this doesn't apply to California versions of the car. Our 2016 Elantra does not have the tensioning bolt on front and the alternator has a second pulley on it as well.
I have a question I have a 2016 Hyundai Elantra SE 1.8 L. The alternator that’s on my vehicles is 150 amp stock alternator but all the alternators that I can get from the auto parts store is 90 amp so what’s the issue? Is it fine that I put a 90 amp on my car even though it has 150 amp stock alternator on it.
Will there be an issue if I reinstall the same belt or do I have to get a new one. Also, does this process work for the 2015 turbo version. Thank you 🙏🏿
@Auto repair Guys please i need help !! I have a 2017 Hyundai Elantra SE model Changed my battery yesterday, 2 miles down the road car died on me! engine light came on stalled out about 5 times .had to get her home is it the altenator??
Disconnected alternator and battery to get to thermostat now care will not start, but had power( lights comeone in cab,) do i need to jump my 2013 hyundai elantra limited?
So I am trying to change my alternator but when I try to loosen up the belt my car doesn’t have the part where to can loosen up the belt by turning it left. I went to auto zone and asked them to see if they knew and they guy there looked it up on the book and said it’s apparently more towards the bottom... does anybody know where it’s located? (Sorry I am kinda bad at explaining) I wish I can post a picture lol
Guys I need big help on my 2012 Elantra. I replaced my alternator 3 times in past 2 weeks. Right now the problem is the with the last alternator replaced, during idle there is a weird vibration that goes on and off and I believe it is coming from alternator. Also at idle the battery voltage is 12.5V - 12.6V and is not charimg up to over 14V but when I revv up to 2000rpm it starts to charge and the voltage goes up to 14.5V
It did not go in that easy for me like it did for you at 6:28 & I was struggling so I decided to get a wire brush & brush off all the metal residue off the engine where you mount the alternator then after it just went in like butter
After replacing the alternator and battery my car died on me while driving. The battery was completely drained which leads me to believe that the alternator was not charging. I changed the battery and had it checked by a mechanic but he says everything is normal. It's scary it just died on me and wouldn't shift into park was just stuck on neutral and drive. Does anyone have any ideas what this could be?
Can somebody help me I can’t get the new alternator to go in it’s literally impossible the bushing is sticking out too much and it won’t go in I smacked it a lot and nothing
Not sure in your case but in my case, the belt is broken and the poulie is seized, does not turn anymore, the car is a 2010 . I am guessing the alternator needs to be replaced.

Do you have to change the belt with the alternator?
@@syedgalib2125 you should. Most professionals would recommend it.

Do you have any videos for the knock sensor symptoms and repair for a Saturn outlook 2008. ?
Should the alternator pulley spin freely?

I followed all steps and now when I turn off the car it makes a strange ticking? sound. What should I check?
You did not list the tools in the description at all
Please Im about to change by altenator now i need help
Guys, what was the reason to change alternator? My engine is shaking at red lights, ac on, windows, etc. Could it be the problem with alternator?
Have you figured out the issue?
your engine is misfiring that is not an alternator problem.
It’s your spark plugs and coils. I found my coils on Amazon for $75 all four
This video dont work for a 2017 Hyundai elantra SE , the bolt to loose the belt is not on the front like that
